  1. Remember all of those articles about the Sox having 12 players make their debut this year? Welcome to baseball with a really young team. Inconsistency is the only thing that consistent.
  2. I guess I wouldn't risk injury to the pitchers who have been on 5 day rotation for their MLB career. There us just too much injury risk but to each his own. Telling your team tough deal with it is not a recipe for success. If he backs off that demand and signs a 1 year deal I'm all for it.
  3. What are they Kip? Lollygaggers! they lollygag around the bases. It a miracle they've won this many games. A miracle.
  4. Depends on your definition of hitter then. I guess getting on base isn't part of hitting in your definition.
  5. Garbage hitter? Revisionist history.
  6. Should be since they put up 39 points on Dallas.
  7. I bet if you ask those pitchers they will not like the idea of pitching on short rest some times and extra rest other to accommodate his pitching every 4 days.
  8. We'll see won't we. He impresses me as a guy who holds his ideas more than a couple of million dollars. Many teams will offer him a boatload of money.
  9. not sure. He just said in an interview that one of the criteria he will look at when signing next year is that he wants to pitch every 4th day.

    NOW you're getting it.
  11. If one does, that might be the team that gets him.
  12. All depends on if he sticks to these 2 ideas or not. One year deal and 5 man rotation, sign him ASAP.
  13. for me, its getting hot before the playoffs. In baseball its the hot team that wins not necessarily the best. Look at Washignton.
  14. Excellent interview. Good information about the development process into a 5 day rotation.

No doubt. It's just that there is a routine to starting that pitchers learn in college. This is something he never learned. That's why I said that he will be inconsistent until he learns these things. Not that he can't it will just take him longer than others as he doesn't have that experience. Your right about the past season. He not only would have been drafted much higher, but he also would have had the experience and made his transition a little easier.

Agree with everything but especially the bold. He wasn't a starter in college. Sale was. This will all be an immense learning curve for him. How to get ready, how to preserve his arm how to dial it back to get to 100 pitches. Not that he can't do it, just that I think he will have inconsistencies as he learns this.

I still think he is a good coach.
  18. Because he thinks he should do it all year long anyway. So it's not really any different for him.
  19. The one year deal is what makes him the ideal signing. His insistence on pitching every 4 days is a major reason to question it. He would be a good acquisition for one year.
  20. He looked exhausted after that slide into 3rd.
  21. Right field would be my preference. I really don't see any help coming from inside the organization. The Sox have a great offense but as we see hitters especially young hitters are prone to slumps and inconsistency. A veteran bat there can stabilize it.

    at an undisclosed destination.
  23. You were saying?
  24. I love how Mazara has the glove with the middle finger up in his back pocket
