  1. Brando. Chill out. All I'm trying to say is that we did not see a 1005 healthy Danny Wright in 2003. We may, or may not, in 2004. But until we see what he can do, there is no reason to believe he can't be a decent 5th starter. I'm not trying to pick a fight here.
  2. Ok ... you guys wallow in you negative self pity all winter. We don't know if Wright will be back to where he was, but he damn sure wasn't in 2003. You guys just want to write him off without giving the guy a look after having an off season to heal. You're so closed minded it's rediculous.
  3. Yes. We will get a "sandwich" pick between the first two rounds and the Angels 2nd round pick.
  4. "Magically" recover? ... I always thought that was called healing. Which he has had time to do now and he didn't in 2003. A healthy arm and he can regain his fastball. Everyone seems to forget that Danny Wright was not a healthy pitcher in 2003. Yes, he lost something off his heater last year .... but he was not healthy.
  5. Now that we know who is gone, KW will start putting a team together.
  6. As things stand right now, there will certainly be more pressure on Buehrle and Loaiza to lead the rotation and for Garland to settle in and become an effective #3. Hopefully, we can start adding some pitchers for a change.
  7. It's definitely a balancing act. You're right, you have to have some decent veteran ballplayers. Otherwise, you end up like Detroit.
  8. Why can't a healthy Danny Wright be a good starter? I see no reason why he has to be relegated to the bullpen. He should get a shot at that fifth spot in the rotation along with the rest of the potential candidates.
  9. Bingo. You have to get the most "bang for your buck".
  10. I think this thread was started simply because Colon is gone. Sometimes people try to paint a masterpiece, but use watercolors. Bartolo Colon is and has been the better pitcher of the three. Hands down.
  11. Yes, if I was needing a pitcher for one game I would choose Colon. However, I feel Millwood or Ponson would be better long term options.
  12. I still believe a healthy Danny wright can be an effective starter. The key word in that statement being "healthy". I'm not so quick to give up on these young guys as some people around here are.
  13. That will only work for New York if the Sox fail to offer Gordon arbitration. If they offer, and the Yanks sign him, we get the picks regardless of when they "officially" sign him.
  14. Another pathetic performance by the Bears. But, ok, they are for all intents and purposes out of the playoff picture. I'd say it's time to start playing Grossman.
  15. I've been on Oklahoma's bandwagon all year, but after laying an egg like that in the Big 12 Champ game, they shouldn't go. USC vs. LSU
  16. Whether you buy it or not, Osuna was used as a righ handed set up man in 2002 and Gordon was signed as the right handed set up man for 2003. No distortions there.
  17. Ya, I always refer to fictional characters for words of wisdom.
  18. I would imagine that Jose Valentin is our backup at 3B, with Uribe put in his place at shortstop. As for Harris & Rowand being just AAAA players. We don't know yet what they can do on a regular basis. They may or mey not be, but it is unfair to label them so. Now Gload very well may be, since he's had a couple of shots in the past. Whether they were legitimate shots or not, I don't know. But, hey, he might just be a late bloomer and could possibly give us a solid year at 1B.
  19. Look at his numbers from 99-02. That's above mediocre. PK's 2003 was subpar, for sure. But I think that will prove to be the exception, rather than the rule.
  20. It's all semantics. But it could be misleading to the uninformed.
  21. Actually, I believe Osuna's replacement was Flash Gordon. He was somewhat more effective than White.
  22. From the article: Jose Valentin maybe?

    Uribe

Clayton was messing with Frank's ex while he was with the Sox.
