QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 11:14 AM) <!--quoteo(post=1464507:date=Jul 2, 2007 -> 12:29 PM:name=NorthSideSox72)-->QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 12:29 PM) <!--quotec-->Ah yes, that wonderful electoral college. Can we please get rid of that now? Since it effectively disenfranchises about 80% of the country in its current form? And a popular vote wouldn't? Sorry. I don't think some candidate is going to suddenly start to value smaller places anymore because they now change the electoral process. If anything it would just disenfranchise other people because now they wouldn't value lesser populated areas anymore, because there would be no incentive to care about place that weren't densely populated. Its just like many things, the framers of the consitiution put in protections to ensure that certian groups of people maintained their voices. The small states were one of those main groups the framers looked to protect. f*** the small states. Large states should have more of a say anyway. Gore won that 2000 election. Do we want that debacle to happen again?

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 04:00 PM) From the "Clearly, both sides have gone off the deep end and all the problems in Washington are the fault of both sides" file: Good thing they didnt use the nuclear option.

Orton fell so far in the months after he got destroyed by Triple H at Unforgiven 04/Royal Rumble 05, he's just now starting to actually look okay. I'm not ready to give him props yet, especially since he's reportedly a total ass backstage, but he's gotten better. I think he's been watching Edge the past year or so, and finally learning how to act like a true heel. We'll see. I don't have a problem with him going over Cena, if he cheats and gets away with it - as long as they don't turn around and have him drop it right away. However, I don't see it happening. If they didn't put Lashley over Cena, who the McMahons love, I doubt Orton will be going over either.
-
Also, I'm predicting here - There is NO WAY Orton is going over Cena. NONE. Orton and Trips can feud without the belt.
-
That Storm thing is awesome - what's on there? Apparently, Jackass (specifically Johnny Knoxville) pulled out of Summerslam, which is why WWE pulled the trigger on keeping the Hardy feud alive. Orton was supposed to wrestle Cody Rhodes at SS, but with the decision to move Lashley away from Cena (even though their Bash match was pretty good), they needed a top heel for Cena. Also, down the road for Orton is still Triple H, I hear. I wonder, can a guy get "Orton'd" TWICE?
-
MHizzle - who's that in your avatar?

I thought the Bash last night was pretty good. All the one-on-one matches, with the exception of the stipulation matches, were all good. The Triple-Threat was craptacular, and Cena/Lashley was also good. Guess that's the end of that feud for now - it's too bad. guess the crowd sucked live - but it was loud at the bar I was at.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 08:07 AM) When my dad and I saw 'Casino Royale', a guy next to use said he didn't like it because it was 'fake and unrealistic'. I told him not to see 'Happy Feet' because it has talking and singing penguins. LOL - that's what I tell people who knock wrestling. I liked HP - but it did rush. Transformers was great. Seeing Black Sheep this week - has anyone seen the preview for that? (not the Chris Farley movie)

Welcome back! My satellite's been out the last week, and to tell you the truth, I don't miss the WWE programming. But my randon thoughts about the recaps I've read. Morrison? WTF? Johnny NITRO was a GREAT character. How stupid. Punk to win the belt on Sunday? Smackdown is a disaster. Edge is one of my favs and now I'm crying. I don't like him as a worker, but they should put the belt on Kane this weekend. He deserves it, and in this musical chairs booking, why not? I'd prefer Matt Hardy but that'll never happen. ROH PPV this weekend - FINALLY! Can't wait - and yes, I've avoided spoilers this long, so don't ruin it for me. Talk about TNA moving Bound for Glory away from Chicago. I hate it beause I was gonna fly in for it, but with two other ppv's in a month, it's smart to go somewhere else. Hey TNA, come to LA! I picked the wrong week to stop taking amphetamines.

who's the girl on the left?

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 11, 2007 -> 01:52 PM) I'm guessing how Styles & Tazz were putting him over last night, he's supposed to be "more aggressive" and "edgier". I think the higher-ups think he could be a decent talent. If so, they should have kept him as a heel. People (men) don't want to cheer him. And he can't be both. I'm sick of all the washed-up wrestlers like Lanny Poffo & Jacques Rougeau commenting on this Benoit/steroid stuff. Hannity & Colmes can't find CURRENT stars to comment? Mr. Kennedy had a GREAT rant about this on his blog. www.ken-kennedy.com

