They say W. Michigan is one of the cloudiest places on earth. As someone that did 20 some odd winters there I think they ain't lying. Misery loves company. It's 38 today with a venus like cloud cover. Had some flurries this morning. I figured we were done with winter and on our way to spring but we finally got a gulf of alaska low pressure the last week. Had some hail too. Oddly we had no real winter weather in January or December. Climate is def changing. It was 50 and dry for most of January here. Anyways, go Sox. Glad to be getting into the better part of the calander.

I can't stand when announcers b**** and moan about their job. Especially when you're being paid to be at spring training.

Cubs sideline reporter said it's "freezing" in Phoenix today? Come on it's 61 and partly sunny. Not exactly that cold for mid February down there. Freezing relatively would be like high 40s.

The B1G really went from Kevin Warren to Tony Pettiti. Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Sorry Bears, he's your problem now. We'll deal with Tony in due time.

Not even the Sox can screw this one up. If he doesn't pan out he doesn't pan out but this guy looks like the easy choice. An average to good defensive SS that hits like 270/330/450 is a 4 WAR player. Be nice to inject that into the club in a couple years and move Colson over to 3B like Machado did.

Eh, we don't have any real superstar projections. Offense will probably be bottom 1/3, pitching bottom 1/4. Maybe we can improve to an average overall position player crop given that on paper we should have strong defense up the middle.

I just want to see some continued progress from the young position players. The pitching for now is what it is. We have maybe a couple decent 4th starters, maybe a couple solid relievers, and that's about it. Can't win much with that.

Rooting for Taiwan, US, Mexico and PR in that order.

That is a guy that needs some work on his swing. Nothing we didn't know.

I think the problem with Ramos is teams get a look at him and realize he's a mediocre at best 3B that can't hit a lick. There's no role for him as a backup only playing one position. He should probably just go to Korea so he can make 500K before 30 and get some sort of pension.

All those athletic looking young players then they give us Bennie looking like my 42 year old ass turning the treadmill up to 13mph for a quarter mile sprint.

I was randomly listened to a Cards podcast last night. They are in a bad way. They might have a worse roster than the Sox and they don't have much on the farm either.

I wonder what the statcast has on his swing speed. It has to be 70th percentile or higher.

I'll be in the area from the 17th to the 22 of March. Looks like I should be able to catch the tail end. Diamondbacks are at Camelback on the 19th at 6:05. Have not been to a night game there, probably target that one.
