lyrics are s***. that's what I always tell my drummer anyway. I love bands where it's all about the music and the melody and if the lyrics are interesting, then bonus, but if not then who cares? The Beach Boys are probably my model - and what are those songs about, freakin surfing and girls. Early Beatles too - all songs about girls. Fine by me. I write a bunch of songs about sex because that's what's on my mind - but really it could be about taco bell for all I care - I like fun lyrics as long as they don't take themslves too seriously (Van Halen, Fountains of Wayne). Emo crap makes me sick - I don't care if your girlfriend left you.

QUOTE(juddling @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:45 AM) ...and for those here who care about such things...the next WWE movie production has been announced.... "The next major WWE film to be released is titled, Journey of Death. Paul Levesque (Triple H) will be portraying Jonah Hawk. The basic plot of this movie is a modern-day Western where gangs, drug trafficking and broken codes of honor rule. This action movie is scheduled for a 2009 release in the United States. The movie is written by Alan B. McElroy, and directed by John Milius. At this time there are no other cast members released." John Milius huh? Interesting.... there was talk for a long time that he wanted Triple H to be in his new version of Conan. Maybe this a new version of that. Also, Buehrle, I totally agree about Cena. Who'dve thought he'd have not one, but TWO early MOTY candidates? If people put aside their dislike of the guy and look at the matches (RAW, Mania, and that awesome Royal Rumble match w/ Umaga) he's delivering, apart from his promos, what is not to like?

QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 04:34 PM) Olsen and Poz are overrated IMO. Anyone else look at Dwayne Jarrett and see Mike Williams II? No freakin way. I think Jarrett is the real deal and I'm hoping he falls to the Bears. Williams' year off really hurt him - but Jarrett didn't make that mistake. And after watching every SC game in the last five years, I love his routes. He's going to be good. Hopefully it's for us.

I totally disagree - that match was TERRIFIC!! Arguably better than the Mania match. I guess you just can't please some people. I thought Cena (and I am not a Cena mark by any stretch) worked his ass off - as did HBK. And a clean finish! I thought it would last 5 minutes and end in a run-in. I loved it. I'm going to rewatch it, and I never do that with TV main events. Y'all are crazy if you didnt like that. The Edge/Orton match was a joke on us internet people. They never intended to give us the match - just screwing with people who read the Orton reports over the weekend. Edge is still hurt - which is why he hasn't wrestled on tv in over two months. As for Backlash - after yesterday, why order it? I saw a better match than I'll see on Sunday. the rest of the card - ehh.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 04:04 PM) I hope so. Orton is a whiney vagina. That's an insult to vaginas everywhere. I don't know about the hotel room, but a very reputable source told me that Orton was at a group dinner, acting completely incoherent & f***ed-up. As he's been disciplined for substance issues before, it would seem that with the wellness policy, he should be released - but what complicates that is the real possibility that he might go to to TNA without getting the treatment he needs. Another 90-day suspension is what seems likely - but nothing will happen until the E returns from Europe (they're in the UK tonight.) In other things - Smackdown killed the only think that kept me watching week-after-week - London & Kendrick matches. Unless they're chasing now, this sucks. Usually I'll Tivo it and watch it on Saturdays, but it's been so boring and repetitive lately that I don't mind if I forget to watch it. Weird to say considering how bad it was two months ago, but ECW is the best WWE show on right now. The Punk/New Breed stuff has been really compelling and I can't wait to see where it goes from here. Raw has just been average - I'm so over the McMahon/Lashley feud. I just wish Edge wasn't injured so he could steal the belt at Backlash and have Cena chase him through the year, having a string of hardcore matches similar to the Umaga RR match. Will we get a HBK/Triple H feud when H returns or will they keep DX together? Also, it really hurts me, because I want it to succeed so badly, but Impact has been unwatchable lately. Jeff Jarrett as savior? Not a way to make money people! The St. Louis crowd was great, crapping on all the stupid gimmicks - now we'll see if the people backstage will listen. Haven't seen any of it, but from what I can tell, the new ROH storylines are gold. Can't wait to catch up dvd-wise.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 06:39 AM) FWIW, Arquette was reluctant to take the belt, always wanted to make sure he never in any way looked "better" than any actual professional wrestler, and donated his wCw earnings to charities. I don't blame Arquette for his "reign", I blame Russo, the Master Of Ridiculous Booking. and what a great movie that Ready to Rumble was. mmmm....Oliver Platt as a wrestler. btw - watched TNA Lockdown on Sunday. Average all around. Some REALLY stupid gimmicks (blindfold match, electrified (NOT) steel cage, etc) but the main event was good as was the wrestling in the tag match. Also, I liked the X Division match - Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley make an AWESOME tag team, and the Senshi/Starr match delivered again. Actually watched AAA on Galavision this weekend. Man, that's some weird wrestling.

