  1. Question for the draft buffs: Mardy Collins of Temple looks DAMN good today. Now he's listed at 6'6, 210 and that seems legit. Looking at a lot of mock drafts, he seems like a guy that will be drafted right around where the Bulls would pick if they finish 8th or 9th in the east. So would the Bulls be interested, and do you think he will be a good NBA player? Thanks.
  2. It's official.....no medals for Bode Miller, who responded with the comment that he thinks he had an "awesome olympics". Congrats Bodie!!
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) I will get over that deal when Tyson Chandler puts a ring on his finger during the introductions of the first Bulls game of a season. Before our friend Hammer gets here...it's still worth noting that Tyson has like 5-6 years before he gets to the age Brand currently is, so there's still tiem for him to mature, adapt, and improve. With some luck...he'll make us proud of that deal before the end. Even if we had Brand right now, we wouldn't be able to challenge the Heat or Pistons. 2-3 years down the road though...if everything goes right with every player, that could be our conference to lose. All good points. It's just Tyson will never be a fifth of the offensive player Brand is, while Brand rebounds just as well. Obviously Tyson is a better defender, but the trade is just indefensible, was then and is now. And I don't see how this will be our conference to lose anytime soon, we are 2 studs away from having a chance, and finding a stud big man scorer and 2 guard isn't easy, and with Brand you have 1 of those on the roster already.
  4. QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) Gives Anderson some protection, and gives Crede more RBI chances. Hehe and there's my answer. Thank you sir.
  5. Oh man, it's going to be a fun year. Interested as to why Crede is 9th and B Anderson 8th, but it's not all that big a deal anyways.
  6. Other: Because just like the 1990's Knicks teams, everybody involved with this team can kiss my ass. It's more fun now though since they are so amazingly bad.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) Haha nah, I just had to say it because Tyson is playing his ass off and people still dwell on the past. It's over nothing we can do except appreciate Tyson. I like Tyson as a player when he plays like he has the last what, 6 weeks now? But I will never truly get over that Elton Brand trade, and it will only bet worse in this years playoffs. I hate you Jerry Krause.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) Tyson with his 13th straight 10+ board night. Ahh, Elton's average, just like 25 points. And we lost. Thanks for trying to help though Willie (unless your being sarcastic?), but I'm going to go hit my head against a wall.
  9. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 11:42 PM) WHY?!? I was going to say worst trade in Bulls history by a mile, but I'm not sure if we maybe did something stupid before my time in a deal.
  10. Uncapped '07=Uncapped forever=Bye bye everybody has an equal chance. I hope this happens, the obnoxious stranglehold the NFL has on the American public will lose a lot of strength if this happens.
  11. Ugh Elton Brand is a 1 man wrecking crew......what could have been. He can get 10 plus rebounds AND still score 25. He's the leading MVP candidate in this game.

  13. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 10:41 AM) i agree with this, although i am sure it is not a popular view among some illinois fans. i heard bill carmody on the pre-game show before last saturday's ohio state-northwestern game, and carmody said he thought ohio state and illinois were the two teams that overachieved the most this year in the big ten. now, i don't know if i totally agree with that, but i will say that if preseason you would have told me they'd have been 22-5 this year at this point, i think i would have been pretty happy about it. illinois is a really flawed team. they have to win with their defense, but their best defensive line-up features randle and frazier, and you can pretty much ignore those guys offensively, which compounds their problems. i give weber credit for making it work somehow. Yep, agreed with all. The only problem I have with this program right now is the Michigan and Penn State games (especially #2) were right there for the taking, and if we just come up big late and win in those 2 games, we are the one in control in the league.
  14. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 10:32 AM) And that's another thing. Tyson is all alone down there. If we had a legit post scorer who could draw multiple defenders when in the act of shooting, Tyson would be getting even more offensive rebounds and wide open dunks. As you know from the charts that I have posted, Tyson is #1 in the league over the last 5 weeks in OREB/Minute, and nobody else even comes close. He's at like .175 OREB/Minute, and the next best is like .115. Yeah. He wouldn't get as many offensive boards if we had an inside scorer since there wouldn't be as many 22 foot jumpers for him to go grab, but I think he would definitely get more points and putbacks. Same goes for a really good 2 guard, then can draw doubles and scatter the defense, which would also help Tyson. This team right now has everything a championship team needs except that really good 2 guard and interior scorer, problem is all the things we have (other than Tyson defensively and what Luol could be) aren't too hard to find (other than how young we are), but the 2 things we need are VERY hard to find. Hopefully those 2 high picks help.
  15. I think it could be argued that Weber is as good as it gets in terms of getting the most out of his players (last years team had 3 damn good guards, but Weber got EVERYTHING he could out of them, Roger Powell wasn't half as good as he played, and that bench f***ing sucked, yet everybody contributed in some big spot). This year's team, as much as it angers me, doesn't have the talent to have as good a record it does. Wheras with Izzo, his teams are ALWAYS ALWAYS loaded...... But Izzo as of now is no question a better recruiter (even though Weber is getting way better) and his coaching resume blows Weber's away.
