  1. Hi guys. Well, that 1st inning sure did suck. Big Frank with 2 runners in scoring position, never takes the damn bat off of his shoulder. Way to go big RBI man. And what's up with Schoney not holding runners. Alomar showed his ass up for him. Good. Maybe he'll focus and do his job.
  2. You guys are actually buying into this BS? The player's union won't let Manny do that (see ARod/BoSox fiasco) and he knows it.
  3. Steff, do you ever feel like this :banghead ?
  4. From Gary Miller at ESPN: How appropriate. Cub fans urinate on Wrigleyville lawns. Keery Wood has been ticketed for public urination. Wrigley Field is the world's largest urinal ... and now this.
  5. As good as Pedro has been, he's a career ending injury waiting to happen. The BoSox have had to baby him to get him through the season. The kind of money he would command makes him way to high of a risk.
  6. Old Comiskey USCF Wrigley Busch Ballpark in Arlington Tiger Stadium I've also seen Riverfront and Turner Field while driving past them on the interstate.
  7. I saw Benoit shut out Seattle last Saturday night and now this Dickey kid today totally dominating Bahston. I thought these were the Texas No-pitching Rangers. WTF?
  8. WSC is great site. It's becoming habit for me to check it out daily. I like the series previews very much. Those of you that don't check it out regularly are missing some good Sox coverage.
  9. We're still around.
  10. Read the thread title. We were talking about this home stand. Hey guys, I'm very happy that the Sox are sitting atop the standings. But, I don't see it as all peaches and cream right now. Before the homestand I would labeled anything less that 8-4 a dissapointment. Hell, we were one swing away from being 6-6 if Koch had given up a long one in the 9th. I feel like we are not playing up to our potential, or even close, yet. Because of Ozzie and his aggresiveness, we aren't in corpseball mode. Getting these wins while we aren't playing all that great is huge, but I don't want the team to be happy with this scuffling way of winning games.
  11. John Kruk had some inut on the subject as well. He said that when he played with Frank, he would take a couple of pitches right down the middle with runners in scoring position. He'd get his walk, but not get the runners home. I have to agree with Kruk on that. Frank used to do that all the time and would totally piss me off. In more recent years, Frank has become a somewhat more aggresive hitter.
  12. 7-5 at home is not going to win us anything.
  13. I don't think there is ever anything wrong with a sacrifice fly that drives in a run. That's good baseball. But at times, I hate to see a sac bunt just to move a runner a base. Trading an out for a run is one thing, an out for a base is another.
  14. It is a pretty ballpark, but so is the Cell. In fact, I was surprised that the Ballpark in Arlington is almost completely enclosed. In the heat of the Texas summer, you'd think they'd allow an occasional breeze to come in there. What were they thinking?
  15. All I know is that there is ONE team that has "SOX" on the front of their uniform. There is ONE team that has "SOX" on their cap. No other team has ever had just "SOX" on their uniform. The first and only team to go by the name "SOX" happens to play in Chicago.
  16. You can definitely have too many sacrifice bunts. You only get 27 outs a game and you don't want to give too many of them away.
  17. TRUTH? You can't handle the truth!
  18. Rusty Greer used to totally kick our asses. But, I loved the guy as a ballplayer. I wish we would have had him in his prime.

I was going with the Russian connection.
  20. Fotop. I see, and somewhat agree with, your point. However, we played for too many years waiting for the big inning and have not been successful. I think Ozzie is trying to instill a brand of baseball that has been missing from the south side for a long time. I really think he'll achieve a happy medium in this area. So that's it's enough to keep the opposition off balance. As he goes through the AL this year, I really believe he'll make adjustments in his game.
  21. I was there last Saturday night. Nice ballpark. By the way, I'll be there for both Sox games in July.
