  1. With the age of our team and the thiness of our minor league system, Gio would be one of the last players I would trade. He is one of the few guys we have that looks like a major league prospect.
  2. i believe it was said previously that Scott is going to be left out of the starting lineup and may be traded. He has a career .366 OBP.

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 06:08 PM) People who wear their Bluetooth everywhere when they're not even on a phone call. People who go to the gym and talk on their cell phones.
  4. We were the victim of a bad hr call in the WS IIRC
  5. Seriously, I just got off the phone with my ticket rep and asked him about refunds in the event we sign Eckstein.

Job interviews where they ask you to sell them something in the room.
  7. QUOTE(Shadows @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 12:55 AM) Im not just some guy who is spouting off claims.. I have a legit 5, not just a group of my buddies I just wrangled up.. One of the guys is 6'7 and glancing over their roster they don't even have a player to stop him alone.. also considering one of the other guys was one of our better players on our high school team and has good size himself.. As for the other three, I never played basketball in high school because football was my love, but we aren't just five guys who think we can walk out onto a court and beat anyone.. Having some highschool basketball and some height is nothing compared to the talent that they have. I would say if you had a few collegiate players you may be able to play them tough, but they have some skilled bigs, some ridiculous guards, and women can shoot the lights out behind the arc.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 11:01 AM) I have known women that have done that. They just kind of cruise from serial boyfriend to serial boyfriend, but then when they have the urge to make a family, they decide "this one seems good enough". Weird. I would say that 90 percent of the girls I went to school with have gone through this process.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 10:51 AM) If they are upfront about it, the only that is contributing to the divorce rate is the guy who is dumb enough to not listen to her. I have no problem if a woman wants to set goals and be upfront about them. I do have a problem is they do not inform the other person about that stuff. My view on this is that the girl settles for a guy she is with just because it fits her timeline.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 10:36 AM) There's a big difference between gold diggers and decisive women. And those girls don't know what they want for their life, they know what they want other people to GIVE them. Big difference. Doesnt have to be gold diggers. How about the girls who just know they NEED to be married and have a baby by the time they are 30. They may not be interested in someone giving them everything, but they KNOW that this has been their plan since they were younger. They have a time line and dammit they are sticking to it. ALOT of girls are like this, and it also contributes to the divorce rate.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 10:16 AM) Really? Granted I'm young, but in my experience, having the girl be clear in what she is looking for makes everything much easier. Ugh, some girls know a little too much about what they want. They want to get engaged within 4 years, they want a certain kind of dog, they want to not work for the rest of their life, they want this kind of lexus. There are negatives to girls who have things planned out.

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 01:29 PM) Ditto. Hate them almost as much as the asshole that rides the merge lane until the last second, then almost causes an accident to get over. And how about the jerk who sees you with your turn signal on, traffic is stopped, and acts like he doesn't see you to let you in? Im the guy who blocks that lane so nobody else can pull that trick. I also despise people who sit in the left lane and do not move over so I can pass them. Its called the passing lane for a reason folks.
  13. I use steak, ground beef and sometimes put chorizo in mine. One thing I do which is somewhat different is I cook the pot about 4-5 hours then completely shut it off. I let the heat dissapate from the pot and then re-heat it just before I serve it. I also like putting sour cream on top of the bowls.
  14. Sloppy play by the Hawks last night. Im sorry I wasted my money on a ticket to watch Pat Kane be the only one on the ice who was playing. Sharpie has been ok, but players like Lang, Seabrook, Sopel, who i expect to be good players are total disappointments this far into the season. Honestly Jason Williams sucked last night, our entire defense is terrible and the team looked tired. We need several more additions to make this team decent this year. Luckily Pat Kane doesnt notice that everyone else is taking nights off.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 3, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) Trust me, I want nothing to do with Crisp. As is my entire point. We already have a backup Of'er who can produce at the same rate.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 3, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) Going into 2008 with Owens as your starting CF is stupid. With all the tough lefties in the division, you'd have to have a back-up outfielder getting way too many significant at-bats. No s*** its stupid. Even worse to have Coco Crisp at his salary, and to have lost a player for him.
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 3, 2007 -> 03:33 PM) I understand being aggressive and taking chances. But there is a difference between being really aggressive and taking risk and being stupid. He thinks he's Urban Meyer at times. Its the way you have to play a #1 team if you want an upset. Wisco was limited to 12 yards on the ground. Ouch. Jenkins had a very bad game on defense, and I dont expect that many yards through the air against a team like this. Oh well, on to Illinois. Juice will need to put up some throws to make sure we dont just pack in the defense on Mendenhall
  18. Explain to me how his performance in Sept means nothing? I dont get totally throwing out one month of the season because you deem it worthless. Based on Jerry's numbers, and his improvement, there is no doubt that him and Crisp are very similar players at extremely different price tags.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 3, 2007 -> 01:49 PM) Wisconsin just tried a fake punt on 4th and 3 at their own 25 and don't get it. Really stupid decision by their coaching staff. Thats his MO. He needed all the breaks to try and take one away from the Bucks. O-H Magic number for OSU down to 2
  20. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 05:30 PM) On August 31st, Jerry Owens was hitting .239 with a .597 OPS. He had a nice September, but he's not very good. Using your logic, he's pretty much a lock to hit .340, so why trade or sign anyone. Even Ozzie said if your not in contention, don't believe what you see in September. Why must you make stuff up to try and make a crappy point to begin with. I never said anything about him hitting .340, but when he was called up for good this season he out performed Coco Crisp for the same spot in the order they would both fill. Crisp not only costs too much, but he is way overrated by some, especially with how much people crap on Jerry. Check out the numbers, if you disagree so much, tell me why, instead of trying to fabricate my theories out of thin air.
  21. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 11:08 AM) You're kidding right? If post all star numbers are the end all, how do you come to any conclusion that Furcal is a good idea at $13 million? Keep in mind if the White Sox were playing for anything, Jerry would have been in Charlotte. Well that was when he was brought up for the second time. I guess since Furcal was not a rookie that was brought up twice thats why its not a good comparison. Coco Crisp is no better than Jerry numbers-wise and bringing the salary into the mix and its very lopsided towards Jerry.
  22. Kotchman would start at 1B. He is superb defensively and has a great OBP. No way he sits on the bench in that scenario. IN fact, forget the trade all together to the Brew crew.
  23. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 06:53 AM) Maybe at some things. Not at baseball. Hmmmm. So Post all star Jerry which is basically when he was brought back up. .278 .339 .327 27sb Crisp .268 .330 .382 28sb in twice the at bats
