  1. Im over it... it just sucks to lose when your best pitcher is in the bullpen and second and third string player are facing thier best hitters but today is a new day, my team is still in it and the brand of baseball both the Twins and Sox and playing is sure exciting, yet completely different
  2. I just want to say...once again, the White Sox win at the Cell late in the game. Nice to have the umps help steal the division lead away the Twins bullpen didnt help either. So half game to the umps, and half game to fatboy Reyere and Crainwreck
  3. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 11:57 PM) I think they just said Teixeira has never hit a walk off HR, but that doesn't seem right. accoding to baseball-reference.com, Tex has 0 walkoff HR's. Also 0 lead off HR
  4. I forgot to add, Alexi Casilla is back, Brian Bass was outrighted to make room for Casilla coming off the DL today
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 12:07 PM) MLBtv doing the scoreboard feed from Metrodome synced up with radio feed. I hate when they do this. FSN North rarely broadcasts afternoon weekday games. It pisses me off to no end. Its not like Twins fans are tuning out of the games the last few years. (If I remember right, the last time the White Sox and Twins played, FSN had its highest rating ever scoring over a 10.0) Its off to the West Coast to play the Angels for 4. Weird thing about LAA is that they play a night game AT Tampa, then fly back home to play the Twins tommorrow. the Schedulers were not kind to LAA there
  6. Kevin Slowey had 12 k's in 7 innings
  7. I gotta say...I'm worried about the Twins bullpen. I think they have been glossed over on the National Media's coverage of the Twins. Guerrier is burnt out, Crain can't throw strikes, Boof is not a bullpen guy. Bass sucks, Reyes is a LOOGY and cant get a righty out and Breslow is mediocre (I never worry about Nathan) I havent looked up the numbers, but I think people will be shocked at how awful the bullpen has been.
  8. Delmon hit a monster shot in KC over the weekened too. So thats 3 in the last week
  9. the score is 12-7 now in the 5th now go Texas!
  10. potentially good news for baseball fans in Iowa http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Aom3...o&type=lgns
  11. well, usually on appeals they are reduced. Im thinking he is not getting that reduction. he may get it extended..I dont know. But it seemed a bit odd to go out and drill a guy when you have an appeal not taken care of
  12. It will be interesting to hear if Grienke's suspension is reduced. He drilled Delmon Young. Young hit a homer earlier in the game, and the batter before drilled a triple off the wall
  13. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Aug 6, 2008 -> 05:49 PM) Who the hell is randy ruiz, what do they f***in clone people. They all are the same people. Ruiz is actually a career minor leaguer. the Phillies was his last team. Something like 8+ seasons of AA and below. Got his chance at Rochester this year and all he did was mash
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 6, 2008 -> 02:23 PM) Come on Jim, you have to know that the Dome, its surface, its awful background, and the mysterious amplification of crowd noise and air conditioning give the Twins one of the best home field advantages in baseball. There arent many parks where bleeders sneak through on hard carpet, balls bounce over 3B head like clockwork, and you can lose a ball so easily in the ceiling. The Twins are going to have a hard time gaining that advantage with an outdoor grass park. The ceiling sucks. But both home and away team have struggled with it the last few years. The Air Conditioning thing is a totaly myth. And the Astroturf has been long gone. Its now that field turf where the balls dont bounce so high. I dont deny that the Twins play better at home. Its probably due a little to the Stadium. But the last few years its been because the Twins have fielded a pretty good team. And its perception too. I see the posts, the threads that bemoan going to Metrodome. 'We cant win there' they say. I always think back to Mothers Day 2006 (http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MIN/MIN200605140.shtml) There ws no give up during that game I really cant wait to leave that hellhole of a stadium though. Its sucks. I guess the demensions of teh new park are going to be similar to Metrodome. But now the groundskeepers can cheat 'with' fooling around with the baselines so bunts can be fair. long grass so the speedy outfielders that we have lined up in the farm system (Ben Revere, Aaron Hicks) can get that extra base, so on and so forth. === back to todays game. 4-1 lead....I dont feel safe
  15. Apparently, Colorado won the waiver sweepstakes for Livan the Twins and rox are trying to work out a trade or however that all works
  16. I gotcha btw.. I hope my comments didnt come off as bitter or anything. I dont want to start something. I respect your team...its just that...oooh first place tasted nice and Nick Swisher hits a HR when you really needed one. It just seems to happens a lot
  17. I never want to hear a Sox fan complain about the 'luck' the Twins have at the Metrodome I swear, you guys in the Cell....there is always about 10 games a year where you hit a 3 run bomb late in the game to win. and on that note, welcome back to first place. This division race is like a close horse race, neck and neck and were are coming up on the 3/4 mile post
  18. please, put him in your rotation!
  19. yeah, Ruiz was brought in to be the left handed pitching basher had a line of .313/.360/.514/.874 and was pretty much all of Rochesters offense this year Where Ruiz is different than most guys the Twins bring up, he is pretty much a DH. Most guys that the Twins bring up are versitile guys who can at least be competent out in the field. The specualtion is that Ruiz will be with the team until Michael Cuddyer is healthy again
  20. Liriano is going to start Sunday at home against the Tribe
  21. probably dont want to see a Twins fans round these parts for a while, but I found this while doing the morning blog reading: http://www.twinkietown.com/2008/8/1/584473...nalysis-for-the hope that is some help
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 03:48 PM) A hateable player going to the ultimate hateable team. Works out nicely. right on man
