What's the deal with Cub/Sox Single Game Tickets?
YASNY replied to Pasqua's Mailman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Pasqua's Mailman @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) Trying to order online but its not letting me... the phone number is jammed. Are they holding back these tickets? Yes -
QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 10:06 AM) But then they turn around and do this: Judge rules Islamic education OK in California classrooms That's so typical of California. :headshake

QUOTE(shakes @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 10:07 AM) I think your right. With a knee injury of that magnitude, he may need nights off in the field. I just hope he doesn't end up in the Central. My guess is this year, he ends up in Detroit.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) Why is it that when the bakery split English muffins (and what makes them English?) that one side is cut so thin it automatically burns in the toaster and the other side is too thick to fit in the toaster? That's one of life's great mysteries.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) Maybe not, but this is still f***ed up. I can't argue that point.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 09:28 AM) YAS, you are in Kentucky, it takes 3 or 4 years for the signal to reach back that far I'm so far back in the sticks that we pipe in sunlight. That signal would fit quite well in that pipe.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) Great writer. I love his work. Whether via the written or spoken word, he's quite eloquent.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) Ditto this. Every interaction I have had with the guy has been Grade A. And he has a passion unseen in his department for a long time. They convinced me they were on the right track with the fans looking for a team a couple of months ago, and the way that the White Sox responded. Exactly. That spoke volumes to me. I think the marketing aspects of the Sox are on a drastic upswing.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 08:59 AM) I heard a report last night that mentioned that most players, including entire teams, were pushing for full testing. I got to thinking about the White Sox, that no Sox players were suspected (Frank ) and that they may have acted with the support of the White Sox ownership who wanted to bust the guy across the city. :sosasucks Lupica has a way of looking at things and getting right to crux of the matter. I've always respected that guy, even if I didn't always agree with him.

The fences were moved in at some point, but I think it would cut into capacity and necessitate moving the bullpens to move them back. Moving the plate back would eliminate most, if not all, foul territory at the fences. That is too similar to the urinal at Clark and Addison.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) I believe they said El Duque won't be at Sox Fest.... .... due to prior commitments.
-
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) For all who have left for the weekend and those who haven't, have a great time at SoxTalk. We'll want to see some pictures and hear how everything went, when you all come back! Go Sox! That's right. Pictures, stories, everything.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 08:26 AM) Maybe a team who misses out on Delgado could be interested in Sweeney, but I'd seriously doubt it. There'd be better targets to go after like Mark Teixeira. It just depends on who's available. Sweeney is a definite health risk.

Here's rotoworld's take on Mike Sweeney:

QUOTE(Confederate_48 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 06:32 AM) I have the Delphi SkyFi and the only thing I dont like about it is the antenna has to face a certain direction in the sky for it to work. With my house I can only use it in certain rooms because thats the only place i can get reception. Also I have to put the antenna out my window or else it wont pick up anything. I'd be interested in more "reception quality" type of information.

QUOTE(beck72 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 06:54 AM) I don't know if this has been mentioned but LA signed Paul Bako to a 1 yr, $650,000 contract. Davis isn't going to LA That happened before the Davis rumor was reported. It probably means it's dead, but they may not be happy with that other catcher they have. Hot Stove baseball talk from 7-10 PM on ESPN 1000
YASNY replied to santo=dorf's topic in Pale Hose Talk
After reading this thread, I'll just let this speak for itself. From rotoworld: -
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) They need to change the law and make an example out of her. Either way she is going to rot in hell. Why just her and not the other millions upon millions that have had had legal abortions? Legal does not equal morally correct.

QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) Korea was fought because of the DPRK attacking the ROK. Vietnam was fought because of North Vietnam attacking South Vietnam. Iraq 2 was fought because Iraq attacked who again? Oh yeah, that's right. Noone. I would call shooting at our jets over the no fly zone an attack. So the answer to your question would be"us".
-
QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) We also live in a country that has checks and balances. Unfortunately, this isn't a world of ham and plaques. That means that occasionally, minorities need to be protected from abuse and violations of their liberties. It's not something I expect everyone to understand. Maybe once the conservatives find themselves on the short end of their freedoms and liberties, they'll understand what progressives have been talking about all along. This statement I agree with.
