Sox lose opening game!
Nothing personal, man. It's just that I'd personally like to forget about the corpseball era and look ahead to some exciting White Sox baseball.

The OFFICIAL "Think positive in 2004" Thread
Did you happen to those guys in the Sox uniforms that came in from the bullpen? Joking. I hope you're right.
-
Look on the bright side
He better. We don't need to go into New York down 0-2. Especially with Tampa Bay pissing off the Yankees so far.

For All Us Would-Be Managers
Ummmm. Who, exactly, did Politte face twice?
-
Good article by Barry Rozner
To be Honest, I wasn't aware the Politte was a one inning pitcher. Is this based on the two walks after an inning and a third pitched, or is there some history behind this?

Bonds hits 659
Barry faces the Rocket tonight. Does Barry tie the Say-Hey Kid off of his fellow future HOF'er? Does Barry crowd the plate as always against Clemens? Will Roger dust his ass if he does? Should be an interesting matchup. Ya gotta love baseball!!!!

For all of you Ozzie Haters
I think Ozzie's only mistake, and it's only my opinion, was he pulled Buehrle to soon.

Twins Joe Mauer leaves game with sprained knee:
Mauer and Santana. Wow. Potentially disasterous for the Twins.

For those going to opening day at Comiskey...
Ah, I wish I could join you wonderful folks on opening day. I am going to see the Sox vs. Rangers at the Ballpark in Arlington in *GASP* July! Shouldn't have to worry about getting chilled then. I'm still also hoping to score a couple of tickets to the Cub series .... and any help will be greatly appreciated.

QUESTION:Did Ozzie Panic?
No, Ozzie didn't panic. He had a choice, Koch vs. Stairs or Marte vs. Stairs or any other matchup the Pena wanted. It makes sense to me.
-
guess who pitched 6 scoreless innings
Ladies and Gentleman, you have just seen a masterful performance. Our man Rex so eloquently and smoothly deflected several verbal jousts and did so with dignity, style and grace. Rex .... YOU DA MAN!!!!!!

White Sox Owners
I'll tell you what, that is a sorry looking selection. Can I vote for our next owner?
-
Day two panic
I voted other. The only problem is that Eck, Gossage, Fingers, Wilhelm, Sutter are all retired and Billy Wagner's in Philly.
- Its Capn 12 time!

White Sox Managers
I had to go with El Senor'. Lopez consistently did more with less. I can't judge a manager that was around before my time.

defeat
After a defeat, drink to drown your sorrows. After a win, drink to celebrate your victory!

Koch Concern
By the end of the month, we'll know which Billy Koch we have. Until then, it's all speculation and guess work on everybody's part.

So what was the real reason
More Corpseball. Gaston has proven he can manage a WS Champ, but his demeanor was too similar to JM for this team. IMHO
-
So what was the real reason
I'm going to break this down and address each point. 1. Not firing JM. Agreed. JM should have been canned in late May or about the time the Sox promoted Walker. However, the club did turn around and temporarily saved his job. That was a lucky break for JM. 2. Koch. How could Kenny foresee Koch would lose his heater? He had it in Arizona in 2003. On the surface, the Koch/Foulke trade looked like a prudent move at the time, considering Foulke was on the free agent exit ramp. 3. Which Berry/Barry is which and what was the other one done? This is a non-issue in my book. Rookie mistake that had no negative consequences. 4. Konerko. Overpaid, yes. But if he hits like we all know he can, not by much. 5. Clayton. A huge mistake any way you look at it. 6. Mid-season trades. If KW did nothing and we lost by 4 games, it would be because he didn't do anything. He tried. It didn't work. I give him credit for going for it and don't begrudge those trades one iota.

A Lil' Bit-O-Fun Before Sox's Season Starts
Chief Wahoo is demeaning to American Indians and therefore racist, as opposed to the Blackhawks which symbolizes dignity and respect. The old English "D" on the Tiger's uniform is classic, as are the SOX and the Yanks "NY". I hope they never change. I still like the redbirds sitting on the bat in St. Louis, and that old Colt 45's logo is great. I also like San Diego's new logo and color scheme. It represents the city very well. Cubs logo is not worth discussing. It just sucks.

Sox lose opening game!
I can't believe someone recycled the term Corpse ball after this game. We had a successful hit and run, a *cough* stolen base and a successful sacrifice bunt. Corpse ball is definitely out of place.

Worst thing about today's loss....
The worse thing about today's loss is that we a "1" in the loss column.
-
They put the Bull Sh*t in Bull Pen
In fact, Politte looked damn good. Wicked even.

opening day fire Ozzie .com site
Two words: No Class
-
The light at the end of the tunnel
You can say what you want to, failed hit and run or whatever, but Paulie got a good jump and stole that base.
