  1. That's true. But then they would have had to wait until that point in the off season to acquire them without really knowing who was available. No matter who they acquire they aren't going to be very good and they won't be around long.
  2. Depends on what they will sign for. They at least want good character guys as the propects show up. They aren't going ti have all 22 year ilds. The union would probably file a grievance.
  3. But as a veteran would you sign a long term deal with a team going through this process right now? It's not if the Sox have the prospects to call up. It's when they will offer the longer deals and when the veterans think they have progressed enough to sign. They aren't trying to win right now.
  4. They only signed stop gap players as the goal is to start bringing up the prospects while they are intentionally losing as they rebuild. As a veteran would you sign a deal with a team where it's obvious this is the plan?
  5. Agreed. Easy access for me. Lots of room out here.
  6. That's one heck of a second opinion. Wasnt that was reported he was doing today?
  7. The jurickson profar rejuvenation plan.
  8. Dang, there is another with the same number. That's great Congratulations!
  9. Did you have your name on the video board? I saw one that said keeping the streak alive with #55, or something like that
  10. Haven't seen this many fights in the bleachers in a long time, excluding Cub games. Walked out if the bathroom and had to hit the ground as fists were flying and security taking down people. Was a great game to be at otherwise. Lots of fun.
  11. Society today. You have to vent your anger at a person.
  12. Ok, fine. I retract the statement I ever said anything about it. Amaya was only ever the real option as everyone else sucked all spring.
  13. I predicted he was going to be the starting shortstop over a month ago before any of the injuries. Even until yesterday it looked like someone else, Meidroth
  14. Eh, I'm excited just to turn the roster over and get some talented young players. I really think palette can be exciting at the end of the pen. I also like the lineup diversity a player like meidroth can bring. Something other than strikeouts.
  15. 1 or 2? Just in the lineup I see meidroth, Montgomery, Teel and quero. I guess it's more before the end of theyear not necessarily in july. I think you'll see a fair number of bullpen guys as well including coffey, Adler, palette.
  16. I think my Amaya prediction is going to come true. Yay? Not so sure.
  17. Start watching in the second half.. I think it will be correct call for the long term.
  18. Correct, and my point was there is no reason to assume this at this point.
  19. This is common in the business world. Haven't you ever heard the phrases promote them to the level of their incompetence." You promote them to get them out of the way. I'm encouraged by what I see from Getz so far. We'll see how it turns out.
  20. True, doesn't mean there will be no quality MLB players from the trades as you stated though.
  21. Yeah, didn't look comfortable. I still say the plan is to start all the retread (retreat) veterans in the first part of the year. Let all the prospects start the year in the minors then bring them up in waves as they are comfortable.
  22. Just becaisebpitchers are having a UCL reconstruction doesn't mean they aren't going to be MLB pitchers. We still have a nearly 90% rate of returning them to prior levels. If you are only looking at this year you are correct. But if you look at the totality of the career, this isn't correct.
