  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 08:47 AM) How's the rehab going, buddy? Good, pretty much 2 weeks and and a few weeks from any activity and I finally have strength in the knee. It still clicks sometimes when I straighten it, but the pain isnt there. I am trying to get back to some activity this week in the gym but taking it easy on the legs. I've probably put 5 lbs on just being inactive, and it kills me daily. I saw alot of people out for runs on friday and I was incredibly jealous.
  2. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) On a somber note, 2013 Michigan verbal Austin Hatch and his family were in plane that crashed last night. His parents were killed and he was critically injured. They were from Ft. Wayne and he went to Canterbury. Strangely and sadly enough, this is the 2nd plane crash Hatch has been in, the last being in 2003. My prayers are with the kid, what a horrible tragedy.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 03:55 PM) He's coming around lately, but the first 2 months of the season, you could really, really see Sale struggling with repeatability of his delivery and release point. Because of that, he couldn't throw anything for a strike regularly. That's a symptom of simply not being in a position where he's throwing enough pitches to get the release point down. The worry there is that if you've got one thing out of whack, suddenly you start overcorrecting other things. Overthrowing the ball or screwing with other things in your mechanics. Those type of corrections, esp. when they're happening in the big leagues where a single mistake pitch will leave the park, are the kind of things that get guys hurt or permanently knock them off kilter. Hopefully he's throwing strikes more right now because he's getting the feel back where he was last year. Thornton had the same issue, and we werent saying move him down. He's a major league pitcher and stretching him out to start wont be an issue after this season. I dont buy into his psyche being so weak that a homerun would derail his entire game.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:01 PM) The club is doing serious damage to Sale. It sickens me. I hope somehow he can pan out, but I'm very very concerned for the long-term future of both Beckham and Sale. Both had so much potential and neither has really been able to develop. The majors are a very tough place to be and it is very difficult to make decent size adjustments at the big league level. I think both would be best suited from making adjustments down in the minor, seing some success with those adjustments (and thus building confidence) and than seeing time in the majors. Heck with Sale it is more than him learning but just getting him a lot more innings so he can better develop his secondary stuff and better learn to repeat his delivery. I disagree. I think that is you are in the majors getting hitters out its much better for you than throwing to guys that will never sniff the big club, and thats regardless of being in the rotation or in the pen. Also, its not like Chris is a situational guy right now that only pitches to lefties, he can and will pitch multiple innings at a time against both lefties and righties. I think he's right where he needs to be both for him and also for the White Sox.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 02:04 PM) Anyone thinking that Mirotic is going to be any good is being kinda silly. I think his best-case scenario is Ersan Ilyasova. So everyone else's opinion is silly because it conflicts with your opinion?
  6. Probably one of the worst players to accuse of PED's. Konerko has shown he had a good year after signing a contract extension, and has really improved his swing and stance in alot of areas over the last few years. He'll have a down year in the next year or two and the talk will go back to him being out of shape and over the hill. It looks like the opinion on him only swings to the two extremes.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 07:33 AM) LOL at the Jereme Richmond era. After all the hype, all the talk, we got one season, about 7 games started, two DNP-CDs in the NCAA tournament, and he went undrafted. Classic. Yeah, total bust. Shows you talent only goes so far, you have to want it to succeed.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 12:44 AM) This move from the Flyers, I should also point out, was a Tim Thomas overreaction IMO. Was the goaltending for the 3 Stanley Cup Champions before the Bruins this year really that great? You need good goaltending to win a Cup, but not great. Luongo was a whack job all postseason, and the Canucks lost the Cup by 1 game! And to overpay for a goalie who isn't even great is insanity by the Flyers. Actually I thin even Thomas proved you dont need a franchise Goalie, he was demoted not too long ago. Terrible moves by the flyers.
  9. LOL, what a ridiculous turn for the worse this thread took last night. I cant believe Jon Diebler got drafted with what was left out there.
  10. I guess they didnt think any drafted SG would be able to play right away. Not that much of a stretch given the talent in the draft at that position.
  11. He's good, but I dont think he will carry that team. They are lucky they can take 2 very good players.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) People keep looking for the perfect 2-guard. Let's face it: after Wade and Kobe, the position is not that strong. You've got scorers who can't defend and vice versa. I'd rather have a scorer and hope that under TT and his system that they can become average defenders (think Ray Allen, Paul Pierce or even Luol Deng) than another year of Keith Bogans and his 6 PPG or another offensively-challenged SG. Very true, and there is only like one true 2 guard coming out in the draft. Not an easy position to fill.
  13. Wow, thats a fantastic post SS2K.
  14. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 12:56 PM) They NEVER said rehab, it was just a conclusion I made, based on the inferences, tone of voice, and Kane's history. Kane's history of what? Googled that too, found pictures of a 21 year old kid drunk a few times.
  15. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 06:54 AM) I started at ISU in Terre Haute, and am now at Purdue in West Lafayette. Nothing beats the Terre Haute smell. In the summer, you can't even go outside. West Lafayette is a hellhole though. Just keep telling myself one more year.... Better than Michigan, that whole state smells like hot dog water.
  16. Where the hell are all these rumors? I googled it and found jack s***.
  17. I just got back from the game. Phew I can hoenstly see why people want to take sides in an argument, but honestly I am just glad they handled it like men and are keeping it in the clubhouse. No bulls*** Cubs fights, anger mgmt etc.
  18. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 04:25 PM) Please. I can't even summon the words to respond to your post. Because you have no response. You probably didnt even take the 5 seconds it takes to look up what the guy does in the offseason, which is probably more than 99 percent of the people on this board. But instead its "he sits around and eats cinnabons." I know of several pitchers that dont pick up a ball during the offseason, and some start throwing just a few weeks before ST. Each player is different and its clear with his ridiculously consistent performance over his career that his offseason routine has been good for him.
  19. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 04:21 PM) 1? So you dont know? I figured since you thought it was ludicrous that you were an offseason training expert. I guess all his offseasons in past years were flukes.
  20. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 04:16 PM) That's very true too. The whole not swinging a bat thing in the off-season is ludicrous. How many players dont do baseball related activities in the offseason?
  21. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 01:22 PM) I agree with KW that acquiring talent outside of the organization at this point would be tough in terms of talent you would have to give up and who you are replacing (and salary). He also just put Ozzie on the spotlight in terms of Viciedo again, he has no faith that Viciedo will get sufficient playing time and we all know Ozzie won't admit defeat with JP. Its become pretty clear that KW wants Dayan up with the club and Ozzie is resisting.
