Difference is Atlanta is trying to win. Getz is not.
-
Still not sure if it's Wilson or Smith in the rotation Are we?
-
Thats not really true. There were physicians and others. He was just really good at his job. First million dollar AT, rumor has it anyway. Cheap JR knew where to put his money then.
-
Wow, thats digging deep. Thanks.

The fact that you don't inderstand the legal process of the medical field tells everything about your views on the medical decision process and the players Makes no difference what you think the process should be. It's the law. For everyone. An employer can't tell an employee where or how to get medical intervention. It's always their choice. Some have agreement with medical institutions so it may be cheaper. But they can't tell them what to do.
-
Of course they have influence. Everyone should take advice. The players aren't phyicians. But it is ultimately their decision. Just like the player and the agent. The player has the ultimate decision on signing a contract. It's advisable to listen to the agent and allow them to negotiate. However it's totally the players decisions.

Yes, his karma causes injuries as well. How could I forget.
-
Do you blame the actual injuries on the medical staff? Or is it the pitching coaches and their philosophy? Or is it the strength and conditioning group? Or the players off season training?
-
Garcia.
-
You be wrong. It's always the players call. They can take the advice of the team's medcial staff. Get a second opinion and take their advice. Or simply do what they want. No one can force the decision upon them.

Possible. Also possible that there is still something in his motion that is causing the same irritation. Also possible it's some muscle soreness from throwing differently. Those are the best. The worst is that he was trying to ramp up to quickly and injured the UCL. Could be anything in between. Unless you could examine the elbow there is no telling.
-
Let me ask you this. Was Thorpe under the supervision of the medical staff or had he processed to the point that the pitching coaches had taken over?
-
Thats a whole different topic on how players should be treated.
-
Sure. Who cares about the player their lives or opinions.
-
Thats true there no such thing as soreness and set backs from surgery. It's not like the Astros have a pitcher who was shut down again after surgery in 2023 from a UCL reconstruction. Only the Sox.
-
I hope he wasn't trying to rush the velocity and injured the UCL.
-
Joint inflammation or muscle recovery sorenesss would be my guess. There had to have been something that was causing the stress to have the bone spurs form. It could be in the way he extends the elbow and that is still causing an irritation or they are adjusting something in the motion to decrease that stress and soreness is popping up
-
Not saying he hasn't having issues. There are many types of issues in the elbow. Just the UCL isn't the most likely
-
That would be odd. The previous surgery was for bone spurs. This has no correlation to joint laxity or UCL issues. Unless there was something else not reported. Not like the guy from Houston who hhad a UCL reconstruction and continues to have issues there.

You don't know the power of the dark side. Let the anger flow. Appropriate.

Very little on this roster is valuable long term. They are all placeholders until the prospects arrive.
-
That can be said in many threads but I think you are correct.😆
-
True. Last year and this year the food will be the main attraction. Once the prospects come up it may shift. But until then, yeesh.
-
They are in the top 3 in my view. Boston may be better with legal seafood in the ballpark.

Going to be a good summer at the park. Brisket curds all the way.
