  1. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 01:24 PM) My alma mater is going to absolutely crush my alma mater. I also keep forgetting Maryland is in the Big Ten.
  2. Tonight's slate of games is bonerific. Just an unreal schedule.
  3. Finally started in on Assassins creed III, what a game.
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 11:17 AM) The SEC will use every single ounce of influence they have to avoid having this happen. What's really funny is that, periodically, SEC fans complain that ND's schedule is weak because they don't play any SEC teams, when the reality is that ND has been trying to schedule SEC teams for years but none of the good ones will agree to go to South Bend. Georgia finally did for 2017/19, but even then the condition was that the game in South Bend had to be in September. They would never come north for an outside game in Oct/Nov, NEVER. Unless it was mandated by a playoff...
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 07:28 PM) Been like a dream for me. You're not the only one having that problem though. Its only on my imac and not on my macbook air. I had to do some higher level troubleshooting that most people wouldnt be open to doing. I am sure they will fix it.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:56 AM) What about Houston? I've heard SMU as a logical choice though it wouldnt be for their football team at the moment.
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:46 AM) I don't see the SEC agreeing to any arrangement that might potentially have one of their teams playing in Columbus or South Bend in December. They're afraid enough to play games in the north in September--no way they will do it in December. They will if they have to, plus they are arrogant enough to think they would be one of the top 4 teams if not all 4. I mean Imagine LSU coming up to Madison WI to play in December. Think of Bama playing in deep lake effect snow in South Bend. It would be AWESOME
  8. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:41 AM) You go up to 8 teams and you start to run into the problem of people not being able to go see their team play a quarterfinal in Florida, a semifinal in Texas, and a final in California. I realize that TV money >> ticket money, but how is that going to look when the quarterfinal games are all half-empty because fans are holding out for the later games. What if they did the first round being the better seed gets a home game or a regional game?
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:40 AM) They have already publicly declared that TCU and Baylor would be "conference champions", just like everyone else. Right a shared one, and if they have one team to pick for their bowl they will pick Baylor. They also get shorted one additional game.
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:32 AM) McElwain is a good coach. But still odd he's the guy Florida locked in on and made their number 1 target. Maybe the most expensive poaching ever too. I would stay in that huge house if I was him, what a f***ing castle.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:27 AM) They won't make a change for a couple years until they're confident in the money. They'll want to know that a game that is something like TCU versus Utah or something like that will still sell out and make money in the round of 8 first. You know their hope is at least 2 SEC teams, one ACC, one Big Ten, PAC, Big 12, Notre Dame and one other big time addition from a power 5 like USC, Texas etc.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:11 AM) My dad talks about that place, he grew up in Des Plaines and always goes and hangs out with buddies there Its no Gene and Judes but its good, real good.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:24 AM) Whether that is a logical step will of course depend on how much money they make on these rounds. If they are insanely profitable for a couple years and they're confident they can sell out 4 more games and get plenty of viewers, a round of 8 will happen. If not... I know I'll be watching so I can only assume it will be popular. Who knows though. That could be another reason why they may want the most popular teams in the playoff year 1, but thats too much conspiracy for one day.
  14. The funny thing is if TCU and Baylor are left out of the playoff, the Big 12 would then select Baylor as the conference champion to represent them in their designated bowl game due to head to head. What a clusterf***
  15. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:14 AM) I don't get how this leads to an 8 team playoff. Right now we are debating the #4 spot between a team that gave up 61 points in a game and a team that lost to 6-6 Virginia Tech. And people want to open up the playoffs to teams worse than those two? Since there is only one undefeated team and they also have warts its opens up to other teams outside of the debated top 4 to other top teams that have warts as well. Its the logical next step.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:18 AM) Moves in to the last spot over who then? FSU or TCU? FSU and OSU move over top of TCU because of the extra conference championship game they play.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:14 AM) Where has the committee said anything about the conference title game being weighed very heavily? All I have seen is that a conference championship will get extra weight, which will include TCU if they win. TCU wont have a conference championship, they could win a shared one . And they've mentioned many times that the extra championship game has additional weight.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:09 AM) Personally I think it's more likely Baylor jumps OSU than OSU jumps TCU. (Although I still think Baylor's 3 non-con games are killing them) They aren't looking at Minnesota as a common opponent. They are comparing Minnesota to Virginia Tech as each team's top non-conference opponent. Everyone has their opinion. Once again the extra conference title game is weighed very heavily for the playoff. If everyone in the top 6 wins out this weekend I am willing to bet anything that OSU moves into the last spot because I am certain thats the case from what I know. But like I said, with the 3rd string QB the odds are very slim that this will happen and my guess is the 4 that are there now stay exactly the same.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:05 AM) Not a lot left for the Big 12 to choose from to get their membership back up to 12. Boise State? Colorado State? Houston? Rice? They are going to be forced to add two teams at some point due to the playoff format. Odds are someone like SMU and BYU or something of the like. Luckily for everyone the controversy that will happen this year will also help the expansion into 8 teams in the playoff which would be awesome.
  20. You have to remember conference title games are an extra game these other teams have to play. That's a huge advantage and the Big 12 not having one is what could leave them out in the cold, which is exactly what the ncaa wants is to have all power conferences organized the same way.
  21. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 07:58 AM) I don't really agree with that. TCU had 4 top 25 wins (plus Minnesota) while OSU will have had 3 if they beat Wisconsin. They shared one common opponent (Minnesota) who TCU beat more convincingly. TCU will also have a conference championship. There is no title game but there is a champion (albeit shared). TCU having a bye is kind of irrelevant since that's how the schedule shook out. Would it have made a difference if they played ISU in September and instead beat Oklahoma this week? OSU also has that terrible loss while TCU's only loss was on the road by 3 to the #6 team in the country. I think they are very similar but I see a slightly better resume right now for TCU. If one of those 4 teams were to lose OSU should be the first to move in, but if no one loses, I struggle to find justification to move any of them out You don't have to agree with it but if OSU wins you'll see that's how it shakes out. Conference title games have huge weight as well as having the best overall win. TCU will end up fifth. The common opponent is a wash since TCU played at home in the summer. And yes the timing of wins and losses means quite a bit. This isn't like a poll that you are traditionally used to, and they showed that this week.
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 07:32 AM) I don't know about that. Maybe if TCU plays brutally against ISU it could happen but if TCU rolls them as expected I don't think you can really argue that TCU does not deserve to be in the top 4. Accept OSU will have the better win, twice as many wins against .500 or better teams and the all important conference championship win. Meanwhile TCU basically has a bye.
  23. I lied and watched the whole game. Couldn't have played worse and had a chance to come back. Louisville isn't a team I would ride through the tourney. No scoring.
  24. Already in the bonus at 12 min. Turning it off. Everything about this game is garbage.
  25. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 09:14 PM) Illini open up with a 7 0 run to cut it to 6. Sorry rock thought we'd be joining you in the misery line. Someone else needs to win, we have puckered assholes.
