  1. QUOTE (Sox1422 @ Dec 7, 2009 -> 11:44 AM) I thought the bike was cool, but I'm not a big fan of the scoreboard. I thought that was kind of lame. The wheels were sweet. Totally agree. They should have painted the final scorboard somewhere on the bike. To ride around with an LED diplaying "perfect" would be pretty lame. Hopefully it can be removed without doing much damage to the rest of the bike. It's similar to "Monster House" (or whatever that show Ty Pennington hosts is called). One of the people they're helping will mention that they like to sing, and then they'll design a bedroom with a stage and microphone, etc. Cool for a day, but who really wants a stage taking up 1/3 of their bedroom?
  2. It's unlikely that this is a USPS error. Someone in the military at the point of delivery messed up, methinks. Seems like the post office just returned the mail to the sender that was returned to the post office as undeliverable.
  3. QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 01:19 PM) Which 12? 1. Bright Eyes 2. Jimmy Eat World - I know they had a big hit a few years ago, but I don't recall the name of it. I know it when I hear it, though. 3. Alkaline Trio 4. The Killers - only recognize the name, don't know the music 5. Manchester Orchestra 6. Green Day 7. Death Cab for Cutie - recognize the name, don't know the music 8. Alice in Chains 9. Weezer 10. The Dillinger Escape Plan 11. Thrice 12. Dredg 13. Every Time I Die 14. Machine Head 15. Nirvana 16. Soundgarden 17. Thursday 18. Angels & Airwaves 19. Muse 20. The Gaslight Anthem Obviously, I'm not much into the modern music scene, so I'm not passing judgement. Music is not my passion. I do so love to prance about, though.
  4. QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 09:44 AM) Big shock, I was one of the four without the beatles on my list: 1. Bright Eyes 2. Jimmy Eat World 3. Alkaline Trio 4. The Killers 5. Manchester Orchestra 6. Green Day 7. Death Cab for Cutie 8. Alice in Chains 9. Weezer 10. The Dillinger Escape Plan 11. Thrice 12. Dredg 13. Every Time I Die 14. Machine Head 15. Nirvana 16. Soundgarden 17. Thursday 18. Angels & Airwaves 19. Muse 20. The Gaslight Anthem I've never heard of 12 of those bands.
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 28, 2009 -> 11:12 AM) Until a positive test shows up, like in Bonds' or Palmeiro's case, I see no direct reason to deny McGwire. McGwire was named in a FBI investigation as a user before the BALCO and Congress stuff. http://www.nydailynews.com/archives/sports...bi_informa.html He wasn't pursued because the focus of the investigation was on the dealers, not users. Another interesting point in the investigation is that Reggie Jackson is good friends with the guy said to have supplied/injected McGwire several times. Who knows how far back steroid use in baseball really goes?
  6. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 05:45 AM) Connect FZ with Journey. Frank Zappa listened to and didn't like Journey.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 11:08 AM) Does Champ Bailey get away with pass intereference more than a Zackary Bowman because of who he is?? No Does Cliff Lee get a much bigger strike zone than Scott Eyre? No In MLB, Glavine and Maddux had a completely different strike zone than most other pitchers. The reason? Both guys could consistently pound the spot where the catcher placed his glove. If that was 6 inches off the plate, so be it. In the NFL, guys like Michael Irvin got away with pushing off a DB because they were known as "physical" receivers. Star treatment happens in all the sports. That said, the NBA sucks. I find it almost impossible to watch a regular season game anymore. I don't know why they don't call travelling when guys take three steps, or why point guards can carry the ball the way they do. I think it's part of the reason we have trouble in international play (in addition to the rest of the world improving). In international play, we don't get away with all the things NBA players take for granted.
  8. Morganna, the Kissing Bandit. Those were some nice spectacles. And bouncy.
  9. I taped the WS in '05, and I never watched it until recently. Actually, I'm in the process of watching Game 2, and the announcers are talking about Pettite and how his velocity has improved since the beginning of the season. They also talk about how his fitness improved after the Yankees picked up Clemens. Kind of funny to listen to now.

