Tim Anderson
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 12, 2016 -> 03:30 PM) Out of curiosity, I wonder how many here would agree with that back then. anybody with half a brain and two working eyes. His minor league numbers were mediocre offensively and the scouting reports on his defense were brutal -- and he was always very old for his level. That the dude is not in MLB currently and was given a total of 3 PA by the Dodgers should surprise nobody. I continually railed against the idea of Micah as the starting 2B and I remember only a few were on my side.

David Robertson didn't pitch in a 1 run save situation
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 9, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) Someone would have to look up the numbers at FG, but the Yankees' announcers have been consistently claiming Robertson was a much harder thrower when he faced them in the past pitching for NY. eh, the stats. they are full of s*** mostly. the problem, as we all see with DR, is that much like Carlos he either has OK fastball command or no fastball command. They do well when they have it, meh (at best) when they don't. Look at the run values for his fastball this year. his cutter is as good as ever, his fastball is either missing or getting too much of the plate is my guess.

David Robertson didn't pitch in a 1 run save situation
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 9, 2016 -> 08:30 PM) What? it was a 5-0 game, DR, because "he needed work" was inserted into the non save situation. He hurt his leg. Almost fugged them today. Might again tmr. It was a stupid decision by RV: you give your closer all the rest he can get this time of year. Let him throw a simulated game or some s*** if he's really hurting for work. RV's risking injury or a confidence problem (non save situation, your closer, hopefully he doesn't give up a couple...) for the huge upside of avoiding giving your closer a 6 day layoff at worst. What's the upside? Zero. These things add up with RV...

David Robertson didn't pitch in a 1 run save situation
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 9, 2016 -> 06:25 PM) That was suffered (apparently) in that Wednesday game that we were all saying it wasn't necessary to use him...oh, well. it was stupid then and stupid now. He didn't "need work". RV took another un necessary risk with the pen.

Sox Math
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 9, 2016 -> 10:03 AM) pnoles one of the SSS groupies. Really? That dude is part of the reason I decided to stop posting there. Unlike larry, pnoles actually doesn't really provide much insight to go with his arrogance. larry is great however. Honestly ever since the Cheat left SSS just hasn't done it for me. Not a huge fan of Margulus.

Oh good load the bases so there's no margin for error. Great plan. Never, ever a fan of walking the bases loaded unless it's f***ing Bonds up.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 9, 2016 -> 03:55 PM) Now this? What do you mean now this? We have no idea why he's not pitching. He's not pitching, that's the problem. The reason literally does not matter right now. Tmr sure, but not right now.

DR is quickly becoming one of my most unliked guys on the team. He's being paid like a very good closer and he's performing like an average one, and now this?

where is ptac? DR is the glass man.

**7/9 Game Thread: White Sox vs The Not So Braves"
I swear to god team is going ot finish 84-78 and with a better manage they'd be 88-74 and have that 2nd WC.

we got guys unavailable the series before the break? Nah, it has to be that RV just is a f***ing moron. It's the simplest explanation. Why the f*** would Robertson or Jones not be available today?

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 10:37 PM) That Beck choice gonna haunt the Sox now wasn't going to to say anything but RV gonna RV. He think he has last years offense or something.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 08:44 PM) So this lineup is clearly much better with Sanchez instead of Avisail. Just gonna call it now. you improve the defense with Sanchez at 2B and Lawrie at DH as well.

QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 12:52 PM) Right there with you on the selling part. I was part of the crowd 3 weeks ago but things have changed. I didn't realize Teheran was going tomorrow vs Quintana. Might be a hard one to win but I like the matchup tonight & Sunday. I think regardless you can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel -- this team isn't bad anymore they are just mediocre or maybe even slightly above average. That might be enough for a 2nd WC and I am pretty happy with the direction of the club other then Avi and RV at the moment. I like what I'm seeing from most everyone else.

A sweep would go a LONG way. 2/3 would be great as well. Just keep the momentum going.

Frazier participating in HR Derby
great, he's gonna hit .100 in the 2nd half, book it.
-
Carson Fulmer "in play" for second half
Rodon needs to keep taking his lumps. Eventually he'll turn into a very good 2/3rd starter. If he can develop his changeup more and command he'll be a #1. Worst case he is what he is now but I just don't see it. He's basically being groomed at the MLB level instead of AA/AAA.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 10:30 PM) Outside the ALC, the Sox only have a losing record against the Nationals and Rays. stupid unbalanced schedule.

7/6/16 - Yankees @ White Sox - 7:10 - WPWR
QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 10:10 PM) I don't recall him missing much time. my complaint is with the perception I guess, he's fine but RV seems to treat him with kid arms. I'd just let him rest today.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 10:10 PM) SouthSider should be more optimistic. He's starting to sound like Hawk when it comes to umpire reviews/challenges. if you ask most fans I think they'd say the replay process sucks and hasn't resulted in a "fairer" overall experience. It gets the really bad ones fixed sure but on average meh. 90% of the time a challenge happens it's obvious the call should stand imo. This is baseball, given any sort of reasonable doubt just move on and leave it. 90 seconds tops on the review should be the standard.
