  1. There is bad and then there is overall incompetence. I don't think anyone expected ALL of the players to be bad. People were hoping that some players would show that they were capable of playing for a competitive team. The only players that have really shown they can be really good players are Abreu and Fry? Anderson, Moncada and Lopez look to be above average but no of them is really showing star potential. If the Sox want to compete in 2020 others on this team will need to show something. Right now the window for competition looks more like 2021 or 2022.
  2. I think it was an HR dance. That is one thing they are pretty good at. Alway focus on the positives.
  3. You dont need to go back that far. In 1997 the NBA suspended a player for not standing or staying in the locker room during the national anthem then instituted a rule saying players had to stand. That player was out of the league when he was 29.
  4. No. It doesnt matter beause he cant throw the off speed pitches for strikes consistently.
  5. You mean the Sox arent a good team? Who knew?
  6. Error on the shortstop. That position is designated as 6. Pitcher 1, catcher 2, 1B 3, 2B 4, 3B 5, SS 6.
  7. I couldn't watch the game but how did they score 7 runs off Lopez with 8 hits and one walk? Nearly everybody that reached nase scored. Thats tough to do.
  8. I believe I said multiple times last year that if the sox have a brutal season this year it doesn't bode well for the Sox to be a contender anytime soon. What pieces right now look like they can contribute to a winning team? As good as Lopez has looked would you classify him as a #3 starter on a contending team?
  9. This were the first things I looked at then noticed while these didn't correlate really with the runs scored. Slugging% is in the top third and OBP was still better than 8 but the runs scored is near bottom. So for whatever reason the are scoring fewer runs than what the typical predictors would say, even with the 2 game difference for some teams. Are they unlucky and should improve just with the variance or do they not hit at the right times? I don't know if it really means anything it's just interesting.
  10. I agree. The character development was beneficial for the storyline. Not essential but it does make it more enjoyable.
  11. The pitching has been slightly better than the hitting for runs scored. They are 4th worst in hitting and only 5th worst pitching. They need Jimenez a little more if you want to make them fun to watch. Although i noticed something interesting about the sox OPS. They have a higher OPS than 17 other teams and are almost league average. However the are near the bottom of runs scored. Not really sure what it means other than they cant score runs.
  12. Covey has had 1 good, 1 ok and 1 bad start. This is considered the verge of putting things together?
  13. Maybe less time but they will have roughly the same number of at bats in AA. I will personally bet one of Gregs houses on it.
  14. In no way should his development be dictated by how good or bad the White Sox is playing. He will quickly be the most important piece on that team. All promotions or lack thereof should be based strictly on what is best for his development. And that's all I have to say about that...................................................................again.
  15. He seems to have difficulty getting his CB called for strikes even when it is in the zone.
  16. I saw it last night. This movie reminded me of the Lucas era movies with more story and not built around action. The recent Disney movies seem to be action movies with story thrown in. I really enjoyed this aspect. It's like the rest phase of a workout. The break is needed to make the workout portion more effective.
  17. They should wait at least until he has a full season of RH at bats before they think of significant changes. Think about a player with only 117 at bats for their career, that's nothing.
  18. I don't think many hitters do that anymore. Most of the hitters today swing for the fences on all counts. It's all about slugging %.
  19. This is exactly the case. Giolito can't have anymore of the 2 inning outings. He needs to do his learning at the MLB level but it can't be at the expense of other players.
  20. Not only that but it's not a good sign that they did a PRP AFTER a normal healing period of time. His rehab will be longer than normal. Teams will question whether that hamstring will hold up. This will decrease his value as well. He will absorb a lot of magnetic waves with all of the MRI he will have before another team team trades/signs him.