Cowherd shows how much of a douchebag he is

hate him, and he hates baseball. Why is he on espn radio if he hates the nation's pastime? -
QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 01:28 PM) That ECW Originals vs New Breed main event was good...not great but good. You are crazy. It was terrific AND great. Almost like the old compnay was back for 15 minutes. Burke hit the Elijah Experience on Sabu THROUGH a table. Crazy hardcore spots galore. Supposedly its on ecw.com for those who didn't see it. Also, I saw Low Ki vs Samoa Joe yesterday at a PWG show here in LA. It lived up to expectations. Great stuff.

left out the most important detail - he was killed by a UNLICENSED, possibly illegal alien drunk driver. And people think they should be allowed to have driver's licenses and to stay in the country.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 05:17 AM) http://rajah.com/base/node/7655 People didnt leave because of the wrestling in the main event. They left because Ohio State was in the National Championship game and Raw was in Ohio. I'm surprised no one's mentioned it yet. How about that awesome ECW main event?

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 10:47 AM) My prediction: Ozzie will cost us the World Series with his crapping in game managing. If Ozzie craps in game, I will stop watching. Can't he hold it? -
Okay so I got Jenks, McDougal, Thornton, Sisco, and Aardsma. Who am I missing? There's 6, right?
-
how could I rank them? Flair, Austin, Hogan, Benoit, B. Hart, Angle, HBK, Savage, Dibiase, Rock, Undertaker, Piper, Danielson, Styles, Joe.

QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 05:54 PM) They split MNM back in the day because Mercury was having wellness issue problems. He was in rehab for a long time before coming back. I think that got him in the doghouse. I don't think pushing Mercury as a singles was ever in the plans. The guy has definitely had some bad luck in the E though. I believe he had family issues, not wellness issues. They were also split because Melina had a thing going with Batista backstage and as Big Dave is married, they wanted to nip that in the bud. The move to RAW was for disciplinary reasons. Supposedly Mercury came to the show last night loaded and stumbling all around. I's too bad - they're definitely my fav tag team right now - Joey needs to get his act together. Poor Nitro now is screwed out of Mania and he deserves to be there.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 05:00 PM) On the first episode of the WSX marathon last night, there was a fan in the front row wearing a black AJ Pierzynski jersey or shirt. Was that you? YES!! I forgot I wore that shirt that day. funny thing is, my tivo missed the first episode of the marathon - so I didnt see it. Oh well. To the Orton thing - his problem is that he can't talk. What made him in that Foley feud (which was awesome by the way), were the Orton commercials and most of Foley's reactions, not to mention all the crazy bumps both took in their Backlash match. But they have money invested in him, so he's not going anywhere. Why not give him the MITB and really build him up this year so when he challenges for the belt, he's a legitimate main eventer? HHH did him no favors in making him job clean during their feud. That destroyed him.

Who cares about the cubans? What I think is funny is that crazy Christians are going to have to vote for Romney because there's no one else who's religious in the race. C'mon Pat Robertson - let's hear that "Mormons aren't Christians" claptrap now.

I think the whole carbon offsetting thing is rather ridiculous. Schwarzenegger does that out here. What guarantees that the carbon you emit will find the trees you've purchased for that purpose?

Heard good things about The Host too..... but Reign over Me looks horrible - nothing is worse than comedic actors trying to be serious. See Carrey, Jim and Williams, Robin.
