  1. People losing their damn minds over rumors. Come on, what in the last 18 months makes you think NOW Hahn is impatient and wants to throw away all that hard work he did to go all in on a Machado trade? Have some faith, or a beer.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 07:04 PM) I haven't seen anyone say this yet so I will - if RH does trade for Machado and the player leaves as a free agent, that would count in my eyes as his 6th "fireable offense". That's how big of a mistake that would be. well sure but the worst case scenario isn't that, it's that they can't recoup at the deadline what they traded in the offseason. If Machado isn't signing there's zero chance they let him just walk. I mean, if Hahn trades Kopech and Eloy for Machado you fire him too, but that's not going to happen.
  3. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 06:07 PM) Machado hates Boston and would never sign with them. And what would they give up anyways? it would certainly be interesting to see those clubs do a deal after all the fighting they did on field last year.
  4. Seems like the Sox could offer a package similar to something around Sanchez. Start with Dunning (or Gio/Lopez) and go from there. This guy Sanchez is a good prospect but he's not a top 20 guy or anything. More like a B+ type.
  5. QUOTE (Saladino'sMustache @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 05:47 PM) Not saying this means anything, but 14 minutes ago Delmonico posted a picture on Instagram with Machado that was taken in 2010....https://www.instagram.com/p/BcsqSiMnlQJ/?taken-by=nickydelmonico interesting. It's some smoke.
  6. QUOTE (Sockin @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 05:37 PM) @Buster_ESPN The Diamondbacks have checked in on Machado conversations. White Sox, Cardinals have best offers so far. How does it make any sense that the two best offers are Cards and Sox? Those clubs couldn't be further apart in their windows.
  7. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 05:06 PM) I think the White Sox are just playing Pricing Cop to make sure nobody gets him cheap. They're probably legitimately surprised that they're considered a high bidder. Well if they are just doing "due dilligence" and found their offer was pretty good maybe they should act on it.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 04:32 PM) I suppose that's the thing about the word "discussed" instead of "included". Unless he comes with a guaranteed 5-7 year extension would you even trade Kopech for Machado straight up? I wouldn't.
  9. QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 04:24 PM) Wrong you're fun. you'd think with 120 odd posts you could maybe add some context to some. Sorry, but there's no guarantee TA makes a smooth transition to CF. It's my opinion you know, but there's a reason you don't see the transition that often.
  10. Ya know an infield of Yolmer, Machado, Moncada, Abreu gets me excited.
  11. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 03:53 PM) I like this Dan Clark fellow: https://twitter.com/danclarksports/status/941155857022066688 lol, the aussie accent slays me.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 03:45 PM) Dan Clark‏Verified account @DanClarkSports Offers on Manny Machado are so strong, the #Orioles may finalize a trade by week's end. #HotStove https://twitter.com/DanClarkSports/status/941392974151270400 Well things are heating up.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 03:32 PM) Why wouldn't it Because the chances TA are a plus CF are less than that he's a plus SS, especially factoring in positional scarcity. If Machado is coming, TA should be going out imo.
  14. "No timetable" is all I needed to here. FFS how encouraging can it be.
  15. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 03:13 PM) Another thing Rosenthal said is that Machado would play SS and the Sox would move Anderson to CF. Well that doesn't make much sense IMO.
  16. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 01:39 PM) Remember when FO was a fool for not protecting Peter/Guerrero? Seems they were right about that. It's a point for Hahn.
  17. If he comes with a new deal attached or a heavy discount sign me up. If the Sox want to cash out on Anderson I'll miss the guy but it's not like his upside is that high. Anderson will always be maxed out as a 3-4 SS at best because of that walk rate and he'll probably settle in around a poor man's prime Alexie. That's not a piece you hoard when Machado is offered up.
  18. Cubs just signed Smyly to a two year deal. He'll miss the season after electing to have Tommy John.
  19. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 2, 2017 -> 11:17 PM) My question to you is if the process is so flawed how did he do soooo much better than anything he had previously done? I can understand the flawed process yielding incrementally better results but not to the extent that he blew previous numbers away. luck and better defense and running. Avi improved, but he improved into a 2 WAR starter. Not a 4 WAR star. There is like .0000001 chance he has a .397 BABIP next year. Regress that down to a still high .340 and suddenly he's a 2 WAR RF with a 270/330/450 line.
  20. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 09:30 PM) Market for #WhiteSox's Avisail Garcia is heating up, and Leury Garcia is appealing to some teams as well https://twitter.com/670TheScore/status/940755173131079680 yea that headline has absolutely no backing from the text of the article. Typical Bruce. It has two quotes from Hahn and neither mentions Avi. If the market is "heating up" it's probably because it's the Winter Meetings and the stove is turned on for every club.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2017 -> 03:56 PM) Bob Nightengale‏Verified account @BNightengale 42m42 minutes ago Stanton says he told Derek Jeter that he wanted to add pitching, and when Jeter said he wanted to subtract, he wanted out of Miami lol. You don't say...
  22. Guess I better get out the green font.
  23. QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Dec 11, 2017 -> 01:43 PM) Yankees say no I'm just catching up on this thread, did someone really suggest Kopech? Come on man.
  24. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 11, 2017 -> 01:18 PM) When the new top 100 rankings come out sometime in January I fully expect Hansen to take a pretty significant leap. The stuff is there and the control is improving. Frazier is overrated, and unless he's a plus defensive center fielder I don't think the bat will stick at a corner. Power potential is great, but only if you make enough contact to use it. Fangraphs was really down on his 2017 performance, rating him below replacement level offsensively, and -5.8 defensively...which is cause for concern. Buyer beware. Rutherford for Frazier, who says no!
  25. Just :djuhohgif: at the Mariners.
