  1. nice, glad there is no real backup ss on the roster. what a shit sandwich this summer has been.
  2. Fair enough. If Hahn fucks this up and the team sucks in 2021 shit can him. I got no great love for the guy. But he deserves, based on what he's done the last two years, to see it out imo.
  3. You're ascribing an awful lot of things to Hahn that were almost certainly out of his control @Balta1701. It's not even clear that Hahn was the loudest voice in the FO until sometime around 2015. It's impossible to untangle the end of KW's tenure with the beginning of Hahn's. All that said, anybody that raid my post yesterday wrt to Eloy knows where I stand on "trust the process" right now. I'm trusting, but I also need to verify. Right now that verification is seeing a guy with an 215wRC+ (lulwut?) in AAA come up and later for worries about 7 years from now in a new CBA.
  4. are you seriously fucking suggesting they keep him down the first two weeks of next year for SUPER FUCKING 2 REASONS??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? WHEN THE CBA IS UP FOR NEGOTIATION in 2021? stay strong when the org is slapping me in the fucking face over some trifle? I'll slap the fuck org back and not pay any attention or spend any money until playoffs then.
  5. lol who gives a shit about some drunkass on a game thread. I'm not calling the game AS A PROFESSIONAL.
  6. I have watched about 2/3 of the games this year and out of those 70 or so I've had on the opponents broadcast 60 or so. I can't listen to Jason. He doesn't know anything about baseball and it appears that he hasn't taken it upon himself to learn the rule book or ask other more vet announcers how to determine how well a ball is hit off the bat. LIke why would I watch a broadcast where the pbp guy is always behind the action because he doesn't know the rules, like on a pass ball with 1st base occupied or catchers' interference?
  7. I'm still trusting the process but I have serious doubts about Renteria. That said, if next year the MLB team is as bad as it is this year then we got a problem. This has to be the low point.
  8. if they keep eloy down for super 2 reasons next year they can fuck off and I'd reconsider spending any money ever again to see them.
  9. oh totally. it's the old question what comes first winning or chemistry? Well, win first and figure it out. The Sox had shit teams when those guys were here, of course there were some beefs and shit.
  10. The Sox are currently playing Madrigal at SS. That should give you a clue as to how far out they are thinking with him, and perhaps who is the odd man out...
  11. how many guys have the Sox even interviewed the last two managerial changes? 3? Was it even more than Ricky and Robin? Ugh.
  12. I think things are going to come to a head with the fanbase and players if they keep these guys down through the rest of the year. Will it have long term damaging effects? Probably not, but I think only good things can come from calling a couple guys up that deserve it.
  13. Renteria is dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to in game stuff.
  14. No it's meant as a wry observation. Hard to just "do your job" when nobody is really doing there job and you're a 23 year old "face of the franchise". I'm 100% on the "it's time to stop tanking so fucking hard" bandwagon. Call up Eloy, call up Kopech, maybe Zevy, and try and fucking show something. This club is moribund, it's not a good environment.
  15. Moncada now has the 3rd highest qualified OPS on the team. It's gotta be really fucking hard to try and develop in such a shit environment.
  16. Anderson down to a 694 OPS? ooof.
  17. It's kinda funny how Sale hasn't pulled any of that shit in Boston. Says something about Ventura and the other vets in tha clubhouse. Adam was probably right fwiw, it was a shit clubhouse. Of course Adam was part of the problem. Adam and Sale are both guys that will fall in line behind strong leaders but in the absence of leadership will struggle to fill the void and do stupid shit.
  18. we need some feel good stories the last couple months. I hope Moncada gets hotter than shit and finishes around a 780 OPS, that would be so awesome.
  19. It was just a lot of spit-balling on both sides but my feelings are that those guys were traded 100% for baseball reasons. They were far and away the best assets the club had. If any sentimentality went into it that was thrown out the window when they ditched Q last year imo. Q is a guy that embodied the underdog, written off mentality and they shipped him off (in a great trade) as well.
