  1. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Oct 4, 2008 -> 10:38 PM) The baserunning phantom interference call this season was against the Rays, wasn't it? correct. it was a Sunday afternoon and the game was on TBS. I remember watching that play. === AJ was loved in Minnesota. Part of it is that Twins fans are sort of stupid, and part of it is that AJ chose to play for the Sox (gotta hate that Sox you know) and part of it is that he spiked Morneau a few year back, and part of it is all the game winning hits AJ seems to hit against the Twins
  2. thanks for the kind words. I really do enjoy the Twins/Sox rivalry. Both teams fanbases makes it exciting. Both teams way of playing baseball makes it heartbreaking (Twins give up a 500 foot HR to Jim Thome for the 7 billionth time, or the Twins bunt-bunt-bloop a run to win a game). The Twins needs a better infield (sans Justin Morneau). Maybe a little more bullpen depth. I am looking forward to an exciting offseason
  3. congrats on winning a well played Game 163. I mean that was one heck of a game. Good luck in the playoffs Jim
  4. I think what he meant is that Justin morneau's bat has dissapeared in the last two weeks
  5. I literally gave up on this team during the Tampa series. 2 1/2 back with a week to go just seemed impossible, especially the way the bullpen give up bushels of runs
  6. I don't understand the booing. A lot of Twins fans are idiots
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 07:23 PM) This has to be one of the worst stat lines for a MLB hitter who gets at least 100 AB http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/8214 even worse than Tony Pena Jr? http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7731
  8. Congrats on winning the 08 AL Central title
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Sep 13, 2008 -> 10:26 PM) Additionally, when was the last time we swept a doubleheader? Before the time of Christ? I know some scientists just started up a spiffy new collider in Europe. Maybe they also seek the answer to that question. last July 24 against Detroit The Twins bullpen is terrible. The starting pitching staff cant pitch 8 inning everynight for the rest of the year. The division lead will bounce around until the until of the year.
  10. hey, will you guys be playing baseball tommorrow? or is rain still in the forecast
  11. oh yeah, I know the Sox and Twins are having a battle of 'Who has the Crappiest Playoff-Bound Bullpen' these days
  12. fyi: Twins-O's rained out tonight. A doublehead will start Saturday. 4:05pm central is Game 1, Game 2 will follow
  13. once I saw Guerrier warming up, I knew the game is over thats sad
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 05:03 PM) the key to beating the Twins anymore is just getting to the bullpen...their bullpen over the past month and a half all year has been just terrible. fixed
  15. the Twins will face another lefty on Tuesday. That will be 7 straight left handed starters. And pretty much this whole west coast swing has been lefty starters (Lackey and Miguel Batista in Seattle are the only 2 righties that I can think of) its Sept 1st and in horse racing terms DOWN THE STRETCH WE COME with our teams neck and neck may the best team win
  16. guess which team does not want to take the lead in the AL Central? I hate west coast trips
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 05:53 PM) That guy is so much better that Cuddyer defensively, it's incredible. Well, at least the line-up is turned over and Ichiro will leadoff against Nathan to start the bottom of the 9th. I agree with you. Although, Cuddyer has a better arm. but he is a slug speed-wise and doesnt get as good as break on the balls in the gaps. Span's natural position is CF, so I would guess that is why he gets really good reads on balls. And he is a quick learner. Gardy loves that kind of stuff
  18. well, that stinks Im not worried yet...only 2 games back
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) I wonder what it'd take to get Beltre? Well, the M's wanted one of the Twins starters plus some more pitching when the Twins inquired about him earlier this year
  20. that loss was a kick in the nutsacks
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 06:43 PM) I think we may miss Cliff Lee when we play them next week. lucky! the twins have been lucky this year. We have played the Mariners 3 times, and looks like we'll miss King Felix all three times
  22. I hope that Thigpen holds on for the record. Is there nothing more annoying in baseball right now than K-Rod doing his little celebration on the mound after a save? as for best closers, even though I am a Twins fan and Joe Nathan is pretty awesome, I give a slight nod to Mo Rivera becuase he has done it for a longer time edit: and Joakim Soria is straight up filthy. He is the only reason to watch Royals baseball these days. He is one of my favorite non-Twins (along with Curtis Granderson and Joe Crede) in the AL Central
  23. they are an after thought nowadays, but the Cleveland Indians are playing some pretty good baseball lately. They are on a 7 game win streak, and 8-2 in thier last 10 games
