  1. WOW, f***ING 3.5 MINUTES TO CALL HIM SAFE! NO WONDER THE f***ING GAMES ARE LONGER MANFRED.
  2. holy f*** is RV drunk already? Sands 5th! Jackson lead off. My god that is an AWFUL lineup. At least f***ing bat Lawrie 5th. Garcia 8th? I mean come on. Avi isn't great but he's better than f***ing Jackson and Sands.
  3. QUOTE (Lillian @ May 27, 2016 -> 12:44 PM) The thing to remember, "Chitown" is that if he can't draw walks, he will need to be a .300 plus hitter, in order to have an acceptable OBP. That is a pretty high bar for a young player, even one with a much longer professional career track record. His current OBP is only .21 above his average. That is fine if he can keep hitting .321. Moreover, I think some overlook how hard it is to get extra base hits, unless you are hitting balls in the strike zone. You will note that an awful lot of his hits are singles. Of course, if he can steal enough bases, that would help boost the number of his total bases. I don't think he will have any problem hitting for average in the big leagues, at least until he's 28 or so as his speed and hard contact will allow him to have a BABIP of around .350 or even higher. If he can hit 300/330/430 with average defense that's a 3-5 WAR SS. I'm very high on Anderson as he's one of the few Sox position players that has responded to every early promotion they've given him.
  4. I honestly think Anderson can make it work without taking many walks. I'll take some s*** for this but his swing reminds me a bit of a right handed Tony Gwynn. It appears to have a hitch in it but he gets his hands to the ball incredibly fast. Obviously if TA has half the MLB hits as Gwynn by the time his career his up the Sox will have a helluva player for the next decade plus.
  5. QUOTE (Wanne @ May 25, 2016 -> 07:10 PM) I'd take Renteria...maybe that's why he was brought in...in case this team fell flat on it's face again. That being said...some sort of change is needed. My first move would be s***canning Steverson....if for nothing else to start making people accountable and serving as a wakeup call. Certainly not a bad place to start. Its time to clear out the dead wood. Including perhaps don cooper.
  6. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 24, 2016 -> 08:47 PM) Took a shower, what happened with Avi/Lawrie? fairly hard hit ball to the left side of the infield and right in front of Lawrie at 2B. For some reason he's off on contact (probably had no idea where the SS was) and is easily caught in a run down. At the same time, Avi is off 1st base and gets thrown out. Not really Avi's fault IMO, Lawrie hung him out to dry.
  7. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ May 24, 2016 -> 08:08 PM) Tomlin is settling in. too many automatic outs right now in the lineup.
  8. Ha, I got the volume muted at work who is in the booth?
  9. QUOTE (Deadpool @ May 24, 2016 -> 07:54 PM) Melky... more like wtf was Jackson doing? Had to have been an awful route to the ball.
  10. QUOTE (Green Line @ May 23, 2016 -> 10:51 PM) Considering how Ventura tends to concede 2 run games in the 7th inning, I know he wouldn't place that bet! RV is the sort of moron that stands on 16 when dealer has Ace showing.
  11. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 23, 2016 -> 10:43 PM) I wouldnt put $10,000 on the sun coming up tomorrow. That's because I dont have $10,000. I'd put everything I have on it.
  12. don't know this kid at all but but he's throwing strikes so good job on that.
  13. QUOTE (Tony @ May 23, 2016 -> 10:23 PM) If the Sox were up 5-1, Tribe had a runner on 3rd, and the Sox threw home and it didn't work out, everyone would go ape. Fathom is right, that's the type of play that can extend an inning for no reason. It worked out for Cleveland, but it was an unnecessary risk for them to take given where the score was. I dunno man, let's say for example another good defensive 3B comes home like that, maybe Joe Crede or Todd Frazier -- that's their game! That's why they are paid what they are... Yea sure if it's f***ing Conor Gillaspie go to 1st but Uribe has a gun and 98/100 he nails that throw. Uribe knows his skills.
  14. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 23, 2016 -> 10:21 PM) Arrrggghhh! This team needs to be ripped apart from bottom to top and all sides and start over again. But, let's keep Ventura are we watching the same team? this team actually has some talent on balance, no smoking holes like usual. I see a solid club with a bad manager.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2016 -> 10:20 PM) Actually a dumb play by Uribe not when you have that arm.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2016 -> 10:19 PM) What the hell is Jackson doing there? That run means nothing. been a lot of stupid today.
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 23, 2016 -> 10:12 PM) If Sox come back and wind up losing 5-4, I think you are changing your tune. exactly. that is what I was trying to say with the ".5" runs comment. Games are won and lost in the margins. The manager shows up there.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2016 -> 10:10 PM) Well, we will never know, because we didn't even bother to try to hold the lead to just 2 runs with either Jennings or Putnam. We also screwed over Erik Johnson, honestly hope they just trade him and let him get a fresh start with another organization. The fact is, looking at the next couple of games, especially tmrw...you don't anticipate using your entire bullpen in a Chris Sale start. the horse was out the barn door when latos was pulled earlier in the day.
  19. Jackson is starting to swing a nice bat. he's actually pulling the ball with authority, nice to see.
