  1. Considering what has happened with injuries this year, I'm sure they are going to be very conservative.
  2. True. 6 innings of scoreless pitching is hard to beat for anyone.
  3. If anyone can contribute to a win for this team its a good signing. There aren't going to be many wins this.
  4. Maybe there is an individual evaluation of each player and their capabilities as opposed to we treat everyone the same. Maybe crochet insisted he wanted to be a starter and his arm felt good throughout the process and Taylor is having trouble with his arm bouncing back after only 3 inning outings. People, not necessarily you, are stating very definite views without having all the information.
  5. You have to think that his arm isn't recovering well even after just the 3 inning outings. If everything was feeling good, they wouldn't need to go to the 1 inning outings. Hopefully, he still gets enough innings in tobbuild the endurance to try starting again.
  6. Lip agreed with you? There's a surprised. There two of you usually have such objective and divergent views from one another.
  7. Talk to the Mariners, Yankees, Mets, Cubs and Dodgers who all have 2 if not 3 starters out of the rotation with injuries
  8. I'm shocked this is your take on this. Because this only happens to the White Sox players, of course.
  9. It's the backup QB syndrome. The player you don't see has to he better, until the fans see them play.
  10. Unfortunately, that is too true in society today.
  11. The real question is he better than Slater and Tauchman who will replace Palacios.
  12. Or you could look at the hitting data and realize that no 2 prospects are alike and objectively determine if you think they have a chance. Nothing is all or none.
  13. I enjoyed that discussion, very informative.
  14. It looks like he may get his innings the rest of this year in the pen. Hopefully he gets 60-80 to progress as a starter.
  15. Not like players have any responsibility for their own performance.
  16. That's pretty good. Maybe similar to baseball draft pool where the teams with the worst records get a little more to moderate the competitive balance.
  17. How about this. We know they top draft picks are guaranteed to go to the worse teams but guaranteed money. How about having a system more like baseball where Williams could have gone to let's say the Vikings, a good but not the best team but needs to sign a lesser deal for more years. That way the player can choose, bad team more money, better team more money.
  18. It a fundamental aspects of sports leagues that there is an attempt at competitive balance. All of them have drafts where the bottom tier of teams gets to acquire the new players through a draft. Without this process, unless like you said smarter people than me can figure out a solution, leagues become noncompetitive and whoever has the most money wins. All leagues takes steps to prevent this. As I said in give credit to the Williams family for not pursuing it. Of course all parents want to put their kids in the best situations. That doesn't mean you get to break all the rules to do it. Unfortunately, if you have kids in sports many parents try and succeed.
  19. Agreed. If he gets everything straight, bring him up to see how he adjusts.
  20. I don't think its necessarily just the Bears. It's that they wanted to blow up the whole nfl. Going to labor lawyers to challenge the draft, etc. It is prima donna just like Elway and Manning. Give the Williams family credit that they didn't do it. This isn't the first and won't be the last qb and family that are put in this position.
  21. Usually the goal when one team is trying to win and the other is rebuilding.
  22. Agreed. According to some reports at the time, he had opportunities to leave.
  23. I disagree with this. They tried to win and did make the playoffs 2 years in a row with paying young players early. The strategy only work for a short period of time due to no one else behind them. I will agree that they don't sell everything out to win. But its not like the GMs haven't tried to get creative under their resource restrictions.
