  1. I definitely agree with the last part. Take whatever you can get. Time to move on.
  2. Anderson is ok. He's entertaining but absolutely discounts anything that doesn't have to do with numbers. His views are only from that perspective.
  3. I guess we'll see. They actually own the team so that's up to them. Most fan bases say the same thing about owners. I dont think there are that many hands off owners. Some just are willing to spend into debt than others.
  4. I don't think Ishbia is a stay out of the way type of owner. I know his brother is the primary in Phoenix but look what the group did there.
  5. I rarely complain as I dont pretend to know the actual value of the prospects or what other teams have offered.
  6. Most will complain regardless.
  7. Salaries artificially suppressed? The current arbitration system artificially raises salary with no ability for the arbiter to find a middle ground.
  8. Many seem to. All in the name of sticking it to the owners. Very much a divide of union against ownership regardless of the effect on the game.
  9. Don't see how they can argue that the league has a competitive issue. Its currently a league of have and have nots with revenue. If they want the elites to always have the best chance to win, its fine but dont pretend its really good for the game.
  10. We'll see. The middle of the road players may over rule the elite. The elite dont always speak for the whole union.
  11. You are missing the overall point. The lane is that whatever the Sox do is wrong regardless of the situation, circumstances or opinion.
  12. Only if they are ready. Many a prospect can be set back if there aren't mentally ready.
  13. One of the crazier concerts I've been to.
  14. Maybe to showcase for trade value?
  15. I think we've been saying it for a while. There may not be MLB baseball in 2027. That's the drastic scenario but I think there will be a significant number of games missed.
  16. No the union shouldn't totally give in. There needs to be some benefit to them as well. That's why there is the negotiation. Getting a cap would be a big give for thr union. They should get something big in return. Maybe a high floor? Greater revenue sharing for the union issues?
  17. Its a given that would have to happen fir a salary cap/floor. They need to have the number so they can work the percentage of it.
  18. It will be interesting. The union will need to acknowledge the state of the game with regional sports networks not bringing in the same revenue and teams having significant debt. The revenue and competitive disparity is going to continue to grow. This is not good for the game. There are more ways than just a salary cap to accomplish this so it will be interesting to watch.
  19. Any leader in business or anything else should talk to others at periodic times to listen and then talk about goals and what we want to do going forward. I have the accountability discussion with my student at the beginning of each semester, among other things.
  20. This is the reason for the "character" in the draft process you were complaining about. Better character and work ethic, the fewer of these types of problems.
  21. Who said there was a problem? Since it was Friday sounds like a "here are the goals for the second half" type of thing.
  22. And tied with the blue jays
  23. I think this year there are enough promising young players that they know there is something to look forward to. Even if they aren't winning there is that possible future. Last year was more retread veterans as a stop gap until the young prospects arrived this year. They knew it was nothing last year.
  24. Its always possible. Conservative treatment doesn't always work.
