White Sox loser
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 10:16 PM) So this throws a bit of a wrench into the resurgence now doesn't it? 66-29 here on out and this team will be playing in October! Fields hit a homer.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 08:05 PM) Not sure we should trade the #9 pick, we could draft Jamal Tatum with it, if he is still on the board. He wont be on the board though.

6/16 Games (Gio's hand reattached)
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 06:28 PM) I'm sure there are other GMs that would give Gavin Floyd a chance...for a bag of balls, but not serious talent. He's 24, not 30.

Buehrle Wants a Five Year Contract
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 06:19 PM) Was it you that told me when I was talking doomsday awhile back about our offense being bad and Konerko, especially -- someone said to me, "He won't [have another year like 2003]" and I said, "He's having it and there's precedent" and I think it was you that said Konerko wouldn't have such a bad year. Was it? I don't think Buehrle will have a bad year this year. That was most certainly me. And you definitely won that argument. What are the odds of me being wrong twice though??? Don't answer that.

Mets Interested in Buehrle?
Not Mets related but Schmidt is going to have surgery and is out indefinitely. Could make things more interesting on the Buehrle front.

Possibly the worst leadoff hitter in the history of baseball. Oh well, lets go Danks, Fields and Terrero.

Buehrle Wants a Five Year Contract
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 03:14 PM) After 13 starts last year, Mark Buehrle had an ERA of 3.13. After 13 starts this year, Buehrle has an ERA of 3.45... hmm And what did he do the 5 years before that?

Mets Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 03:33 PM) Would the Mets give up Wright for Buerhle, probably not but that is where KW should start. It's not a probably not, there's absolutely a 0 percent chance the Mets trade David Wright. It's not even worth mentioning.

What is Mark Buerhle worth?
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 12:10 PM) I chose 5yr/$16 million which would be 5/80. The Sox could either front load or back load it to their pleasure. I don't see them going much over that value. This sounds fair for both parties imo. Obviously Mark would be able to get more on the free agent market but 5 and 80 is still a very solid offer.

I know it sounds crazy, but....
QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 01:11 AM) They had a better rotation than everyone - that and defense is what won the World Series. The Angels had a dominant bullpen. The White Sox had 3 guys. The Yankees and Red Sox had much better lineups. All of those teams scored more than the White Sox that year. I really don't buy your argument there. The places that the White Sox were far superior to other teams were in fielding and SP. That is what won the World Series. Also unbelievable timely hitting. Our bullpen was pretty much fantastic considering the fact that our starters all usually went at least 6 innings. We had 3 fantastic relievers at all times(for the first half Hermy being one and Jenks being one in the 2nd half) and at least Viz was able to get outs.
