MLB 2020 Catch-All thread
Interesting injury. Shoulder issue but not the rotator cuff. This goes along the line of the lat tears we have been seeing as this muscle is referred to as the "little lat."

Crap. I had nothing to do this evening. I was looking forward to just sitting and watching the game.

It's close between Cooper, KW and Renteria. It's been awhile since if heard a positive comment about any of them.

Hamilton Up, Lopez to IR with sore shoulder
The could keep up with their conditioning and then be ready to throw once camp started. They didn't get as much time in camp as usual but they also aren't expecting as many pitches either. These first couple of starts are like the last couple in a normal spring training in regards to workload.

Better that he get some work in this year against MLB hitters and continue his development than sit around doing nothing.

MLB COVID-19 outbreaks: None of as Sept 18
I'm not sure thats true. The ones I ask about in the neighborhood say that the virus isn't fatal in most age demographics so if they get it most likely they will be asymptomatic and a very very small chance they would die.

Unfortunately, Stanford eliminated 11 sports including rowing. Although I'm not sure that is a requirement based on recent events. ?

I know people make light of it but if you are truly objective it can work. My daughter was a very good high school runner. We looked at time across the nation and saw where she was competitively. She wanted to run with a large club and based on comparisons we decided it was worth the money. She ran races across the US and ran in the Junior Olympic finals. She now has a DI scholarship spread through 3 sports that pays 20,000 per year. It can be worth it if they love it and are motivated.

MLB COVID-19 outbreaks: None of as Sept 18
This season is "for entertainment purposes only" for fans and make as much money as possible for the players/owners until it becomes economically unfeasible for the owners.

MLB COVID-19 outbreaks: None of as Sept 18
Could be that or could be that both areas are hot spots right now. That's why the next few days and testing of their recent opponents will be key.

MLB COVID-19 outbreaks: None of as Sept 18
Yep. The next few days will be telling if the Marlins spread it beyond containment.

MLB COVID-19 outbreaks: None of as Sept 18
Very true. However, I think it can continue if the players truly follow the guidelines that the MLB set forth of proper mask wearing, distance in the dugout, non-playing players out of the dugout etc. It may be too late but if other teams don't have the increase, it may work. This is the balance to which I was referring. They deserve an attempt to make a living.

MLB COVID-19 outbreaks: None of as Sept 18
This is the point I try to make. Far too many people are in the "if it doesn't stop it, it not worth it" mind set.

MLB COVID-19 outbreaks: None of as Sept 18
I disagree. There is a point as to where you can mitigate the transmission. There is no true control or stopping it. We saw how the players weren't following the guidelines. If there were more strict following the guidelines it may have worked more effectively.

MLB COVID-19 outbreaks: None of as Sept 18
This is what many people don't get. Some will say "masks don't prevent the transmission." This is probably true as there is nothing that can totally stop the virus. However, it the slowing of the tramission and mitigating it as much as possible that is the key. Too many people are all or nothing.

MLB COVID-19 outbreaks: None of as Sept 18
There needs to be a balance though. These players while highly played are just like everyone else that needs to make money to live. Where do you draw the line between making a living and mitigating the spread of the virus? That is the tough question.

7/26 GT - Twins at Sox - 1:10pm
Depends on what the issue is. If it's an acute bursa issue, an injection will take care of it quickly. If it's more rotator cuff, labrum or bicep issue it could be the 6 weeks mentioned earlier which would essentially end his season.
