  1. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 02:41 PM) my roomate ordered an HD LCD tv last week, it's coming today, this kid is excited. Time to deep fry a baconator tonight.
  2. All Pro football is fun times. I like the fact that you get to make your own team, obviously Marino was one of my gold stars and OJ was the other . My team name is the Assassins.
  3. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 12:37 PM) I kind of know/am related to the executive producer of this show. You're related to everybody.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 10:25 AM) The Bears do not have a Pro Bowl caliber QB on the roster. Three weeks with Greise, and the Rex chants will begin. Cowboys are for real. Sucks to live in Texas when the "boys have a closer to great than good" team. I don't think anyone is expecting Griese to be pro bowl caliber but he's better than Rex who is probably the worst starting qb in the league right now.
  5. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 23, 2007 -> 06:40 PM) It's their arrogance and unwillingness to accept the results. They come up with a model and make excuses when it doesn't work out. You should read the whiny article they put out after the Sox technically clinched in Detroit yet their system mathematically said the White Sox still only had a 90ish% chance of winning the division. I never had much respect for BP but that was the last straw for me. It was so ridiculous to read something like that.
  6. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Sep 23, 2007 -> 10:43 PM) Does getting wasted really add that much more enjoyment to a college football game? I've never understood it. Agreed. That's something I'll never do is get drunk before or during a sporting event that I care about.
  7. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 23, 2007 -> 07:01 AM) Now, keep in mind when I ask this that I didn't see last night's fight: Was Chuck looking soft or thick last night? Do you think Chuck's problem is really work ethic, or is his game just too one-dimensional? He's got one-punch KO power, as we know, but he doesn't seem to have the all-around game. I think guys are just figuring out how to stay out of KO range until they can ground-game him. I like Chuck, so I hope he's not done, but if guys figure out how to minimize the chance of the big punch it hurts his chances severely IMO. I think he got too hollywoodized(yes I'm making up words) to be honest with you.
  8. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 23, 2007 -> 11:06 PM) Rowand, what do I need to know about this Josh Crittle that Marquette and SIU (and Oregon, too) appear to be battling over? MU and SIU also appear to be entangled over Bobby Capobianco, a 2009 recruit... Oregon is definitely in the mix for Crittle but I think it's going to come down to MU or SIU. Marquette has been the leader for quite some time now but SIU already has a verbal from one of his AAU teammates(Dillard) and JC and Lowery appear to have a pretty nice relationship as well(most of our recruits do, hence why Chris is such a great recruiter). Crittle has a few more visits set up in the upcoming weeks and then we should hear something, like I said, I'd bet on MU or SIU. We have two scholarships left and basically are basically going after 3 players it seems(Crittle, Kuric and Roundtree) and Josh is the one I really want. First off he's another big and I think he'd absolutely thrive playing under Lowery. I think he'd make the most impact out of any of the players in our 08 class including Anthony Booker. As for Capobianco, he just kind of popped up on our radar so I don't know a ton about him as far as what he's leaning towards, visits, etc as of now.
  9. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 12:53 AM) I similarly expected IlliniKrush to look like Dee Brown. Well at least this one is true.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 22, 2007 -> 08:58 AM) I actually wonder if the Brewers would be interested in Garland. Bush, Suppan, Vargas and Capuano all have ERA's above 4.5. Sheets is always injury prone as well. Would anyone be interested in say Hall and Capauno for Garland (just throwing it out there), instead of dealing Garland for prospects? Capuano would get rocked in the American League. I'd want a different player than Cap. I guess it all depends on how much value Garland actually has.
  11. I'd love Bill Hall.
  12. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 22, 2007 -> 08:04 AM) If you like winning you want Bonds on your team. Right, 'cause it's worked so well for San Francisco the last couple of years. Bonds = a winning team. Right. You know exactly what he means.
  13. QUOTE(danman31 @ Sep 22, 2007 -> 01:57 AM) If you like winning you want Bonds on your team. You simply can't argue against that. If you'd rather have a classy losing team, then you don't want Barry Bonds. I'd love for the Sox to sign Bonds because the team would win more games. Ding!
  14. QUOTE(LukeGofannon @ Sep 22, 2007 -> 07:55 AM) The 2005 AL OF Gold Gloves should have been Randy Winn (SEA) 13 FRAA (split between LF and CF) Jaque Jones (MIN) 12 FRAA Scott Podsednik (CHW) 11 FRAA I have no idea what that stat is but it's pretty awful if those guys were gold glovers.
  15. Anyone got any video highlights of the Sox 8 run comeback from a while back against the Cubs? Since that game was talked about a few weeks ago I've really wanted to see highlights of that game again.
  16. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Sep 22, 2007 -> 06:28 AM) I honestly don't even really see it as an upset. I really don't either but Vegas does, so that's my reasoning.
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 21, 2007 -> 11:37 PM) They haven't. They probably have a base of around 15,000, but certainly not 30,000, and I'm in that group. I am a college student that has season tickets right now, but can't afford to spend my money on a bad product. When I'm older, and if I'm still in the Chicagoland area, I will have seats no matter what, but as it stands, I won't pay that much for a lousy product. That's the thing for a lot of us. You know how many games I usually go to but I simply can't afford to waste all my money(and I literally wasted ALL my money on the Sox in 05 and 06) on a team that sucks ass.
  18. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 21, 2007 -> 06:44 PM) Eric Chavez is pretty good. Brandon Inge is better than Crede. Brandon Inge is the best defensive 3b in the AL, imo. Anywho, I think you can make a good argument for Mark and Jon every year as far as gold gloves go. Not happening though.
  19. I bet we end up with like the 8th or 9th pick. This team sucks too much to get the first pick.
  20. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 21, 2007 -> 06:07 PM) plays this Sunday. Predictions of what he'll do? Also... Chris Cooley or Greg Olsen?? Take a shot that the Bears try to bring him in with a bang? Cooley is too good to play an unproven Greg Olsen over him in his first week, imo.
  21. I'm thinking UM pulls the upset as well.
  22. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 21, 2007 -> 11:34 PM) Not to be a narc, but I don't buy that -- I don't think I've ever seen a college kid talk about rolling tobacco. Sigh... Not to turn this into something bigger, but why again is smoking marijuana so looked down upon? I know people who roll their own cigarettes, it can be cheaper I believe. Still, in most cases I'm sure that's not the case. Cause it's illegal, that's the only reason.
  23. This team is stupid. Good job Josh though.
  24. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 21, 2007 -> 11:53 PM) What's the story on Anderson? What was his injury and how many months did he miss? What'd he hit? Do the Sox have any plans for him at all? If not you think they'd ship him out and give him a chance somewhere else. You never hear the guy's name in talks about the future. I mean he still does exist. What's the verdict on BA and his future with the Sox? He had a wrist injury. There is no future for BA with the Sox. For some reason this organization gave up on him after about 400 at bats. He'll be traded eventually, not sure when but he'll never play another game for the White Sox.
