  1. Congrats to Trevor. He's definitely one of the greats, but for me, MO is definitely the best I've ever seen.
  2. Well I'm sure she learned her lesson.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 06:14 AM) OK, I want to see where Greg Walker has ever publicly preached to pull the ball and try to hit home runs. He hasn't and I guarantee he doesn't preach that. I've said a lot that I believe no matter if he's gone or he stays we'll be going through the same crap next season but I honestly don't think it can hurt right now to make a change there. Sometimes a shake up like that could wake the team up a bit.
  4. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 12:06 AM) my personal preference (and one I hope the organization shares) to concentrate on pitching early. This will always be my preference, no matter what we have in the system at the time.
  5. Kalapse you should really do that one time on a topic that you haven't been so adamant on in the past. That'd be interesting.
  6. As much as Ozzie bugs the hell out of me, blaming this season on him is absolutely ridiculous.
  7. QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 04:15 PM) wow, you guys must really think fields is going to be great, with all this excitement around here You would think we just got chavez to take crede's place. Crede is an allstar caliber 3b who is a clutch hitter. Fields is nowhere near crede, I am surprised that people would be excited to see our runner up gold glove 3rd baseman go down. Why don't we just call up all our farm boys, everyone here loves those guys better than the pro guys anyway. All these guys come up and have a good game or two and then the scouts file their reports and they can't hit or pitch worth a damn. Everytime we call these guys up we are at risk of not getting value when we trade them because teams know they are either not ready or they never will be ready. Joe's a great defender but he's only had one good year at the plate and even then I wouldn't call him allstar caliber. I'd bet that the reason many are happy to see Fields is most around here just don't think this team stands a chance at making the playoffs. If the majority of people thought this was a playoff team then I'm sure there would be a whole different reaction to this news, I know there certainly would be from my point of view.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:24 PM) Durant is still awesome, but I find that hard to believe as well. There arent many lower tier college athletes that cant bench 185 at least once. In fact I bet most high school athletes could as well. Ya, there's no doubt. Like you said, he's still an awesome player but not being able to get up 185 on the bench is just insanely weak for a pro athlete. I hope no one looks too far into this as far as his basketball skills go but it really is amazing to me that he can't lift that much.
  9. I love ARod(he might just be my non favorite member of the White Sox, besides Aaron of course) but he wont sign here as a free agent. Kenny will definitely make an offer but he'll be out of our price range. I really think we'll have a good shot at Mr. Suzuki though.
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 02:20 PM) Oden is a beast. He's just insane, he really is. Anywho, not a big deal here with Durant, but I must say that it's pretty ridiculous that he can't bench 185. The guy is talented as all hell but he's really going to be a jump shooter for a while in the nba, me thinks.
  11. Definitely interested to see Fields. Lets see what you got, Josh.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 02:05 AM) Seeing that Chris Young homer is such a kick in the nuts. Kid is going to be a very good player in this league... Why the f*** did Kenny trade him again? He hates lockers.
  13. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 04:24 PM) We still are being conservative with Gio because of his question marks physically. I know I am one of the more conservative people regarding Gio. Also, Fields is a power hitting 3B that has improved his defense to a respectable level and 3B is a tough spot to find good bats at like Fields projects to. Another thing that helped Fields get the nod is Major League readiness. He would be up for about half the teams in the bigs right now. If we made the list now it would be hard to keep Fields ahead of Gio because when we made the list Gio had a mediocre year in Reading, his current Bham numbers would make it hard to keep him below Fields. With that said, both players are repeating their levels. We're gonna have a prospect of the month thing coming out soon (it actually will be out because Jason isn't writing it) and Fields has a case for winning with his huge May. Well I'm with you on Gio actually. Just for me, I'll take the arm of Gio over the power bat of Fields. I completely understand what you're saying, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'd rather have Gio in our system than Fields so I consider him the better prospect, that obviously doesn't make it right.
  14. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 02:20 PM) What has Sweeney done to be considered more than a 4th outfielder? The Sox will be lucky if he's even that good. Quickman is right -- if the Sox traded their top 10 prospects for Pie they would be coming out ahead. The Sox farm system is absolutely barren. Sweeney is just a more talented, better player. Has he proven anything yet? No he has not but he's a much much much much much better prospect than Jerry Owens. And the bold part is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read.
  15. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 01:06 PM) That I do, which is why I was left out of the X-Men movies like Gambit was. Well then, I got nothing. So, um...touche.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 01:03 PM) I remember when Steiner made the transformation from normal member of the tag-team with the mullet, to like 2 weeks later with the Big Poppa Pump look. Obviously one of the biggest juicer transformations in history I wonder what made Steiner ever do that to himself. It's not like he was a small dude when he was wearing a Michigan jacket to the ring(I'm sure he juiced than as well, but still). He went from being in one of the greater tag teams of all time to just being a disgrace, really.
  17. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 12:36 PM) I think it's best to let Mr. David Campbell answer the question of WHY GAMBIT SUCKS. You know something...YOU SUCK.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 12:37 PM) I'd venture to say that Dunn is a very overrated baseball player. However, I'm not saying he's not valuable, but he's more valuable in the 6 spot. I don't want to get into another Dunn argument though.
  19. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 12:23 PM) Patience and understanding are two qualities you will not find in a lot of fans here. I think that's common in most sports fans, people want results right away. I've said it before but being patient with young players is one of the toughest things to do but it's something you have to be willing to do, otherwise you're going to end up losing a very talented player who might have just needed a bit more time to get going.
  20. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 12:18 PM) I'm actually a little suprised there wasn't more uproar about X3 (or certain aspects of X1 and X2) than there was. Since seeing it originally, I have come to learn who the original X-Men were, and it kind of surprises me that Beast, Angel and Iceman have been reduced to such minor roles. I know that X fans consider the original run to be much lesser than the Claremont era, but still, talk about re-writing origins! I'm just mad that they didn't find a way to get Gambit in the movies. I'm not a comic book guy at all but honestly...who doesn't love Gambit? EDIT: Maybe one of you comic book guys will know, but wasn't there a reason given on why Gambit wasn't in any of the movies?
  21. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 12:17 PM) All joking aside, if the organization decides that Fields is the man next year, I hope we stick with that plan for the whole year and that some of our fans understand. He's going to go through growing pains, and we're going to have to be patient with him.
