Dave Scherer of PwInsider said yesterday on his hotline that he's been unable to confirm the Booker rumors - so take any "news" with a grain of salt. He is however, on 60-day suspension right now. Brock Lesnar is going to UFC - supposedly, they're finalizing the deal.

this is from 2004? What happened next?

saw Rush last month at the Hollywood Bowl - they played almost nothing but their new album (which meant I didnt know any of the songs) but you know what? I LOVED IT. They're amazing musicians, and just being there was awesome - who cares if I didnt know any of the songs. Also, I'm a punk rocker, so I didnt want to admit that I had even been there, let alone like what I heard, but I loved it - they were brilliant. What do you call someone who hangs around musicans? Drummer.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 10, 2007 -> 10:26 AM) Lords Of Pain is mirroring Meltzer's report that Booker quit because he was facing a 60-day suspension rather than 30, since Vince determined Booker had a previous Wellness Program violation. Booker was also upset that Vince chose to pull WWE talent from Booker's indie fed, choosing to start a new developmental fed in Florida instead. Booker then reportedly used some TNA contacts to supply wrestlers for his fed, which pissed Vince off. They reported that Booker has a successful hip-hop store and two wrestling schools, so even if he chooses not to go to TNA he'll be fine. Can we get a reputable link to this story? Can't find it on the Observer site. Also, I would like to take a bow for predicting Hornswoggle at the beginning of this storyline. I'm looking for the link now to prove it. This was the best way to book this storyline now that Kennedy's gotten himself suspended. Vince should be used for comedy - he's not gonna get anyone over the way he booked himself with Lashley.

It's not that I'm that big of a 50 Cent fan - I don't own any of his cd previously, bu now I will be buying Curtis on tuesday as I want him to beat Kanye. Kanye to me is super overrated - and he's completely full of himself. What an ass. and that Jesus Walks song pisses me off.

160 gigs? I love it - but now I'll have to buy a new harddrive for my computer. How much for a 200gig removable hd?

I went to WM 22 at Allstate - got floor tickets for $250. good stuff.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 11:14 PM) Fun Midwest powerpop. Cool. Where did they play? They would have been right at home at Mabel's back in dinosaur days – coulda opened up for Combo Audio or Material Issue by the sound of them. You had me at ISH - best Chicago band Ever. I will buy 50 Cent as I HATE Kanye West with a passion. When will people wake up to the fact that he SUCKS?

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Sep 3, 2007 -> 06:51 PM) I find myself happier watching shows like Joe vs Punk II instead of watching the E programming. I watched the undercard tonight and am saving Joe/Punk for tomorrow night when I don't have stuff I need to be doing. That Shelley/Jacobs "I Quit" match was pretty entertaining. Can't wait for my next paycheck. I am going to order the two ROH in Japan shows and Good Times Great Memories (or I may just get them when I am at the 9.15 show in Chicago Ridge for the 3rd PPV taping), an ROH CM Punk shirt and perhaps the NRC shirt. That NRC shirt is pretty freaking sweet. And speaking of the 9.15 show in the Ridge -- any Soxtalkers here going? I am banking on getting GA tickets or 6th/7th row during walkup. Announced matches so far: Matt Sydal vs Delirious Daizee Haze + Amazing Kong vs Sara Del Ray and Lacey The Briscoes vs Steenerico for the ROH Tag Titles in the first ever ROH Ladder Match Now there's a smart man. I wish I could go. About the E happenings - yes, Orton had already served his suspension. Looking like Booker's gone for 60 days - it's his 2nd suspension. Cryme Tyme was released because they couldnt agree on a finish with Cade & Murdoch - Cade decided to rib them and told referee Marty Elias to count them out. After the count-out, CT hit their finisher on Elias, and then auctioned off his belt. They were released mostly because they refused to apologize afterward. WWE is enforcing that No Tolerance policy right about now and aren't happy about wrestlers making waves. My thought - they will be back. "Money money yeah yeah" was getting ridiculously over. Kennedy is an idiot - he blew the biggest push ever. Vince's new son - Hornswoggle. PWInsider is awesome.

