no i think you missed the point....yes jm had his moments but in the end he did bring us at least 1 division championship team........and quite a few good seasons finishing nothing below 3rd with what he had to work with..... im just sayin that the next guy may not be as good......and if history repeats itself like it always does with this team.. we could be in for a long stretch under new management.....just tryin to shed a bit of light on the opposite side of the fence for all the jm bashers....granted i think he should move on but he wasnt all that bad when he was here..... I agree. Manuel was not a bad manager. But, his time here has run it's course.

Ok, I'm the first to admit when I may be wrong about something and after reading Corg's posts about Frank, perhaps this is one of those times. I'll withdraw all my criticism of Thomas based on the fact that Corg is a helluva lot closer to the situation than I am.

The reason I want Thomas gone is that I think his attitude is a detriment to the team. I don't think the Sox will ever win with Frank Thomas.

I really don't know how to go about proving it, but I'd be surprised if the Mick were the only one. I'm thinking Billy Martin, Whitey Ford .... and, of course, the man that misquoted himself in his own autobiography, David Wells.

There have been a lot of lushes throughout major league history. Mantle is not alone in that regard. I'm not justifying it. Just saying that it had been a part of the lifestyle of several players over the years.

A few hours after making the above post, I ran across this in Barry Rozner's column today.

I'm not a huge Beatles fan, but there are multiple songs that I think are great. But, I can't hang with you guys on the Beatles trivia. However, I would like to ask a question. This is not a trivia question. I'm asking for my own knowledge. In one song (title please) part of the lyrics are: "One Two Three Four Five Six Seven. All good children go to heaven." I was told that this refrain was actually the first time any music written in 4/7 time was ever written, recorded, produced, whatever. Is this true and is that, in fact, actually 4/7 time? Also, have you heard there is going to be a new Beatles album released called "Let It Be Naked"? This is no joke. Supposedly, Let It Be was so dubbed and overdubbed that the band members were not very happy with it. This is supposed to have "Let It Be" as it was originally recorded in the studio, without the overdubbing. Hence, the added term "Naked".

Amen to that.
