Dejong strikes out on a 3-2 fastball that looked to be 6 inches off the plate.
-
Entire team jogging off the field on a lazy fly ball to right. Yikes. I know it's not regular season but at least pretend to backup a base.
-
lol why the f*** would you bring the infield in there? It's DE LA CRUZ! Grifol is a fucking idiot.

Soroka is looking good. Breaking ball looks to have some bite. Maldonado however sucks. Jesus christ.

We might have the worst bottom 4 in all of baseball. We need a Hawk "that didn't take long" button for the game threads.

The Jarred Kelenic Appreciation Thread
chitownsportsfan replied to Harold's Leg Lift's topic in The Diamond Club
Mariners turning Kelenic into two TJS during what is ostensibly their contention window is wild, even for that s%*# club. Watch kelenic have 2 WAR and the Ms to miss the 2nd wildcard by a game. -
Garrett Crochet named Opening Day starter
chitownsportsfan replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Talked about this a bit with @ptatc he can make like 20-25 starts for about 75-90 innings. It's a different game now, if he averages 4 innings a start that's not bad, not great, but not bad. Key will be 4 innings and 2 runs, not 4. -
Maybe if he mentally knows he only has to pitch an inning or even just a couple batters he can perform. I'm not high on him anymore, at all, I think injuries have lowered his true talent to basically slightly better than replacement, but in a throwaway season for the club it will be at least interesting to see if he can harness something as a reliever.

The year is 2021, you're told Garrett Crochett is the opening day 2024 starter. Who wouldn't be excited! Come on! -

I was hoping he'd go into "openers" and "headliners". -
3/18 Guardians @ Sox - Thorpe toes the rubber
chitownsportsfan replied to WestEddy's topic in 2024 Season in Review
With all due respect one spring training start means almost nothing. He should be in the minors because we stink and he has some stuff to work on without MLB pressure. -

God that Guardian's logo is horrible. Should have just went with the Spiders. -
So who's going to pitch in the rotation? You just removed Cease, Kopech and now Shuster, do we have 5 healthy arms? Do we have 4? Maybe we are going for 120 losses!

Sloan Park is fucking nice. Jealous of the people down there today.

The internet is truly wild.

To be fair, it's like the 4th week of spring training. At this point, beyond discussing is anybody is hurt, there is almost nothing to talk about until the real games start on the field performance wise. We'll see how good his changeup is when the real games start in Chicago and elsewhere.

Sox speaking about bringing back Clevinger
chitownsportsfan replied to PolishPrince34's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Bauer's problem, as much as his off field baggage, is that he's a complete douchebag in the Nick Swisher type (except worse) casting and his team mates and coaches all hate his guts. It's one thing to be a "free spirit" when you're on top of the game (likely due to "sticky stuff") it's another to do it when you're just another guy in the rotation ,at best. -

You can make a lot of excuses for the Sox, but they have never really operated at all levels like a mid or mid major market team, and by most valuations they are exactly that.
-
padres are valued at about 1.8 billion, Sox about 2 billion. to the degree one club is "small market" it certainly isn't the Padres here. SD spends and if it doesn't work out they retool. It's fun at least. Is it sustainable? Eh who knows, but at least they go for it.

Sox speaking about bringing back Clevinger
chitownsportsfan replied to PolishPrince34's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'd be curious to know how much of this is player driven, if at all (can't stand the cancer team mates) and how much is FO collusion. Collusion makes zero sense, so I think it's player driven. Nobody wants these douchebags around for 162 days of their work life this year. -

Exactly. They might not want him now. Just wait until some contender is under-performing in July and has two long term injuries to their rotation.