Satelite Radio is great - Howard Stern every morning, and then music. If something big happens, then I'll turn on DP. Well, I will until Aug 17. -
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 09:22 PM) Played a Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero buried alive match on SVR, does that make me a bad person? When was that match from? and yes to your second question. ECW was fun. Vis had bigger tits than most of the women I've been with. Yikes. and how stupid did Extreme Expose come off as? Yeah, they're all in love with the Miz, who we've seen is a total idiot on Smackdown. I believe that. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 08:58 AM) WTF?!?!? are you serious? Colin is the best radio guy I've heard in probably ever. Funny, Smart, Realistic, and doesn't do the "ESPN says we should talk about this ALL DAY LONG, so that's what we're going to talk about all day long" like Mike and Mike and Dan P. It's SO refreshing. He's HORRIBLE - he hates baseball - doesn't know absolutely anything about wrestling, and when the football season starts, he completely ignores every other sport going on. -
QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 04:17 PM) Interesting. Chicago will have 3 PPV's come to town in a month and a half period. 9/15-ROH PPV Taping 10/7-WWE No Mercy 10/14-TNA Bound For Glory I wonder where TNA is gonna hold their show...regardless I think i'll break my dry spell of shows with at least 1 of these. Only because i've never been to a PPV. No Mercy is a week before Bound for Glory? That ain't good for TNA folks. But currently, I am planning on flying back for BFG - maybe No Mercy too, but probably not. Summerslam is around the corner.... the stuff I've heard from PWInsider sounds like Triple H will not be wrestling Randy Orton in his return match. Looks like Orton will be taking on Cody Rhodes in his first big ppv match. Not sure who Cena will be wrestling, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the Lashley feud stretched to that ppv, with some kind of stipulation added. Umaga versus all the members of Jackass is also in the cards. Wonder what buyrate bump it will cause - I think there will be one, but I doubt it will be much. Will we see another round of Punk/Nitro or will Nitro be wrestling anyone else (don't see him losing the belt at the Bash)? Kennedy's now jobbed two weeks in a row. That sucks. WWE has signed Teddy Hart again to a developmental deal and will be sent to Florida. Will he behave himself if a push of The New New Hart Foundation is forthcoming? We'll see......

went to the one in Burbank - Buzz cola is just horrible.

I have a screenplay that I wrote based on a book (which I won't name as I don't own the rights to it yet) - but I would wager that my script is better than the book. Sweet Hereafter is a good example of another. The book isnt even close to how good the movie is. QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 11:57 AM) I think its a complete joke that anyone can say books are better than movies, and no you super nerds the book is never scarier than the movie.. Read the book "Ghost Story" by Peter Straub and then watch the movie. The book is 100 times more scary.

Cena, Jericho, and Bret Hart on Larry King tonight.

I like his show in small doses, but it will be missed. The heyday of it was the interplay between him and Dibble. -
QUOTE(The Critic @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 12:58 AM) It was a decent match, no better than most others, and had WAY too much interference and a clustered ending. I wouldn't consider it a classic or MOTY candidate by any stretch. I agree. I bought into the hype and was disappointed. Don't get me wrong - it was good, just not great. and the run-ins, while being expected, were kinda bogus - esp the Storm one at the end. Angle is the champ - he doesn't need help to pin Rhino.
-
On the whole, I liked Vengeance, but they totally had the TNA Syndrome goin on tonight, with too many matches on the card and none of them getting the time they deserved. Punk/Nitro, MVP/Flair, Edge/Batista were all good - the WHC match the best of the three. And the presentation was terrific - all those old wrestlers. Rick Martel looks OLD. I'm dreading the three-hour RAW tonight.
-
thanks for the ROH report - maybe I'll make it out for the Sept 15th show. But is that right - two PPV tapings in a row there? As for Vengeance, Mike Johnson at PWInsider reported the plan yesterday was for Sgt. Slaughter & Jimmy Snuka to wrestle Deuce & Domino - so we'll see.

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jun 21, 2007 -> 04:56 PM) News has come out as why to who was drafted where for what reason. Boogeyman:His character was dead and they hoped moving him to ECW would give him some new life. Nitro:They want to see how he'll do as a main-eventer, they feel he's an "orton-type" star Miz:Needs more work Snitsky:They see him as Umaga 2.0, so expect the same type of push. Torrie:Since Ashley's doing Survior, they decided to bring her over. Kennedy:Triple H's move, he felt RAW needed more heels. So I smell a HHH/Kennedy feud once one of them wins the belt. Benoit:no one knows, but it's expected he'll be on RAW in the fall. your sources? some of this seems dubious anyway. No one knows why Benoit was moved???? Could it be that they wanted him to work with the young talents on ECW, esp since they have such young heels? Kennedy and Lashley were moved because Raw is the A show, and it gets the top talent. No other conspiracy theory needed. And I've heard at pwinsider that Nitro may have been moved to get him away from Melina, as she rubs a lot of people the wrong way. That's just what I've heard - not necessarily true. It seems a lot of people like myself on here have memberships or read wrestling websites regularly but when news is reported, I think we should mention where we've heard it from as a way to differentiate reputable sites like the Observer & PWInsider from all the bad ones out there. On another note, I really liked Impact last night - it's starting to get good again I think, esp after the strong PPV. Supposedly next week's Angle/Christian/Rhino three-way is off-the-charts good. We'll see.
