  1. Don't stop now boys. Time to put the pedal to the metal and not let up. It's a sprint to get to the playoffs, don't treat it like a marathon any longer.
  2. Yeah. I was at a Sunday afternoon game once sitting behind 1B when Allen hit a rocket that the second baseman leaped up for but it just kept rising and resulted in a home run in right center field.
  3. Fair point, but it seems like 3B is the only position this organization seems to care about defense.
  4. Dick Allen used to hit those line drives that just kept on rising. My favorite baseball player of all time.
  5. Bring Burger up. Start him at 3B. Let Yoan come in late in the game for defense. When Yoan starts hitting again gradually increase his playing time. If he's gets back to what he's supposed to be Moncada wins his starting job back and everyone is happy.
  6. I'll never forget that. I remember watching that as it occurred. Dick Allen was the most exciting player I ever saw.
  7. He was much better but I wouldn't exactly describe it as being "on fire." And included in that stretch were multiple hits off position players.
  8. He's going to be making too much money to not perform like a star. Especially for this organization.
  9. AV, Eloy and Jose are becoming quite a potent triple punch.
  10. That's what I thought. So if a runner slides home and misses the plate but the catcher doesn't notice, the home plate ump generally doesn't signal anything - safe or out. So now if the runner gets up, doesn't touch the plate and jogs back into the dugout and play resumes without the defensive team noticing, does the run just automatically count? Apparently so, but I've never really thought about it before.
  11. You know, that's a good point that I never thought of before. Who is the official score keeper? Who actually clicks the counter or whatever to declare a run has been scored?
  12. He looked safe at second to me. Edit: Never mind he was out. But at least he hustled.
