  1. Because a star player at 75% is still better than his replacement at 100% at giving the team a chance to win. Depends on who is hurt.
  2. It's very doubtful the MRI showed much of anything. In this case it was most likely "we didn't see much so we'll call it a grade 1." All strains will take at least a week to heal even the most mild ones. If they were in contention he would probably be playing.

Saving money on the draft slot when they signed nearly every worthwhile player is a bad thing? I agree with the international money.

They don't have the worst record. Baltimore and Seattle are worse and they are tied with KC and Minnesota from 2008-2018. If you include Houston between the NL and AL they are only 2 wins off. So near the bottom but not the worst, for the record.
  5. I dont understand this comment. Why would he give an FU to partners when he is the Chairman?
  6. Didn't Navarro get 4 as well? I think floyd bannister got 5 too.

oblique is an abdominal muscle so you were correct.

wow. mediocre owner. that's the most positive things you've ever said about mangement.

everything and anything to be negative about management.
  10. Progress of the young players is all that really matter or mattered for this entire season.
  11. I've been to a few games where Goins has started and I've been pretty impressed by him. He's looked good hitting as well as at short and 3rd.
  12. Yes it can. If the the prospects produce as expected they will all become expensive in 5-7 years. Giolito and moncada in 4, Jimenez and kopech in 5, cease in 6, madrigal and Robert in 7. I would prefer to pay the players from in the organization who you know and know the medical history as opposed to an aging pitcher in the 7 and 8 years of a contract.
  13. I dont think its necessarily "want to" either. What they dont want to do is have such a long term deal that it cripples the team down the road. They will always have a budget limit and paying someone in 6 years who is aging will hurt the competitiveness of the team.
  14. As are you with your proposals.
  15. As I said said in a previous thread, the FO should never listen to fans, ever.
  16. Your math doesnt make sense. If they carry 13 pitchers. 1. Giolito 2. Cease 3. Kopech 4. Colome 5. Bummer 6. Fry 7. Lopez 8. Marshall I see 6 possible spots.
  17. Nor should they when it comes to trades. Have you seen some of the emotional swings and proposals on this site? The worst thing a team can do is listen to fans when it comes to transactions.

I know the Hostetler mention this when they drafted Sheets.
  19. complain about how poorly a rebuilding team with 2 if their best hitters are hurt then. not about the awful future with no hope.
  20. Also becomes more unstable and rough as opposed to cooler air which is more stable.
  21. Temperature also factors into this equation especially at higher altitudes.
  22. Sorry it wasn't meant that way. Just that when people blame the "trainer" for the condition or preparation of an athlete, they continually refer the the athletic training staff with Brain Ball and his group and it is wholly incorrect. One group is medically based and licensed, the other is not. As I am a licensed physio and athletic trainer but have never been a strength/ condition coach. So it's not pedantry.
  23. My first few lectures in my biomechanics courses are all reviews of the physics of forces and vectors. The students hate those physics problems on their exams. They don't get it ntil later that the body is nothing more than the sum of the forces and vectors placed upon it and the ones it generates.