  11. QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 06:30 PM) Probably not too long after that I would guess. He was 89. But hey, that guy was one of the coolest guys I ever met. I worked with a mailman who was 81 and still delivering mail in Phoenix, AZ. I'm 37.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 12:16 PM) Nope, I'm the same way. I'd be surprised if Bolt ISN'T on PED's. In the ESPN magazine issue with one of the Molina bros on the cover, there's an article about Bolt. In the article, it's mentioned that five of Bolt's teammates on the national team have tested positive for PEDs in the past couple of years, and, if I recall correctly, Bolt has shaved almost half of a second off his previous best time in the 100 in the past couple of years. I'd also be more surprised if he ISN'T on PEDs.
  13. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 07:04 AM) The thing I really want to know is who has picked which positions and I have that tracking at the top. I find that pretty valuable in determining if I can wait an extra rd before making a pick. This is probably the most important thing that you should know during a draft. I'm in two leagues, and I'd bet that half of the guys in each league don't pay attention to the other teams' rosters. Knowing what the other teams need allows you to skip players that you're sure will be available when the draft comes around to your next pick.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 04:53 PM) Is this real? You made my day with this post.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 10:19 AM) I wish the schedule makers would just leave out the good teams. Oh bother Pooh, is that you?
  16. I crapped out a Barbie shoe. Still pink after 20+ years..
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 11:46 PM) Canseco now saying a Hall of Famer was on PEDs Hate to continue to feed the ego on this douche, but he's somehow became a saint lately. 7 HOF teammates of Canseco's.. Reggie Jackson Wade Boggs Don Sutton Nolan Ryan Rickey Henderson Rich Gossage Dennis Eckersley Since he's saying this now, ima go out on a limb and say it was Rickey Henderson but that's pure speculation on my part. Though Rickey would probably tell me that Rickey don't do steroids, Rickey is a clean player, and Rickey got all of Rickey's stats the natural way cause he's the greatest of all time. I swear that I heard Reggie Jackson was good friends with one of the steroid suppliers who was caught a few years ago. I tried to find the story, but couldn't find it. Of those seven players listed, the only ones I'd rule out are Sutton and Eck. I doubt Gossage and Boggs, but could be talked into them.
  18. QUOTE (League @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 11:53 AM) Eh. Beckett has been mediocre in 2/4 of his years there, and Hanley could possibly be the best player in baseball. Imagine an infield of Youk-Pedroia-Hanley-Lowell. Sick. Didn't Lowell go to Boston in that trade?
  19. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 09:11 PM) I don't know if your at that point yet, but the best advice I can give you is live within your means, budget your expenses, pay your bills on time, keep your credit card balances manageable and don't buy a car that costs more that what you make annually. That may be more than you're dealing with currently, but in the longterm, it'll help. More valuable advice: "Never get less than 12 hours sleep. Never play cards with a guy with the same first name as a city and never go near a lady with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Everything else is cream cheese." - Coach Bobby Finstock
  20. Wise and Fields are supposed to help him out yet again.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) For some reason "The Rev" looks like Don Cooper from behind. I'm not sure why anyone would know what Don Cooper looks like from behind - or why they'd admit it.
  22. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 05:00 PM) I nominate anyone who uses only their first name, and if it's not their first name, it's weird. Brian, Jake, etc.... real creative. Afraid to call out Steff?
  23. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 08:47 AM) I want to know how Middle Buffalo came up with that name. I like it...and I don't know why. I'll wait and see if anyone knows why before I answer. All right. 4 minutes is a long enough wait. Middle Buffalo is one of the names that the Indian Chief proposes as Peter's Indian name in the Grand Canyon episode of "The Brady Bunch." Peter's voice cracks with disgust when he hears it, and I've always thought it was a funny thing to randomly throw into a conversation. That also explains my avatar. Best I can tell, the Peter Brady pic is from the "porkchopsandapplesauce" episode - which is another thing we used to say way too much around my house growing up.
  24. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 10:08 AM) I checked the box score and he three 77 pitches and 56 or so were for strikes . I hate when box scores aren't specific about game stats.
  25. The Karate Kid - I watch it every time I stumble upon it until I have something important to do. There's rarely anything more important than The Karate Kid.
