  1. hawk's ipad is slow because the air sucks lol. get the real version.
  2. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 11, 2015 -> 09:23 PM) Dare I say Rodon cruising? uh oh.
  3. what is stone talking about? Trout has a pretty damn good arm. Highly accurate and strong enough for a CF.
  4. QUOTE (shysocks @ Aug 11, 2015 -> 03:32 PM) The 2013 team lost 99 games and Robin got an extension in the offseason. ...says it all...
  5. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 10:38 PM) Damn I forgot about that, made me look foolish lol nah, you look fine. He cherry picked his best stats from his best season. How about his .300 OBA or his wRC+ of of 98? His best season at the dish and he was worth exactly ZERO fWAR. Remember, even 3 years ago .744 OPS was poor for an OF, now it's solid. Viciedo was never half the prospect Avi was. At best Viciedo was talked about as a poor man's El Caballo -- a two tool player at most.
  6. Robin Ventura and Cooper are asleep at the wheel why the f*** is CHRIS SALE BEING USED LIKE WE ARE IN A PENNANT RACE???????????
  7. So if Avi could finish around 280/320/420 that would be great. At least show some flashes, something Viciedo never managed over a full season.
  8. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 10:19 PM) I missed that part. I heard him say something but I thought it was one play. Whelp that's what you want from your team. Guys getting on players for not hustling. It just didn't look right what Iglesias was doing out there. Very bad body language, which usually I don't care about but he made a really strange throwing motion/gesture on a possible double play ball (basically ole'd the throw to 1st and ended up doing this half pocketing / throwing of the ball towards the pitcher) and then later in the inning he pulled up and didn't dive on what looked like a catchable (for him anyways) ball up the middle. When they came into the dugout McCann said something to him probably like "hey wtf" and Iglesias went all hot head and started pushing and shoving. Iglesias is a good player but it was correct for McCann to call him out IMO.
  9. FWIW, Sanchez now has a higher OPS than Tyler f***ing Flowers. One guy is a 22 year old rookie 2B, the other guy is a veteran MLB starting catcher. Only one of those guys deserves more playing time in 2016 and it isn't f***ing the vet.
  10. Thanks for the interview. I will say he doesn't sound like your typical White Sox lifer, so he's got that going for him.
  11. The Sox have the worst, most pathetically managed broadcast crew in MLB, it's not even close. It's a sign of decay under a stagnant JR IMO.
  12. QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 02:39 PM) What skill set? the one that consistently hit for high average in the minors? The one that has made two absolute game saving plays on HRs? The one that is among the leaders in OF assists? The clay is there. It needs to be molded.
  13. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 02:31 PM) Let us refrain from calling Avisail Garcia AVISUCK. OK? At least till it's his turn to be hated on again. Sometimes these guys just need some time. I am not sure he has actually played a full season yet until hopefully 2015 It's the height of ignorance to hate on Avi. Why anyone would hate on a 24 year with his skillset is beyond me. I get that he's been below replacement but FFS there is a reason he was a highly coveted prospect doesn't mean he's gonna pan out but this isn't a Viciedo situation. I guarantee if Avi was DFA today you'd have at least a dozen teams ready to scoop him up. He has plenty of PA until his time to prove runs out. Yes the sands are ticking through the hour class but this is a young player that is playing his first full big league season. The injury f***ed him up dev wise. We all should be willing to give him at least another 500 PA.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 02:26 PM) 2nd and 3rd round. So some losses, but the average 2nd rounder never even makes the bigs so can hardly call it a crippling blow. The "all in" plan was a pretty good one IMO but instead of everything (or most things) breaking right, most things broke wrong. A lot of it is their own doing, first with bringing an obviously over matched defensively Micah north (again, poor internal scouting and development), continuing to let LaRoche play against LHP well into July, not getting more AB for Soto, waiting so long to cut bait on Conor...the list goes on.
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 01:27 PM) If Caulfield was the GM he would go back in time and acquire all of the players who turned out to be good moves and never traded any White Sox prospect who amounted to anything in the MLB. There would also be Twins and Royals. Caulfield's 2015 White Sox: CF Chris B. Young SS Marcus Semien DH Miguel Cabrera LF Nelson Cruz 1B Kendrys Morales RF Ryan Sweeney 3B Jung Ho-Kang C Josh Phegley 2B Aaron Miles Bench: Lew Ford, Nick Punto, Eduardo Escobar, Paulo Orlando and Miguel Olivo. SP 1 Max Scherzer SP 2 Gio Gonzalez SP 3 Daniel Hudson SP 4 not Jeff Samardzija aka Chris Bassit SP 5 David Holmberg The 20/20 vision on Morales is f***ing nuts. Nobody would look at the 2014 of Morales and think he was worth any sort of pickup and even in his massive "bounce back" year he's still been worth only .9 fWAR. Hell, the Melk man will probably pass him in fWAR by the end of the year.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) The White Sox have had 2 "big spending splurges where they sacrificed draft picks" in the past 5 seasons, after 2010 and after 2014. Both of them have basically been failures and the guys they spent money on have seriously underperformed. 2013 was also a big spending season, everything just collapsed during it. At the very least, sitting back and saying "this tactic has now failed for us repeatedly, what can we do different with this organization" should be at the top of the list. The spending has been the absolute least of their problems IMO. This isn't the Red Sox FO throwing hundreds of millions at replacement level players. Even this "all in" push resulted in the loss of (I believe) a 3rd round pick and the only "untradeable" contract is LaRoche and his 20 million or so over the next two years isn't crippling anything. The problem has been their arguably league worst ability to develop above replacement position players in house and properly evaluate talent to bring in both through trades and FA. The scouting and player development are two sides of the same coin and they are both utter horse s***.
  17. What would a saber style manager even have done with this club? Platoon Soto and La Roche more? I'm not really seeing the problem with RV as not being saber inclined the problem is that he doesn't have the club ready to play on a daily basis and the club lacks fundamentals in base running, defense and situational hitting.
  18. QUOTE (RegionSox @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 12:24 PM) How would they reevaluate JR's input? He is the owner, he has as much input as he wants. JR seems disenchanted with Manfred and losing his influence in the cabal of ownership. It would be a great time to re-evaluate his stake in the club and his influence. I hope he is ready to sell the club needs new leadership.
  19. I have zero faith in the current setup to produce a winner so any change IMO would need to start with a re-evaluation of the entire FO, including KW, Hahn, JRs input, scouting team, minor league instructors, etc.
  20. God forbid they'd go out of house to find a replacement...
  21. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Aug 2, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) Granted the pitching failed this series but LaRoche and Avi are f***ing terrible ball players. Avi needs a slumpbuster and another winter ball season and then 500 more PA then they can give up on him. Sucks they can't afford to carry a replacement level Avi but is what it is too many holes elsewhere.
  22. That Shark trade is probably pissing everyone off. The A's turned Russell into Semien, Phegley and Bassit and the Sox turned Semien, Bassit and Phegley into a 2 WAR rental in a non competing year. Christ on a cookie.
  23. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 1, 2015 -> 06:34 PM) Too bad Hahn thought Avi was more talented than Iglesias. Sox could have had Iglesias at SS and either sold high on Alexei or put him back in the OF where he would still be better than Avi. Avi screams "KW"
  24. jesus can you tone that sig? maybe a little smaller at least... Danks just hit 93 on the YES gun, are you kidding me...good job Melky spreading the vitamins.
