No one mentioned this on here yet? Angels promote Mike Trout from Double-A http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/...tory?id=6748299 I can't wait to see Trout play this weekend. Excellent skills and only 19 years old.

Just wanted to post out here cause I am pumped for Wednesday. One of my friends I went through elementary and high school with is going to be on Wheel of Fortune. His name is Chris, he moved from Michigan to California after college. Just wanted to tell people to watch, he hasn't said if he won or not, but I have a feeling he did pretty well.

It is funny you posted this, lately I had been thinking about something similar to this. To pass the time in one of my very boring college classes, I spent the entire time thinking about active players who have played for at least 1 team in every division. I came up with Mike Cameron and Miguel Batista.

I went into the voting site thinking I would contribute about 10 votes or so, just for the sake of contributing a little bit. Now, being bored off my ass here at work, I have voted non-stop for about 2 hours straight. Well over 400 votes. Now, I'm going to be angry if Paulie doesn't make the team . . . But hey, at least I got paid to vote.

QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 11:24 AM) I'm in regardless. I kind of thought that we couldn't suck like this for an entire season with this lineup. I agree that I won't take them seriously until they start beating up on AL teams--particularly in the division. But hey, somebody: when was the last time we had a six-game winning streak? I cannot even remember. 2006? The last 6+ game win streak was actually last season June 27th through July 3rd (7-game win streak). The last time the White Sox swept two series in a row was in 2008, they did it three times. First time was in May against San Fransisco and Cleveland, the second time was in early June against Kansas City and Minnesota, and then the third time was against the Cubs and Indians in late June-early July. But I agree with a lot of the others, although it is very exciting and getting my interest in them again with all these wins, until the Sox beat up on some tougher teams, I don't know if I really believe this team can do anything more than be a .500 team.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) I thought the original poster wanted ideas for individual names for the backs of players' shirts. I did, but actually, I am using like 4 of these for guys on the team. So thanks for the help! I read this site everyday and crack up constantly to things you guys say. I knew if I needed something funny, I could count on this place.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the help. Some of these are really good.

My bowling season starts in a week, and my team is a bunch of younger guys looking to get drunk and have fun. We get team shirts for each of us that have bowling-related nicknames on them and I need at least 6 new good ones. Last year we had some like Triple X, Banana Split, Air Strike, Countstrikeula. I am having a helluva time coming up with good new ones, and so I just wondered if anyone on here could give me some ideas or help. If anyone is really creative and possibly needs first names or last names, let me know. I wish I could get ahold of Hawk right now . . .

Jim Thome's walk-off 500th home run was the best game I've been to. That one was incredible.

I will also be going for the first time in 2009! I can't wait! -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 04:14 AM) Some of my favorites, off the top of my head: Danny Wright (actually Jason Bere Lite before the injuries, won 14 games with a bloated ERA) Josh Stewart Mike Porzio Felix Diaz Jon Adkins Nick Masset Gary Glover (blast from past) Rocky Biddle (surprised he became closer for the Expos and was sort of decent one year) Sean Tracey Arnie Munoz Matt Ginter Jon Rauch Scott Eyre (not sure if he ever started or not for us...maybe he came out of the pen?) I remember going to a game with my dad, it was against the A's. I can't remember what year, but Scott Eyre had a spot-start. He threw like, 5 perfect innings to start the game. We were really excited. I think he ended up giving up about 5 runs by the end of the game, but it was still cool to see a no-namer (at the time) be perfect for that long.

Is Crede gonna be in attendance at the Sox-Royals game on Thursday? I would certainly give him a standing O for his first at-bat as an opponent, but as many have already said, after that he is a Twin and will be rooted against accordingly.

Rumors: Sox/Reds Talking Dye for Bailey Swap
kageman129 replied to Dick Allen's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) I really kind of want this trade to happen now. I'm really excited at the possibility of all these young arms panning out, plus I'd love to than see Kenny go out and sign an Abreu & Furcal or a Dunn & Furcal. Man would that be awesome. No idea how the team will pan out next year cause with Bailey you have no idea, the rotation might just go up in flames, but man would there be some fun young players on this squad and there I love watching young players develop and perform (hopefully they perform). I completely agree with wanting this to happen. I love Dye, he's a great player and as previously stated, a proven wnner. But I just love having a younger team, and Homer Bailey, although "given up on," he is 22 years old, he's got time to pan out into something awesome. I'd love for him to pan out in a White Sox uni. -
I am so happy with how this offseason has went so far! I love getting all these young players with upside. I just hope we hang on to all of them.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 4, 2008 -> 12:23 PM) But, we ARE in the playoffs and we are for a reason. Let's hope those reasons shine again and we continue. Think positive! You are damn right! We beat the Twinkies for a reason, because we were the best in the AL Central. Now lets go out there on Sunday and kick some Tampa ass!

I am bored at work on a Saturday and no Sox game tonight . . . So I was just wondering what game (or games) you have attended that you consider your favorite. Mine would be Thome's 500th home run game. Living in Michigan, I don't get to go to tons of Sox games like I would love to do. But last year I went to 5 games, 4 of which were losses. Then the Thome home run game, which I had tickets for since April 2007. I thought for sure there would be another White Sox loss, but then Thome's walk off blast. Just awesome. My wife and I had seats right behind home plate, upper deck, but that has to be the best game I've been to. I would have loved to go to any of the Sox playoff games, but seeing a 500th home run is pretty sweet. What cool games have other been to?

Can anyone give me website links or videos of Nick Swisher's handshakes and celebrations? My bowling season is starting up today and I wanna try to have a pumped up team and have a lot of fun, so I thought some of his handshakes or jumps or whatever would be fun. Any help would be amazing. I have been searching online for awhile and can't come up with much . . . Thanks guys!

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 28, 2008 -> 09:51 AM) So apparantly the Indians have won 10 straight and are currently in 3rd place... wow, the rebuilding effect is already showing positive signs.... This makes me scared for the future, but I love that the Tigers are buried so low now . . . Shuts all those Tigers fans up.

Schilling may call it quits Apparently Curt Schilling might be retiring. I hope so, I have never liked this guy. Just seems like a douche.

I remember last year going to the last game of the season. Me and my girlfriend were in home run area seats in RF and there was the beer vendor that would go up and down the stairs doing the Batman theme song, but saying "Beer man!" It was hilarious. I like the different sayings and things that vendors have.

Josh Hamilton Presents the 2008 Home Run Derby
kageman129 replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in The Diamond Club
How are the people chosen for the HR Derby? Is there any type of voting or anything? Cause I know the players can choose not to participate, but how are those players picked? -
QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 10:36 AM) On the positive side, Vin Scully was certainly a nice break from Hawk and DJ. I know. I watched on MLB.TV and really enjoyed Vin Scully. He is very insightful and, well, actually an amazing broadcaster. Also, congrats Mark! Keep pitching this good!
