If it's more than a grade 3 injury, they have to do the surgery.
Mickey's issue was the abundance of scar tissue after the surgery not a problem with the UCL. It was an arthroscopic procedure to clean up the tissue. That doesnt happen often but with the nerve and arteries in the area, it needs to be cleaned up.
It's his throwing arm so it will depend on the extent of the injury. If it completely torn, the could brace him, DH him for awhile. However, he would probably need surgery by the end of August to be ready for next season.
I agree. This wasnt a case of him going for the ball awkwardly or trying to put his foot on the wall. This was him making a good aggressive play for the ball. If Tilson wasnt there it wouldnt have been an issue. This was a communication issue not a bad outfield play issue like the ankle injury.
I think it's possible. You really can't tell by the replay. It does look more hyperextended-ish but you really can't tell. The more extension position of your elbow, the harder it is to injure the UCL. The fact that they immediately sent him home and put him on the IL isn't a good sign.
UCL injuries are common in real wrestling and football. But because they dont throw it isn't that important to have surgery. I tore mine snowboarding in 1992. I can live fine without it.
I think he is going to have the same issues as Moncada did last year. he is so selective that it makes him too passive. It works in the minors but not the majors. He is going to need to learn to be selective but more aggressive as Moncada seems to have learned.
not alluding to luck at all. I'm talking about not faulting the FO on an injured draft pick.
Many people have tried over the years to predict injuries. There will never be any hard rules because people are different anatomically. We all have certain things to look at and have our biases. Like mine with Rodon. I said they day they drafted him and I watched his motion that i didn't like his follow through and it would lead to problems. However, others have used it and not had problems. We can narrow it down to a few things but it will never be a strong causation/correlation. People will continue to look for the magic formula because it will make them rich in sports.
I loved that old stadium. This promotion may have gone wrong but it was still a better idea than his "free vasectomy night" he had when he was in St.Paul.
Look at some of the CEOs who get 10s of millions bonuses while the companies lose money. I think they are in the same category and they dont have people live and on chat boards calling them names.
I disagree. The game is only for the fans to see their favorite players. It's purely for fun and entertainment. The players should be only who the fans want.
I do agree there should only be 1 vote per fan.
How about he was recovered from the injury. If he comes all the way back to his previous level of play is another story.
Besides it's very possible his decreased stuff was due to the elbow issues. He was having them for a while. He may have been overthrowing trying to come back from the shoulder.
