QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 01:32 AM) Well how about that for a bet. KU loses to Texas, i will not speak a word of Kansas for a week. KU wins, heads will not discuss ISU for a week. Thanks for the compliment though. Well since God has a sense of humor, your going to beat Texas by 10 and then come here and call all of us idiots (for good reason). That's about all I have left to say to you anymore. -
hmmm...that's the last thing i'd have guessed it was, but ok.

I'm not too worried about Vasquez, he will be good IMO with Coop and A.J. helping out. I also think Garland will be fine as long as he keeps throwing strikes!! I'm a bit worried about Count with El Duque gone, but hopefully Coop and him develop a better relationship and Count trusts his stuff.

What's the point of this 1st round of games? The U.S. and Canada both have 2 losses, and might end with 3 in 5 games, and are still moving on? Lameness. -

The sad thing with Jimbo is he's a very smart fan outside of his unprecedented Kansas homerism. We should just ban him from talking about KU, and he'd be a very solid contributor. -
So i'm watching Derrick Rose and Simeon beat the hell out of Crane today....and with 3 min left and his team DOWN 25, Sherron Collins dunk it on a pass to himself off the backboard. Seeing that one play alone made me almost glad he's going to Kansas, he will fit right in with Self's group of AAU players who don't pass (besides Julian Wright and Brandon Rush).

Hahaha KU fans think Julian Wright is better than LaMarcus Aldridge? I didn't know Kansas fans were on drugs (well besides Jimbo obviously ). -
Hey I was wondering about a song. The song that is played in the background as the highlights of the Sox past and present are shown before the players run onto the field to "thunderstruck"....yeah I was wondering if anybody knew the artist who did that song and what the title of the song is. Thanks.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) All District 12 Team released as voted on by NABC (seems to include Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Colorado) District 12 First Team Taj Gray, Oklahoma Curtis Stinson, Iowa State Richard Roby, Colorado Greg Brunner, Iowa Ben Jacobson, Northern Iowa Second Team Brandon Rush, Kansas Thomas Gardner, Missouri Adam Haluska, Iowa Cartier Martin, Kansas State Caleb Green, Oral Roberts Anyone else think that first team is pretty damn good? (Save it JD) JD Rush not in the first team=bad team. /JD But for real, I like that first team except that if the game is close, Stinson will take a 3 with 26 on the shot clock and then take a hand check foul since he's from Iowa State. -
What about the staff looks good besides Wood and Prior being injury prone and Maddux is old? You have Zambrano as a stud, but then what? Wade Miller is hurt a lot, Glendon Rusch is a mediocre journeyman, and Jerome Williams is very inconsistent.

I just would hope Thome ends up 3rd. Again, I'm not a big moneyball guy, but the OBP of a healthy Thome and the fact he's a lefty makes him being the 3 hitter in front of Paulie cleaning up and Dye at 5 common sense.

QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 05:54 PM) I know i'm a little late, but it was REALLY nice to see a good game from our big men for a change. Augie, Randle, Carter all had great games. If randle can get his jump shot down, he's going to be a star. Agreed on part 2, Randle as an upperclassmen the next 2 years should be great to watch. And the only difference today with our big men was we actually passed them the ball. Packer was critical of Dee all game for not being assertive enough shooting the ball, but i'd be more than happy to see Dee taking much less shots and instead feeding it inside, that's what we SHOULD be doing on offense. -
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 05:50 PM) I don't like to say it, but the Cubs certainly can't be written off so quickly. That division is pretty much up for grabs. The Reds and Pirates will suck thoroughly. The Cardinals have gotten a bit weaker. The Astros have gotten a lot weaker. Then, the Brewers and Cubs have gotten better. The Sox were picked to finish 3rd or 4th last year, and we ended up winning a tougher division. Well the only reason they can't be written off is their division. They have a bad team, who's only hope to be more than a .500 team is their pitching staying healthy, which has about as much a chance of happening as an asteroid hitting the earth next week. I am not 100 percent writing them off since the NL Central is the 2nd worst division in baseball, but the Cubs team itself sucks and will be similar to the one that won 79 games last year, if not worse, in terms of it's roster.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 05:41 PM) I hope he can't play in '06. He's a piece of s*** as far as I'm concerned. I wish I could have enough class to only say that much about him. Must suck to be a mod at times like this.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) Pretty lame. She spends the first two paragraphs pointing out all the Cubs difficiencies, then says there is plenty of hope for them. The damn article doesn't even make sense. Yep, reminds of the Kiley article about how the Cubs should sign Hendry and Baker to extensions back in January to send a message of support and trust. WTF does that even mean?
-
QUOTE(mr_genius @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) reading a carol Ssezak article is a waste of time. she doesn't know anything about baseball or sports in general. she probably lives close to wrigley so decided to write about how great the cubs are. Haha she is an idiot and does live close to Wrigley, but this is stupid, even by her high standards for that.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) If you say Bonds didn't take steroids, you're probably lying. And your definitely naive.

I hope the f***ing chemistry product gets hurt and doesn't even pass Ruth, he doesn't deserve it. I think the real reason he's doing this though is to pass the "evil white legend" Babe Ruth, and finish 2nd all time to Hank Aaron, so hey doesn't have to hear about being the chemistry product with the record, but he'll still be ahead of Ruth.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 05:12 PM) I know most of you guys on here hate Duke, but I really enjoy watching Redick play. He is much more than a jumpshooter as he was earlier in his career. The guy flat out knows how to score. He and Adam Morrison are fun to watch. Redick and Morrison are both great great players, I wish I could enjoy watching them. It's just they both SEEM like such assholes as people, and play for Duke and Duke West, 2 teams I can't stand. -

2 U.S. stories in this olympics that have been awesome so far: 1. Shani Davis basically telling the media to kiss his ass after they wanted him to be all nice to them AFTER they made him a bad guy for not being a "team player". That team player stuff was bull s***, just NBC and the guy that won the silver to Davis' gold in the 1000 wanting 5 golds for himself, well done Shani. 2. Bodie Miller pissing all over himself, good stuff. -

Weber said on the postgame show Jamar "didn't take care of business" which he said after Warren Carter missed a game earlier this year, only to play the next game. I'm going to assume Jamar will be back against Michigan. -

Rumor has it Jamar did a little bit of underage drinking, which is why he didn't play today. -

Illini win 70-58. At 13-10 and 5-7, Indiana still has work to do to make the dance IMO, although their schedule isn't too difficult considering how bad it could be.
