  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 01:22 PM) He has 8 singles to left field at home this year and only 2 doubles in the left center gap. He used to be one of the best opposite field hitters in the game during his Twins days now he just flies out in the majority of his ABs to shallow left and center in the majority of his ABs. He's trying to get too much lift on his linedrives instead of just going with the outside pitch and working that left center field gap. He's gotten average up to .270 but he'd be so much more valuable if he just concentrated on taking the ball the other way for singles and doubles while turning on the occasional fastball rather than trying to lift the ball the other way and falling to one knee on high fastballs like he's doing now. Left center used to be his power alley. His HR against Boston in the ALDS was the stroke he used to have every at bat.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 01:06 PM) I can't believe you like Grace, he's more smug and prickish than Farmer. Who knows why, I think its cause hes my dads twin. I cant stand Farmer without Rooney. I think my dream tandem would be Rooney on PBP and Stoney doing color.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 01:03 PM) Grace is possibly the worst I've heard, I can't even watch Fox broadcasts that he does. I still can't believe he called the White Sox a "National League style ballclub." Bob Brenley is excellent. i hate you. Brenley couldnt be much worse, unless he was named Len Kasper
  4. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 12:35 PM) I would guess he has AT LEAST two more years of leeway after that Final Four run. Remember how long they let Ron Turner hang around? I got nothing against Weber, but you'd think eventually by default he'd start actually signing a few of these guys... Maybe he would have a better team if he recruits more system guys and less blue chips.............
  5. dammit someone help me out there. I suck at embedding things.
  6. heres a little song to sing while texting the special lady.
  7. There are plenty of announcers that make Hawk look great. A#1 across town are the cubs announcers, those guys are some of the worst in the biz. listening to the Reds on the radio can put you to sleep in an instant, I also despise Farmer. I miss Rooney, I like Stoney, and there are plenty of other guys that get the job done. Im prob in the minority but I even like Gracey doing the AZ broadcast.
  8. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 11:49 AM) "What the hell was Ozzie thinking, Rules of the Game as told by WSF101, Novella number 1: Listen to me, Im right" Its gonna hit the shelves soon Waiting for his repsone "I wanted Thome to play 1B" Followed by the Thome cant hit in the clutch posters.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 11:06 AM) Oh my... I can't imagine my mouth would last more than 30 seconds. My Soxtalk dream broadcast team: Anthrax and SSI
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 10:58 AM) So it is true that some dudes will endure anything for the chance, as slim as it may be, at the vagine. I think this thread speaks for itself. You have boys like this across the country texting feverously trying to get at the poon. There are guys in the friend zone that are just waiting for the chance, letting their girl of their dreams ignore them and walk all over them just for a chance with them. I think alot of these kids are so stuck in their bubble that they dont realize truly how many people are out there and how much more opportunity they will have if they just let some of it come to them.
  11. QUOTE(Beltin'Bill @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 10:57 AM) Watching last night, I think the great chemistry was heavily influenced by Stone's preparedness. I never really watch the Cubs or NL so Stone's insight in those games past was somewhat lost on me. However, his knowledge of the White Sox and the AL was impressive and made for an enjoyable viewing AND listening experience. I really have grown tired of Hawk over recent years, in particular when he takes his frequent trips down memory lane. However, when he has a guy next to him with knowledge in the here and now, the dialogue is downright enjoyable and enlightening. I sometimes suspect those trips down memory lane helps fill the void of knowledge and preparedness that a color man should provide, but DJ lacks. I could take Hawk and Stone for years to come. Stone keeps hawk in line for the most part. He pulls him away from some stories and relates it to the game at hand. I was impressed of his knowledge of our minor league system and seemed to have done his homework on alot of the direction of the team. I honestly think he should write out a report so DJ can study it before he comes back.
  12. I honestly dont think Bobby lost his fastball, I think its still there. I think he cut down his stride and took a bit off of the actual velocity to save himself for the entire season as well as injury risk and added control. Looks to be working 2006 pre ASB 2.83 1.11 WHIP post ASB 5.72 1.80 WHIP 2007 pre ASB 3.28 ERA 1.15 WHIP post ASB 2.45 ERA 0.41 WHIP his walks have decreased significantly as well.
  13. QUOTE(JenksForPrez45 @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 07:36 PM) Myers > Bukvich Although, I dont know how much Myers will be wanting salary-wise. Although my comparison with Bukvich might not be necessary due to the odds that Bukvich will be back on this team next season. Also, I would like Myers in the pen but that could take away playing time from younger guys like Wasserman, whom I am really enjoying out there... once again for everyone who doesnt understand. Myers is primarily a LOOGY. Bukvich is not. You would have to compare Myers effectiveness vs LH with that of Thorton and Boone.
  14. QUOTE(Hawkfan @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 10:06 AM) lock it up baby, i love it Hawk has really tired me out paired with DJ. Dj just seems to repeat hawkisms and not add much to the conversation. Stone appears to have done more homework on this team and its players than DJ has done in the past several seasons. I hope whoever is making the decisions is listening to the improved broadcast.
  15. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 11:43 PM) He couldnt PH for Erstad, or else Thome would have to play first, because Konerko was the DH. So he was going to have thome hit for Gonzalez and probably sub richar in the game, but thome never got to the plate Otherwise known as he doesnt know the rules of the game.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 11:36 PM) Good point, I'm sorry I forgot to put it in my post. WHY did he let Erstad hit with Thome still available?!?! So stupid, thank GOD we won this time at least. And good call Steve Stone. Go ahead and flame my post, drones. We won, so Ozzie is great!! Uhh.... Drones? You have proven time and time again that you still dont understand the workings of a baseball game. If it makes you feel like a unique person by criticizing someone who knows 1000 percent more about baseball than you do, then fine go ahead. All you have proven is that you are a repetitive poster who can only b**** about the same thing over and over.
  17. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) Really? What does this have to do with Rowand? I'll remember that next time I'm watching Thome in a clutch situation and drizzling away like he did last night and more times than I can keep track of this year. But hey: that's Thome-hate, right? Pfft. No but you are being extremely near sighted and relying on your own opinion and recollections instead of actually looking up what his numbers are.
  18. Frankly I thought that we executed perfectly with the middle of the order coming up. If he got thrown out trying to steal would you have created the thread for Ozzie sending him?
  19. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 09:24 AM) Could you imagine batting against Wasserman in one at bat and then Myers in the next at bat. Then maybe Haeger and THEN Jenks? Yikes, that would mess up any hitters timing. Once again, is he any better than what we have in Boone and Thorton?
  20. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 06:29 PM) Would you give up Danks for him? That's a big obstacle, too. NOPE. Not in a million years. I would give them Garland though and thats a big stretch for me. The o's need some sort of pitching and Garland/Gio Would be a package I would think they would be after. And I would even be borderline with that.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 05:12 PM) I could live with a Fields - Rowand - Dye OF in '08. Though I'm not convinced the Sox could afford it. That would be a nice OF with some decent pop, though the defense would worry me a bit. That means we would need to look at Richar or a FA SS as our lead off hitter.
  22. QUOTE(SoxFan77 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 03:45 PM) Because hitting in back of such greats as Corey Patterson and Kevin Millar, sure hurt his chances to do damage? Alright, In a fantasy world Miggy would be great here. But reality is, Baltimore would ask to much, We don't have the money, and we have to many holes to fill in order to have him be worthy here.. Agree? Once again, my argument was based on taking salary out of the question as I have stated several times that his salary is the obstacle.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 04:21 PM) If Tejada and Dye are both on this team next year then 2 starting pitchers will have to be traded. That's where you could see a huge decline. not if one of them is Jose.
