  2. hasselbeck cant throw or run and I dont think he's worth a back up role. One way to go... DANNY WUERFFEL
  3. How many games did they predict Jamie Navarro to win this year???
  4. QUOTE(orangekrush88 @ Mar 19, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) Awesome WHAT game! I have Vermont going tot the Sweet Sixteen, the three by TJ will NEVER get old! That bomb capped off my Final Four run for Syracuse... or Final Four limp Whichever, im still screwed
  5. The guy in the McRib commercial doesnt even know that family in the window...
  6. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 19, 2005 -> 07:49 AM) Fwiw, the Bears are saying that Metcalf is the starter going into camp, w/ Garza backing up both guard spots. There's no way that lasts, Metcalf was like a turnstyle last year...
  7. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) Cuse lost I had them Final Four worthy in one of my brackets and elite 8 in the other. Jim Boeheim what the hell happened??
  8. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 19, 2005 -> 04:09 AM) Just because Piazza sits behind the plate for 100 to 120 games doesn't mean that he even belongs there or that he's catching a good game. Piazza is a glorified DH sitting behind the plate -- no arm, no speed, no defense. He's only behind the dish because he can't even play 1B and he's in the N.L. If Piazza was playing in the A.L. he would be a DH. Very VERY TRUE. Piazza poor defensively, poor speed, and has an awful arm he is no doubt a DH...
  9. Almost forgot about this one, but before our championship hockey game tonite my team watched the scene from Any Given Sunday You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the f***ing difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! I'll tell you this, in any fight it's the guy whose willing to die whose gonna win that inch. And I know, if I'm gonna have any life any more it's because I'm still willing to fight and die for that inch, because that's what living is, the six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That's a team gentlemen, and either, we heal as a team, or we will die as individuals. That's football guys, that's all it is. Now what are you gonna do? I know its long but it is one of my favorite inspirational movie speeches ever...
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) Catcher is definitely not high on the pirates list in my opinion. I thought Cota was supposed to be a good one so I didnt expect them to have a wish list for Ben Davis-like catchers.
  11. As much as I dislike the Cubbies, I feel terribly for these pitchers. They were run into the ground the past year or two by a manager who hasnt a clue on how to manage his pen. Two joys to watch pitch are now spending their prime seasons on the DL because of it.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) Why, then, would we want him? I think his value is right around what he's making right now -- and next year, he's going to get more money, a lot more money than he's worth. For this year, yes -- it'd be nice, if we can get him for a bag of balls. But not for Harris + Adkins/Diaz... Hopefully we'd be able to package two of those guys with someone else for a deadline deal and not a backup 3B. I'd rather we held out and hoped these guys have solid seasons and would service us better by using them in a deadline deal.
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 10:02 PM) Well, I'd hope that what Kenny said about Harris/Iguchi as far as playing time and not worrying about which one makes more money applies to the catching situation as well... I'm gonna agree with Keith, if I am getting this correctly, that whoever does the better job is gonna get the PT no matter what the paycheck situation is.
  14. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) Reputations develop very fast around SoxTalk don't they. I'm sorry, Im new here so I should just not say those things...
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) Not on a Paul DePodesta team, I doubt it. I think he'd go with Ross before Davis. But a Pirates team, for Rob Mackowiak, now we're talkin....

  20. Pleading the fifth implecates them, even if theyre not technically guilty, the public will see pleading the fifth as guilty... So Sammy, Mark, and Jason... this one's for you :finger

  22. "There was a FIREFIGHT!!!" Sgt. Major Dickerson: [Pointing to his rank insignia] What does three up and three down mean to you, airman? Adrian Cronauer: End of an inning? No, I'm not okay! Do I look okay? The f***er shot me! What the f***-ass f*** of a bum-f*** s***hole town is this? I make a business call. I give him my card. And the hick-ass f***er shoots my foot off! Cock-f***ing s***! I play hockey and I fornicate, 'cause those are the two most fun things to do in cold weather. C'mon, it's Czechoslovakia. We zip in, we pick 'em up, we zip right out again. We're not going to Moscow. It's Czechoslovakia. It's like we're going into Wisconsin.
  23. QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) "They brought their f***in' TOYS with 'em!!!!!" "Better they play with toys than with themselves..." "They're too STUPID to play with themselves!!!" 25. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) Pretty shocking actually. It's not like he overuses all of his young pitchers or anything. Hopefully he'll still be around when they play Pittsburgh, Mackowiak is gonna tear it up against them, I wish KW would trade for him
