  1. They were shutout 8 times in the first 35 last year.
  2. Many players did. They just weren't silly enough to discuss it with the press.
  3. Om not agreeing either way. Vaughn hasn't shown anything special. Elko ks too much too be good. I'm just trying ot figure put why the Sox don't like him and that's all I can come up with. Vargas at first and Rojas at 3rd unless Ramos starts hitting is probably the best right now. Edit: I think what I agree with is that Elko won't have much of a chance for success. However ivwpild give him a chance over Vaughn, if those are the only choices.
  4. Bought one of the hats when I was there this weekend. I agree that it doesn't replace the old one but a nice variant to have.
  5. I'm not supporting anything. I'm just saying that reading between the lines of all the comments from Getz down to Thames, they want players with less swing and miss on the team and throughout the organization. Also saying that take offensive production from Charlotte with a skeptical eye because historically that ballpark inflates stats. Everyone can argue for Elko all they want but the organization doesn't seem to like what he has and his glaring weakness is swing and miss.
  6. Just like any other team going through the rebuilds, it will go up again when they start winning. Except Tampa, they never have good attendance.
  7. Good discussion the other day was the the Sox have had the lowest game starting temp by far this year. The attendancewill increase on warmer weather. Interesting discussion. The bad team is still the primary reason though.
  8. Its definitely weird. If he can keep the K rate to just bad, they may give him a chance.
  9. Not velocity specifically but the overall hitting. There's no doubt that Elko can hit it hard if he makes contact. Just all of the overall numbers will be inflated.
  10. Still Charlotte. Julks and gray have ops above 900. It's a hitters paradise.
  11. You are correct. Which is why I think they are leaving him in Charlotte.
  12. I think a large payoff it is the K rate for Elko. Thames and Fuller have talked extensively about decreasing the team swuing and miss and increasing the number of players on base. Elko is better this year but they want to see it. Also remember Elko is hitting at Charlotte. Meidroth was hitting HR there with a 600 slug. His slug in chicago is 300.
  13. That would be a lot of 19 year olds at Kanny.
  14. Wouldn't the same be true for Vaughn? If he heats up, they could at least move him for something.
  15. Isn't April historically the worst month fir both LuBob and Vaughn? Let's hope both pick it up.
  16. This is true. I dont think too many have stated that he has figured it out and is ready to become a good player. Some have not written him off as an awful player and are entertaining the idea that it's possible.
  17. Relievers as a general philosophy not specific pitchers. You'll see them gain importance and relevance.
  18. I think you'll see that start to change as starters go fewer innings and become less relevant than before. Relievers are now pitching nearly half the innings in most games.
  19. None shall pass without the trumpet of doom.
  20. As with with declaring doom for Vargas, i wouldn't declare that trade a unclear fallout yet. Check put Perez in minors. Not saying he is definitely going to a star just like Vargas but I wouldn't write it off yet. We haven't even seen albertus yet.
  21. Sure. I'll never write a player of until we see a couple of seasons. You can trumpet the doom as early as you want.
  22. Sure. One season determines their career.
