  1. 1:30 update time. Is The Score sticking to their guns?
  2. I can't wait to see the interview Heads did or is going to do with him.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 01:23 PM) Except 1000 is getting their report directly from Buehrle's agent. And 1000 is going against The Score, best known for their "April Fools Jokes". I'm taking the word of 1000 over 670 everytime.
  4. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 01:19 PM) Who the f*** is using it as an excuse? You keep saying it as if it played a factor. Excuse was a bad word to use, but if the drugs played a factor in this, why hasn't any other wrestler sunk to this level. With the number of mentally ill people in this country, odds are at least a few other wrestlers doped up on god knows what have had mental problems.
  5. I still question if this was leaked on purpose to try and get people asking about Mark to up their offers thinking it's the last second they will have a chance.
  6. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 12:15 PM) Benoit sounds really f***ed up. Seems like it might have a lot to do with drugs. It doesn't absolve him but it definitely adds a layer of depth. There have been dozens upon dozens of other wrestlers on just as much if not more stuff than Benoit who never did anything remotely close to this, so using the drugs as an excuse is simply not accurate.
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 12:05 PM) And Offman continues to report this as fact. "remember Buehrle said he'd like to spend the rest of his career with the White Sox . . . well he'll be spending at least the next 4 and a half years on the South Side." I'm amazed they are sticking with this. Somebody is going to end up looking REALLY bad.
  8. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 11:55 AM) I don't know how to take that exactly, but I believe you're a little misunderstanding. Authorities yesterday said they found needle marks on Daniel's arms, and they assumed Chris had been giving him steroids "for quite some time". Disturbing. What Pratt meant was that it was maybe not so disturbing after all, as the needle marks could have been from medicine for Daniel's mental disorder. Well of course. I'm not sure who was assuming he was giving his kid steroids, I wasn't (although I did say if he was I wouldn't be surprised). Doesn't make him any less sick if he wasn't giving his kid steroids though.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 11:54 AM) I believe Ken Rosenthal a hell of a lot more than Bruce Levine. If you believe Ken Rosenthal on White Sox related things, you have a very short memory.
  10. QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 11:52 AM) So, where it stands now is no one believes 670 but people are believing the AM 1000 report? The Score has gotten dozens of things wrong over the years, while 1000 is almost always accurate on these sort of things. So yes.
  11. LOL will George Offman come on and apologize for this like he did last year when he goofed about something Cubs related? Don't ever trust The Score, ever.
  12. QUOTE(Shadows @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 03:03 AM) Yeah thank god, since no one was defending him or anything Except Brian and MHizzle still have tribute sigs to this bastard. It was nice of you to take the "the only side effect of steroids is excellence" quote off of your sig though. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 11:14 AM) Well, the sickest thing about it all besides the murders themselves was "Benoit was giving his kid steroids, what a freak!" Now that might have changed. Nothing excuses what Benoit did but if it turns out he was warped by steroids and all his medications, things are a little different. Yeah because the steroids in Benoit's house were clearly for his kid, and doctors always let the kids dad inject him with steroids for an illness. And no, things aren't any different if Benoit was warped by the stuff he was on, he's still a double murderer.
  13. Gio pitched a really good game against Jacksonville tonight, who has won 11 out of 12, so that is also very good news.
  14. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 09:43 PM) I can blame them. I think people who like to pretend that important people existed because they did something incredibly awful are cowards. We'll see what comes of Benoit's mental state. Though we won't ever really KNOW what was on his mind. Yeah I can see both sides of it to be perfectly honest. You can't just forget all the things he did in wrestling because of this terrible crime, but it's hard to seperate his wrestling career and end of his life. Time heals all wounds though, I'd guess as time goes on they won't just eliminate his career.
  15. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 09:35 PM) I'm really not a fan of deleting Benoit forever from the WWE. I'm not a fan of kicking someone out of the HOF in any realm just because of something terrible, even something like this. It's an integral part of the company's history, and Benoit's been a very important part of wrestling history. Besides, I think he's mentally ill, and the drugs whacked him out, which I believe the toxicology report will show. It kind of annoys me to see them change Wrestlemania XX from 3ple threat to "HHH versus HBK" on their marketing page. That's just not right. I understand why they're doing it, I guess, but I hope it doesn't last FOREVER. Years, maybe, but eventually, someone has to talk about Benoit as a sick man who needed help instead of pretending that he was an Eric Kulas-type. First of all, let's wait for the facts to come out on his mental state at the time of this, and second, there have been millions of mentally ill people who didn't murder their family and kill themself out of nowhere. If WWE never acknowledges his existance again, nobody could blame them.
  16. When RAW started, every single rumor I heard was about the coughing up blood/carbon monoxide senario, so if anything it seemed like a horrid accident at the time they aired the show. Anybody who blames the WWE for their actions in regards to their treatment of the situation on their show last night or tonight is simply being dumb.
  17. I have to give McMahon credit, he's handeled this about as well as you can.
  18. QUOTE(Shadows @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 05:49 PM) Thats because like I said, the danger with steroids is abusing them. Well just by the combination of the eye test and common sense, I'd say a large number of WWE performers are abusing anabolic steroids.
  19. The Brewers still ain't no joke, they do have a 7 and a half game lead and the Cubs are 3 games under. Calm down. And they win again tonight, thanks to a 9 run 6th inning. Ryan Braun is something else.
  20. It'll be for next to nothing I'd assume, based on how little they even got for Barrett. And wow, Florida with Willingham, Jones, and Hermida left to right will have the worst defensive OF in baseball playing home games at the stadium with the biggest OF in baseball. I hope their pitchers are ready to throw ground balls and strikeouts.
  21. I don't think some regular old guy could take steroids and become nuts, but they undoubetely mess with you chemically and hormonally, so I think it's fair to throw out the chance senario that a seemingly "nice guy" like Benoit could be pushed over the edge in a domestic dispute by using them, and act in a crazy way he might otherwise not. As for the steroids and deaths in wrestling, it will always be hard to prove because it seems like in all cases, due to the pressures of the schedule and making weight and physical toll, the wrestlers seem to abuse alcohol and/or drugs as well as steroids. The only real case you could take and use as an example is somebody that perhaps doesn't do drugs and only drinks modestly, but does steroids and dies, and I have not heard of a senario like that.
  22. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 02:35 PM) The steroids findings would seem to suggest the media is going to be licking its chops to beat up on professional wrestlling again. I have a feeling that what Vince McMahon and the WWE are about to endure will make the steriods trial of the 80's and the Owen Hart tragedy look small in comparison. The number of deaths among wrestlers are pretty astounding. Obviously none this crazy, but a ton have died at very young ages.
  23. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 02:34 PM) Yeah, the blood part seems weird, although this whole thing is odd/weird. The text messages, according to wwe.com, were sent to Chavo. No report on what was said. I'd guess there was a struggle to tie her up which lead to the blood. Once she was tied up, I guess he suffocated her. And of course a 7 year old wouldn't be able to fight off this guy, so there was no struggle there at all. I'm really interested as to what they those text messages said. If he sent them on Saturday, based on the timeline of what the guy said (the mom died Friday, kid on Saturday morning), that would mean he sent them after killing his family with 2 dead bodies in the house that he put bibles next to. Talk about bizarre.
  24. The only other detail I don't see in the other posts is the guy said the wife was bounded by her wrists and ankles and there was some blood that had come from her head.
  25. Apparently he suffocated his wife and kid, and left a bible by both of their bodies. WTF?? Also, they found a bunch of legal perscriptions and illegal steroids, no shocker there.
