7/18 Games
Just the way rehab typically goes. The 18 months is the very conservative end and 12 months is the more accelerated end. These numbers take into account pitchers who have surgery in season so they miss one whole season just due to the timeline. Thorpe had surgery prior to the season so he should be more on the early end of the typical time as long as there are no unforseen set backs. There are always us and downs during the rehab process

7/19 Games
During a full baseball season no one is 100% healthy. Sorenesses ans aches show up. Its a grind on the body. The key is to determine what is a soreness, pain and injury. Usually the soreness especially go away with treatment. This one was progressing so they need to take a deeper look.

Two in a row? Sox at Pirates 7/19 5:40 CDT
I dont think they want Quero facing too many RHP. His ops is 565. As opposed to 983 when facing LHP. He does have more games and AB against RHP though. They seem to be slowly working it in.

7/18 Games
He had surgery on March 22. He'll be throwing before the end of the year. He'll be ready for Spring Training. Just all depends on when they decide he is strong enough and ready to face MLB hitters.

2025 Trade deadline rumors thread
I'm sure they are trying to acquire it now. However the teams trading the pitchers away are also trying to get as much as possible in return. This may not work right now. That's why the trades happen at the deadline. Negotiations on both sides give a little. They aren't willing to do that right now.

Not to hitters.

An ominous future...
No reason to open the books until the union agrees to a cap and/or floor that is a percentage of revenue. Even then its league wide not necessarily per team. They lose bargaining power if they do.

The decline of the curveball
Blyleven had one of the best I've seen in person.

Mostly because he was a fan of Gtez. People really got on him when he said positive things about him. He did get defensive about it. Not that I blame him.

The decline of the curveball
Also very easy for the ump to miss the strike call.

Players aren't allowed to "train" like Piazza did anymore.

I never said only the players. You said only management. You dont consider a player motivation as the other. Again with the has to only be one or the other view point on everything.

Sure, blame everyone but the players themselves. They have no responsibility in their own work ethic or off season work.
