  1. If you've never been to spring training, watching the players and games on the backfields is a great experience. More fun than the "true" games for baseball nerds.
  2. If they sign dalman, it's a possiblity
  3. I think there is a fairly good chance Amaya starts until they think Montgomery is ready. If none of them can hit go woth defense. He looks pretty good there.
  4. I don't think they'll change tackles. So far 2 guards. I think center is next. 1st round draft will be defensive line.
  5. Must be a real mild one. Thats a quick return.
  6. They have a lot of cap space a 3 or 4 year deal would work. They need to get a center and ill he happy.
  7. At LT where they played him or at guard which is more natural position? If its for all OL, I'll take that.
  8. That's a possibility if they wind up having that many on the IL. Cheap replacement. Of course trying to off load a 20 million dollar injured player won't be easy.
  9. If he was valuable why did he get acquired for cash considerations? I'll still go with the people who evaluate the minors for a living and say that the Ks and bat to ball skills will keep him from being an mlb player of any consequence.
  10. From what most people are saying, this is true. Its just not going to happen very soon and most people here were hoping. JR will still have control as long as his health holds out.
  11. By all reports he doesn't really have much of a chance to be anything. Why bother cutting someone who is already signed and waste the resources in a year when we know they will be bad with either of them. Im not saying slater is anything great or even good. He's signed and has proven mlb experience.
  12. He hasn't yet. Neither player will help them get to .500. Both would be stop gaps until a real player is developed or signed. And neither of those is happening this year.
  13. I think it will once they get through the organizational changes. The organization was in such bad shape from the previous GM, that it will take a couple of years to reset. With the budget restrictions place on the GM, the development needs to be paramount and it takes time to get that going.
  14. Not from me. You can never have too much pitching. I think they do have many young prospects but they should keep them starting until that fails. Until that sorts itself out, they need to find bullpen help. I do think over the next few years the bullpen will be mostly homegrown talent but they aren't there yet.
  15. I agree except for the middle relievers. The bullpen was so bad it's worth taking a flyer on some to see if they can catch lightening in a bottle as receiver performances are so fickle from year to year.
  16. That would be a good idea if the prospect in question had any value. Neither player will be a long term solution and since they already signed slater to a deal it's not worth cutting a guy for another player they are going to cut.
  17. Now that would be a good idea. Thats what the last few trades have been about. Neither the kid or Slater qualify as potential talent. Like you said since it's a wasted year when everyone knows they are going to be bad, neither really matter.
  18. That's fine. You don't need to understand it it. Different people have different views on what to do with the wasted year. In the end it's all about biding time until the prospects are ready. Or until they are ready to sign actual good players.
  19. No, he is not a prospect thus prospect experts wouldn't be commenting in him.
  20. That's fine you don't need to be convinced. Im going by what the propect experts have said.
  21. Crystal ball in regards to the comment about "and he's injured" Read the paragraph where Crystal ball is mentioned
  22. Ok. Still better than the kid.
  23. Possibly. Most likely better than the kid. He was with Baltimore last year so fuller probably saw something. Did you look at his platoon stats? Forgot the crystal ball factor to include knowing he was going to be injured.
