Job Thread
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Those that live in the past show/promote depression. Those that live in the future promote anxiety. Those that live in the present promote peace.

I wouldnt have booed either but I get it. The soft stuff is garbage. Only that person can decide how much they can take. Others may have been able to take more, others may have quit after the neck issue.

All players get playoff money from the NFL for each round of the playoffs.

That's fine if you want to look at it that way. I just dont like treating people that way. Leadership has very little control when a person decides to quit/leave. Very few NFL teams carry 2 starting quality QBs. They just cost too much. How you someone view the Bears season if Trubiskey retired today? Again dont get me wrong. He has every right to quit with the issues he's having. He just picked an awful time to do it and I dont blame some people if they are upset about it.

Never said he owes them anything. Just like my co-workers owe me nothing. However, when I leave a job, I've always given enough notice to not put my co-workers in a bind. He doesn't owe anyone anything. Doesn't mean it's not a crappy thing to do and I don't blame some people for resenting it.

I'm sure they do in public. No one is going air that stuff out in public. And like I said it's not the starters or top 30 on the team that are really impacted, it's the 35-53 players on the depth chart.

Owes nothing, no. Did he screw over his teammates, yes.

In your job you probably dont cost your co-workers who make a lot less money than you do sizable bonuses. The other players on the team especially the 35-53 players on the depth chart, who are sacrificing their bodies for a lot less money and who will play only a few years in the league, could really use that playoff bonus money. With him they probably make the playoffs, without him not a chance. Again he has every right to do it but the timing really has a direct impact on many other people.

Luis Robert and Nick Madrigal
Agreed. I no it won't happen but I hope people have patience with him. It will take time to adjust his approach. He's is like Eloy in that the talent is at the level that he didn't need to make the adjustments in the minors.

And That's a White Sox Winner-8/25/19
See other comments in the thread about winning. People complain about not winning and when they win they complain about the players who played poorly.

There is no news or drama in positive things like winning.

Getting robbed/what has come of society, etc?
Just depends what environment you want. We have never locked our doors or cars. The farmers market has a box to put the money in when you buy something.

The fans and team have every right to be mad at him. He waited until the team has no opportunity to get another starting QB to retire. He screwed the team first the season. Not intentionally, but he did. Now that being said, if he is just tired of the pain and hurting, he has every right to hang it up. No one should question his right to do it, he just couldn't pick a worse time. It will just look worse in the media because he doesnt have a "career threatening" injury.

8/25 Games
Is great falls really playing a game that starts at 11:33 PM or is that a mistake?

8/25- Sox vs Rangers, 1:10, NBCSC
I was at the game last night. my season tickets are in the outfield. the all dark uniforms blended into the umps uniform and stands and you couldn't see anything about the players swing. it was annoying.

too true.

no runs are worthless. if they have more of them than the other team they tend to win more.

Sports Media discussion
No doubt. However, I personally dont find the constant demeaning of people and the arrogance of the hosts entertaining. That's why I still can't listen to Bernstein. He was good when he was a part time weekend host. He had a lot of fun and good ideas.

Yeah. The starting QB leaving the team less than 2 weeks before the season starts will endear him to nobody. His teammates will say all the right things but he won't be invited to any team parties.

There is also a tangible benefit to experience the MLB for a month to have them better prepared for next year.

Why is it s stretch? They sent him down to work in specific things and he is implementing them with success. That can't be viewed as any but a success.

Renteria goes on pregame anti-analytics rant
That's kind if my point. It doesnt matter if Jay is playing because none of the others are good options either. None of them will be starting next year.

Renteria goes on pregame anti-analytics rant
Why not? None of them are any good. If he was playing any of the others the case could be made for Jay to take their spot. The only winning move is not to play.
