  1. Let's just hope this turns into a step forward and not a step back. Picling the wrong man could be disasterous.
  2. Damn. I just realized I forgot to even mention Aaron.

  4. I shouldn't have expected any kind of answer from you... Everytime you get challenged on anything you either run and hide or result to insults. Actually, what Corg said here is a very accurate statement about how things are done in the corporate world.
  5. "What could have been" about sums it up.
  6. We can do worse than Valentin at short. *cough* Clayton *cough*
  7. I hate to dis Thomas, but he hasn't exactly been "Mr. Clutch" when the games were huge. You can't refer to '94 because it never happened. However, you can look at what he has done in the playoffs in those other years, and it's not pretty. Then you look at how he "performed" against the Twins down the stretch and ... well .... 'nuff said. Roman, picking on someone's spelling in what should have been a discussion of two different points of view ... that's lame, dude.
  8. If Pedro was DURABLE enough to pitch those extra 40 innings, the Red sox might have finished first. The Red Sox had to baby Pedro all year. Loaiza just took the damn ball and pitched. Don't even try and tell me that Perdo was more valuable to Boston than Loaiza was to the White Sox.
  9. They always announce the award winners in November. Usually at the rate of one award for each league per week. The first week of November they'll announce the AL and NL Rookie of the Year awards. The next week my be the Cy Young awards. Something along those lines. It keeps baseball in the news between the Series and the winter meetings.
  10. Look at the title of this thread! .... Should be Sox-Cub note. How dare you?!?!?!
  11. Alomar + Everett + Valentin = about $17 million. Matsui + Rowand + Harris/Miles = about $10 million. I'll take the Matsui group and use that 7 million to sign Colon.
  12. We lost our last 5 games to the Twins. We choked. Big time.
  13. Heather endorsing Carlos Lee.... Now that's a shock!
  14. If they make this deal, I'm switching to tequila.
  15. I'm sold on him. I think he's going to be very solid next year. He's just about ready, imho.
  16. I just had a disturbing thought. If they are afraid of what Buehrle will get out of arbitration, they just might do something stupid like this. Damn!
  17. Unless JR sells the team, I can't possibly imagine it being Fisk ..... ever. Oh YAS, have a beer and settle down. lol just the .........ever thing made it seem like you were all wound up lol. Nah ... I never get wound up. Now.... it's beer time.
  18. There was also Manny Sanguillen for Chuck Tanner .... But, Buehrle? ... no way in hell.
  19. Unless JR sells the team, I can't possibly imagine it being Fisk ..... ever. Oh YAS, have a beer and settle down.
  20. Did you see the post where the one joker thought we should have to package Carlos Lee with Buehrle to get LaRussa? The dude needs to put the crack pipe down.
  21. Unless JR sells the team, I can't possibly imagine it being Fisk ..... ever.
  22. Exactly. Hey, the Cubbies went 19-7 in September. They earned it.
  23. I've also heard Buddy Bell's mentioned as a possibility.
