QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 22, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) Crede for Figgens, Figgens plays 2B and leads off, with Fields called up and into 3B. I'd do it. Of course you would, but the Angels wouldnt.

QUOTE (BurlyMan56 @ May 21, 2008 -> 11:56 PM) To get Roberts, Broadway is out of town maybe even Egbert plus others including Richar. To get Figgins, I would assume they would rather have a good minor league position player that we don't have to give. The pitching in Anaheim will be solid for the next 5 years. They are asking for top prospects, we dont have those that are tradeable. And you arent going to get figgins for some crap minor leaguers and uribe. He's hitting .306 .423 and has a career .293 BA and plays pretty much every position on the field and leads off. Would YOU trade a guy like that for the crap we have?

I just cant trade Tyrus while he has so much potential. Unfortunately I think we have seen the best of Heinrich. -

QUOTE (rangercal @ May 21, 2008 -> 11:13 AM) The Knicks are the Lime(dpbl) of the NBA. (you know what I'm talking about) pffff -
Is it fair to say that Alexei is already a better hitter than Uribe? Since Uribe got hurt and Alexei played every day he's gone 6-16 and raised his BA 50 points.

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ May 21, 2008 -> 02:49 AM) I really want Rose but like its been previously mentioned hard to go wrong either way. Knowing our luck, Paxson will go ahead and draft Brook Lopez with the first overall pick and Bulls will suck forever ;p. He trades down and drafts Love

I seriously had a feeling. As much as Beasley is going to be very good, I think you take Rose here. It would be hard to pass up a true point guard star and a leader which is what this team could need. It depends if you want Chris Paul, or a Elton Brand production guy. -
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 20, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) Well the hardest part of the Triple Crown is the Belmont Stakes. Derby and Preakness are both shorter races so I believe there are more horses who have completed that 2/3 of the Triple Crown as compared to winning the Derby and Belmont, or Preakness and Belmont. I really havent read much about Brown, or seen his race times so not sure if the longer distance will bother him. I bet it wont. He was being held back for 90 percent of this past race and still blew the doors off the other horses. There is simply no horse as fast as he is.

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ May 20, 2008 -> 09:09 AM) Here's one: The largest supermarket chains give up plastic bags. Nothing pissed me off more than when whole foods gave up their plastic bags, people like me depend on those bags to pick up our dog s***. If we dont have those, dog s*** will pile up on your lawns and sidewalks.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 19, 2008 -> 09:17 PM) It wasn't a great catch, it was a TERRIBLE angle and bad midjudgement of the ball turned into a semi over the shoulder (although not really was it even a full over the shoulder) catch. I give him no credit for that, he made the catch hard himself. Also, the people who say the NL is resurgent don't watch the games. They may have a lot of the top statistical guys offensively, but that's because the pitching in that league is AWFUL. The Cubs lineup is very good, but they never seem to see good starting pitching more than once a week. Just because the AL has a lot more good pitching and the NL a lot more good hitting doesn't mean the AL is down, it just means games are being played differently. Yeah, he made it look hard because he took an awful route to the ball and is too old to do a speed turn or move his hips. And seriously the cubs play the pirates again this weekend, what gives?

QUOTE (daa84 @ May 19, 2008 -> 02:48 PM) the tour through the national league continues in this series with houston...brian moehler, chris sampson, and shawn chacon pitch for the astros...look out oh and they get the pirates again after that When did half their schedule become the pirates?

Would you throw out the First Pitch at Wrigley?
RockRaines replied to JoeBatterz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hell no, no chance in hell. Nor would I sing the 7th inning stretch wearing a cubs jersey and saying go cubs. I would have my 83 fisk on giving the crowd a great shot of my naked ass. -
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 19, 2008 -> 01:16 AM) Basically the quote you have is exactly what happened. I think the ump thought Alexei gave up trying to get his foot back on the bag when he went for the tag. Either way, he tagged him out on time AND get his foot on the bag. He was out twice (or in two ways) but the ump called him safe. There were some beyond s***ty calls by the umps this entire road trip. Its almost comical. And I thought Alexei hit that one out when he flied to center, it looked like he crushed it.
