  1. Wasn't the quote by JR something to the effect of "one decision-maker?" It sounded like the GM would be the President of Baseball Operations.
  2. It was a great throw. If Robert had slid low he wouldn't have been able to make that high tag though.
  3. Cease bobble head day.
  4. I was at the game. Good game to watch. Very few people there. Easy tacos and fat tire access.
  5. Season tickets were down in 2023 because they lost and didn't meet expectations in 2022.
  6. Really. Not my experience. Everything is much easier with fewer fans. Maybe the stands at the top of our sections are just primary ones.
  7. Congratulations. You're right. No one said fans are mindless. Bandwagon is probably a good description. Why does the team have the largest drop in fan attendance? It was the same people running the team except for Grifol. So unless you think think TLR was a a fan draw this year, it's because of the losing this year.
  8. True. But at the end of the day none of it matters. All of the fan outrage and media storm about all of the fan apathy is only tied to winning.
  9. If it does happen and they win, no one will care about not hiring from outside the organization.
  10. So the real answer is the moves don't matter. Only if they win. It's possible the moves won't help them win. It's also possible, however unlikely, that they will help the team win. Either way, it's winning will cause interest by the fans and losing will cause disinterest.
  11. Makes getting beer and food at the ballpark easier that's for sure. Fans will return if they win. This will have no bearing on fan interest.

    I do that every time.
  13. I know I wasn't necessarily questioning your comment just that general line of thinking as others have brought it up as well.
  14. Aren't many of the GM's non-MLB players in todays game. Did Theo Epstien play MLB? How about Kim Ng? I don't think Brian Cashman ever played either.
  15. Might as well start the thread now.
  16. I hope it's not Epstein. He couldn't draft and develop pitchers for anything.
  17. I would prefer the Bears don't get a dome. However for practicality and financial reason, I understand why they will.

Thanks for saying the games were on MLB. TV. Didn't know that. Watching now.
  19. Got it. I'm at the game and really can't see that.
  20. According to gamecast he had both of those first 2 hitters struck out. At one point 5 of 7 balls called balls were strikes.
  21. High school pitchers are high risk.
  22. Is that the phone plan or just the home plan through Verizon?
