That's not what I said.... I said he was not called up the other day just so he could start 4 days later. I also said that he may end up starting. But the timing of his call up was so that he could provide help out of the pen if needed. The Sox bullpen was depleted and they needed someone to give them a few innings if needed. If that were not the case, they would have waited to call him up after they returned to Chicago from Montreal. It's just common sense boys.....

I wouldn't have minded Bajenaru or Majewski getting a shot, but after the 5th starter carousel, my guess is they wanted a veteran who has been in the bigs before.

Nope, sent to AAA. Originally, they Sox said they were going to bring up Darensbourg but not activate him until they figured out if Crede was hurt badly. If they are activating him now, and sending down a middle infielder, then Crede must be just fine. This was as of Saturday night's post-game.

A lot will depend on what positions they need.... Munoz is a definite possibility, as is Reed. Much of the Future's Game is about hype and potential, rather than current performance. Possibles for the Sox could include Reed, Munoz, Anderson, Sweeney or even Morse (although I doubt it). I would think there would be enough outfielders to keep the Sox from having two on the USA team, but who knows.

gotta figure they will move him into their rotation once they get him stretched out.....

As a general rule, the older a prospect gets, the less likely he will make a major impact in the Majors. There are exceptions, but Borchard still has time to be a nice big league player, perhaps just not one of HOF caliber.

There is NO reason to call him up today so that he can start 4 days from now, when they had an overworked bullpen. Why do you think he was warming up in the bullpen in the 8th inning? He may start Thursday or whenever the 5th guy is due to go again, but he was there today in case Jon Garland got rocked. It's not rocket science. LOL

Read it again.......... still don't see it say he was called up to be the 5th starter anywhere........ not so obvious to me.
