  1. The most he's ever pitched in a season is 94 innings. He's at 80 so its not surprising. He's another guy who barely pitched in college and needs to be built up for MLB innings.
  2. Best thing about Fenway is that you can get Clam Chowder.
  3. No better town for breweries.
  4. Yes, it does. I hot a 350 yard drive last week in Keystone. Today in Illinois is was 290.
  5. Its got 3 decks and you can be far away but its a beautiful park with a great view.
  6. Good plan, wrong players
  7. I know they test for some "drugs of abuse" but i cant say I keep up with which specific ones.
  8. The blood doping is easy to detect by the ratio of blood cells to plasma ratio. Once the union agreed to blood tests, it made the testing procedures much more strict. HGH will change the T/E ratios. What is PRT? Not familiar with that acronym.
  9. The advantage of thr current testing procedures is they dont need to test for specific drugs any longer. With the blood tests they check the testosterone levels and testosterone/epitestosterone ratios. The dont need to know what caused the change just that there was a change. I'm sure there are still some ways to cheat as you said the cheaters are always ahead but its much more difficult now.
  10. The MLB ped testing has progressed quite a bit and its much more difficult for players to use them. They have instituted blood tests where they compare one sample to the next. So they dont need to find a specific drug, they can look for testosterone levels and testosterone/epitestosterone ratios. This makes it difficult to cheat. Not impossible but much more difficult. Part of the reason for banning them is the stress they put on your internal organs, especially the liver and heart. I wouldn't allow any of them due to the health issues.
  11. Interesting take on a large group of people.

It has 2 teams one of which won a super bowl recently. You are correct. It will be interesting.

It wouldn't be apples and oranges if they had the same rules. The teams could do many more things if they know their expenses. They draftand develop their own players because they have a cost controlled payroll and can put money into those areas. It works in all of the other leagues. Green Bay, Oklahoma City there is no way those markets could compete with LA and NY without the cap. I dont see any reason why it wouldn't work in MLB.
  14. Yeah, bonemer should be there.

I don't think so. It will make it more competitive. NFL teams like Green Bay would become the pirates if they didn't have the cap and they can improve other things around the park. Part of the reason they do that in MLB is that teams know there is no way Pittsburgh and others can compete with LA and NY for spending. Their revenues are just too great.

I know we dont agree very often but on this we agree. There will be a prolonged work stoppage. If even JR and the Sox incurred substantial debt over the last few years, most of the teams are struggling. They will push for a salary cap but probably end up with more substantial luxury tax issues. Its unfortunate as other leagues reap those benefits and it continues to cause competitive issues in baseball.
  17. The Pittsburgh Pirates are 326-464 with no playoff appearances.
  18. I know. Just a general reply to the topic and ine commrnt.
  19. Its not that they cant build there. They question us, would is the cost. The MLS stadium is half the size. Maybe the engineering costs are to great for an MLB stadium to be economically feasible.
  20. No. Don't add more innings than needed. The Sox need those to count.
  21. Players who have been successful their entire lives doing things one way are very resistant to change until they run into lack if success or another issue like an injury. Players aren't going to change anything while they are being successful no matter what any person or data tells them.
  22. Rate capacity was lowered as well when they took off the top few rows. The seat i sat in for the first game there no longer exists.
  23. That's a really small stadium. Has to be the smallest in MLB for a permanent home.