Thanks Kyyle for the source and the quote. This SI article goes a little bit more in depth: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/more...lers/index.html So it looks like Morrison & Umaga will be dropping belts as they exit for a month. It will be interesting to see how the tapings go this weekend - if guys will just be not mentioned, or if there will be a storyline reason for Orton, Kennedy, and others not on the tube. Also, if the Wellness Policy was implemented in Feb 2006, and even if the wrestlers were only buying 5 months ago, that's still after the Policy was started. Also, for those of you talking about Joe leaving TNA, he posted this on his myspace: "Former X-Division champion Samoa Joe has been telling people that he would rather accept an entry level WWE contract (believed to be $50,000 per year), rather than resigning with TNA. Joe is not happy in TNA, and doesn't want to stay with the company when his current contract expires." This statement is untrue because of one tell all reason. "he would rather accept an entry level WWE contract (believed to be $50,000 per year), rather than resigning with TNA." Buuuuuuuuuull*****, Are you crazy? I really really like money! You see, the goal as a career pro wrestler is to work hard, make money, and hopefully have a life that is somewhat of a comfortable experience in your latter years. Do many of us succeed? Well, no but a Kid can dream can't he? The only reason why I choose to openly refute this rumor is because in all honesty it makes me look SO UNCOOL around the office! I mean when you make up cool rumors that make me seem all super rebellious and anti authority I just ride with it, but when you make up rumors that I am going to work just as hard for less money, well that just make me feel that you think I would be dumb enough to do something like that. In closing, My name is Samoa Joe and You can watch me & TNA Wrestling on SPIKE TV..

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 02:58 PM) This situation stems from the man raided as part of the Benoit investigation, right? I'm willing to jump to conclusions that it is steroids. So much for "benefit of the doubt." and to reiterate my ever-consistent theme, who cares? So they're on drugs - who cares? let em.
-
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 02:41 PM) Jesus. Every single person on the roster may be on steroids. There goes a bunch of my favorites. Or they may not - let's not jump to conclusions. "Drugs" can be anything.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 07:38 AM) The Suspiria remake pisses me off more than any other probably. That is one that just CAN'T be re-done. It's Argento, in his prime. His style, his direction, is what makes it work. You can't tell me it's a great story that can be told again and again. The story is simple, it's what he did with the look that makes it a classic. It would be like remaking The Beyond almost. There is very little story, it was just an excuse for a director to show off his skills with atmosphere, color, and intense shocks. The other aspect of a Suspiria remake, who would they get to do the soundtrack? Hire Goblin again and you are obviously "remaking" it and fully intending comparisons. Don't hire them and you lose one of the key ingredients to what made the movie work. Dude, chill out. Foreign films, even foreign classics - SHOULD be remade for American audiences. It doesn't do anything to the original. They're still there. The Magnificent Seven, Star Wars, The Ring, The Grudge, etc - all remakes that should have been made. They should remake Inferno, the Stendhal Syndrome, Deep Red next. There's money to be made - why not?

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 06:28 AM) Variety ripped the new Halloween. Supposedly Zombie takes all the mystery out of Meyers and turns the film into a blood and guts fest. I understand that Variety just doesn't like Horror, but everything in the review tells me that Zombie just doesn't "get it" when it comes to Halloween. Let him do remakes of the films he was obviously most influenced by, stuff like Last House On The Left and I Spit On Your Grave. I'll see this one on a double bill with the Texas Chainsaw and Psycho remakes. That means "never". Can we wait until it comes out to slam it?

Michael Vick Accepts Plea Deal Per ESPN
longshot7 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I have to say - after hearing his apology, and especially after his guilty plea, and I've given this a lot of thought, I really think he deserves the death penalty. -
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 28, 2007 -> 10:17 AM) Remember the days when a band would list their tours on the backs of shirts and there would be atleast 100 dates??? I've noticed this more and more, a band goes on tour and only does about 20 dates. There really is no such thing as a "World Tour" anymore. Sad, really. there is, but nowadays, a band has a different shirt for each region - to make more money, y'know. btw, the new Talib Kweli album is frakking brilliant. Finally, a store-bought CD I can be excited about. Everything else I'm pushing this year are local LA bands - 100 times better than whatever is cool, trendy or on mainstream radio.