  16. If you can look at goldmember's sig and not find Sasha at least somewhat hot, then wow. I'm not a fan of uber skinny girls to be honest, but Cohen is more petite than anything. Also, she looks about 100 times better with her hair down than the very strict style she wears it in for skating.
  17. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 09:40 AM) We'll see what you have to say when he leads the NBA in offensive rebounding one of these years. He only had 70 offensive rebounds over a 12 game stretch recently. The next best over that stretch was like 40 or something? And he is one of the absolute best in the NBA at keeping offensive rebounds alive (batting them to teammates, etc). I know you're talking strictly scoring, but basketball (on the offensive end) is a little more complicated than that. Second chance opportunities are absolutely huge, and we have a guy who may turn out to be the best in the NBA at getting them. That tends to help out on the offensive end a little bit, don't you think? Yeah you make a good point obviously, to be honest I wasn't thinking that way. Tyson is a very good defender (when in his actual natural position on the floor, ahem Skiles) and to be honest, I like the kid. He seems very nice and will lead the league in rebounds a couple times IMO. However, I just think he has to have 12 rebounds and 2 blocks EVERY GAME and play his ass off EVERY GAME to earn his money, because he isn't capable of being any good on offense. I will say this about Tyson though, he needs to be more offensive minded when he gets all the offensive rebounds he does, Tyson is too quick to dish it out on the offensive rebounds when he often times could have a layup, get a dunk, or get to the line. Another thing I will say is that if we had a legit post scorer, Tyson officially becomes much more valuable seeing as you can afford to have one great defender who doesn't score at the 4 or 5 if the other guy can score points. This Bulls team has their hard nosed, pretty good 1 in Hinrich, and it's defensive stopper and shot blocker (who could get a lot better at that) in Tyson. My issue is we still need that big 2 guard who can defend his position decent AND score (isn't on the roster), a big man who is a legit post scorer (not on the roster) and a consistently very good wing player (which IMO will eventually be Luol Deng, which is why I'm so against trading him.) I guess I just take out some anger on Tyson too much since he's paid so damn much, the guy on this team that pisses me off most is BY FAR Ben Gordon to be honest with you. But your still WAY too big a Tyson Chandler homer, and I won't ever back off that fact. He is a long way from making b****es look stupid yet, although hey I hope one day he averages 13 and 13 a game for a couple full seasons in a row and wins DPOY, then everybody except you would look stupid.
  18. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) Give Buehrle the same stuff that Santana has, and Buehrle >>> Santana. There, fixed it for you. You can thank me later .
  19. QUOTE(danman31 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) Scheyer and Sherron Collins were both named to the west team of the McDonald's High School All-American game. Doesn't mean anything. Who does and doesn't make those games is all politics, usually based on whoever is sponsoring the game.
  20. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 06:48 PM) Hammer does seem to have almost a blind bias towards defensive minded players. I think he would take Bowen over Lebron. He'd take Tyson over both, since he's going to be remembered as one of the great defenders of all time
  21. Bring back Tommie Williams, I enjoy Silvy and Carmen, Lawrence Holmes is very good, Mac, Jurko, and Harry are all good, and give me 3 hours a day of Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann somehow. As for everybody else, you can pretty much send them to radio hell, because they all suck.
  22. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 11:03 PM) Hinrich, Gordon, Deng and Chandler are all talented players who should only get better as time goes on. Hinrich is a pretty good point guard, but ideally he's your 4th best starter on a good team. Ben Gordon can do 1 thing, shoot. Tyson Chandler only exists on half the floor, and although a hell of a defender and rebounder, has an offensive game that isn't half as good as mine sitting in a college classroom. Deng COULD be a very good all around player, but isn't there yet. I think Hinrich is pretty good, but Gordon isn't going to change except maybe score a bit more consistently, and Chandler is what he is. They are nice players, but the only player on the current roster that could be a really good all around player is Deng, and he still has work to do to get there.
  23. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) I disagree with that. Most realize that the Bulls have a lot of talent. I think when people talk about the Bulls being a hard working team, they mean that they don't rely on a superstar. Basically because they don't have one. I don't see the lot of talent. We don't have a single legit post scorer or 2 guard, and that's 2 pretty damn big holes. We have a lot of solid young players, but the only one I think could turn out really good is Luol Deng.
  24. QUOTE(Spiff @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 10:41 PM) you people and your talented favorite players :rolly what ever happened to rooting for the underdog? I get annoyed as hell when people call players "blue collar" and "hard working" and all that.....those terms mean you have no talent, but hey he plays hard! That's my problem with the Bulls, as long as we are known as a team that plays hard, we will go nowhere because it's a confession that the talent isn't there.
  25. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 10:42 PM) I'm pretty shocked that the NU win over Wiscy hasn't been mentioned here. That's because Ohio State won the Big 10 last night.
