He has approved 3 year deals for pitchers. However, if they really want to do that, trade and sign him in the off season. I dont think he would be worth it in the long run. Especially with all the pitchers they have coming off injuries next year that they will need to find room for. You can never have enough pitching, but they also need to consider value.

Interesting study just published on the 2021 scouting event in the DSL. For the pitchers 93% had some rotator cuff pathology, 76% had Labrador pathology. 82% had UCL abnormalities. 70% had elbow osteophytes, 12% had non-union in the medial epiphyseal plate. 6 % of pitchers had complete tears of the UCL, 24% had partial tears. These kids are really pushing themselves just to get to these scouting events and are coming "pre-injured" to teams signing them.

I agree. But if they fire Getz now because he isn't winning RIGHT NOW, the process will start all over again because the team won't draft fir the good of the team. They will draft to save their jobs. Which means the players closest to the MLB not necessarily the best players.

Teams can really set themselves up fir failure by skipping the best player available and drafting for need. If the players are good they can trade them later for what they need. The baseball draft is a different animal than other sports though. Teams take lesser players to save money to spend on high upside players later so this can change that while philosophy.

You must want them to draft all college near ready players then. Can't take the time to develop high upside potential players.

The GM knows that he doesn't have the budget for TOR pitchers and high end power hitters. So these need to be taken in the draft and developed. As long as the high end pitcher (if that is the pick) is followed by another high tool bat like bonemer last year, its good. If both Parker and Carlson are gone. They should take a high end pitcher that fell. Can never have too much pitching, especially of that caliber.

I was able to get some as a season ticket holders. They still have sky boxes if you want to spend that.😀
